"Crap. Arya is going to be home any second," I mumbled to myself. I quickly arranged the candles so they said happy birthday.
"Perfect," I said. I can't help but smile when I'm thinking about her.

I hear her car pull into the driveway. I turn off the lights, a bit too excited.

"Hussain, are you home?"She asks tossing her keys onto the sofa.

I peek from behind the counter to find her scrolling on the phone. Her eyes widen as they land on the cake.

I can't help but admire her smile as she locks her phone and puts it into her pocket.

"Suprise!''I yell and she hits up hitting the fridge, obviously startled.

I turn on the lights laughing at my clumsy wife. She smiles wider, running into my arms.

"Thank you for remembering,"she said kissing my cheek and I rubbed her back gently.

"Of course. It's the only date I remember, well that and our anniversary," I said pressing my lips to hers.

"I love you," I said pulling away.

"I love you too,"she said.

"Better blow your candles babe,they're almost gone," I said shaking my head looking at the dripping wax as her laughter fills the room.
