The End? (Part 1)

I slowly opened my eyes, blinking a few times. I winced and sat up. It was dark outside which confused me since I remembered it being daylight a minute ago. I sniffed the air and smelled something sweet and calming. Like a campfire. I gasped and slowly turned around.

The house was engulfed in flames. I stared at the flaming beast, eyes wide. "No..." I stumbled to my feet and instantly got lightheaded. I was too disoriented to notice. "Oh no." I walked to the door and looked inside. I couldn't even see anything. I tried to open the door but remembered I locked it.

"No, no, no, no, no!!" I pounded on the door, trying desperately to open it. "NO, PLEASE!!" I kicked and punched the door. "HELLO?! IS ANYONE IN THERE?!" No answer. I punched the door again. "DAMMIT!!" I sobbed and put my forehead to the door. "Dammit..." I was too late. I put my back to the door and slid down it.

I hugged my knees and sobbed. Everyone was dead. I couldn't do anything now. "Looks like I win, brat." I growled. "You bastard...they didn't do anything!!" I laughed. "Exactly."

I put my legs down. "You're a monster." "Look on the bright side! Now you're alone with me!" That was true. I was alone now. Not just friendless but completely alone. I sobbed more and put my hands on my face.

"What would Robin and Harry think of me...I'm an animal!! A murdering demon child!!" I sobbed harder. "Well why don't you ask them?" I took my hands off my face. "What do you mean...they're dead." I chuckled. "Yeah but you aren't."

Suicide? Was that really my only option? I thought about it. There's nothing left. My friends and family are all gone, my home, my reputation.

I looked up at the sky. The stars were out. I saw a star fly past. It grew very bright even though it was small. Then it disappeared. I sighed and looked back down at my hands. I nodded and stood up. "So?" I clutched my fist. "Let's do it."

I walked into the forest and continued to walk. I eventually found a road. I looked left then right and made sure no cars were coming. I quickly ran into the road and stood there for a minute. I saw bright lights approaching me and noticed it was a semi truck.

I felt my hands and legs start to shake but I didn't move. A few emotionless tears rolled down my cheeks and I sighed. This was it. The end of my life. I've come a long way. Before I moved here I was just a stupid kid. Then I came to the house. The same one that was now ashes. Memories flooded back rapidly.
