"Where are we going?" "To a new place. A new start."

I put my hood up and sat on the bench next to the road. After a few minutes, the public bus pulled up. I stepped onto it and sat in the very back seat. I stared out the window as it drove away. I looked up at the sky. A star flew by. It was shining brightly.

I put my cheek in my palm and watched it burn out in seconds. '...a new start...' I thought to myself. I checked the time and saw it was 12:01. 'This day marks the start of my new life.' I looked around and saw almost every seat was full. A packed bus.

I smiled and clutched the handle of the knife in my pocket. 'The start of my new life...as a murderer.' I stabbed the person sitting in front of me and quickly did the same to everyone on the bus, including the driver. I grabbed a man's bag and filled it with anything valuable. I tied the gas pedal down and jumped out of the bus.

I watched the bus fly drown the hill and slam into other cars, finally crashing into a building and exploding. I laughed and put the bag on my shoulder. I turned around and walked in a new direction. "Suckers." I smirked and twirled my knife.
