It was nearly sundown when Arjun and Nakul reached the palace gates. Arjun lifted the woman in his arms and rushed inside. A nearby soldier took the leash of the horses.

Nakul ran in to call their mother. Arjun walked fast inside.

"Dasi, please go inform the Rajvyda and his wife. I will take her to one of the guest rooms near Mata Kunti's room. Hurry," Arjun ordered without pausing.

The dasi left hastily.

Arjun laid down the woman on the bed of the guest room and stepped away. Then only he noticed the peculiar clothes on the woman. He was confused and curious from where this woman had come from. He had never seen such clothes anywhere in the entire Aryavart.

Kunti entered the room with three dasis behind her.

"Pranipaat Mata," Arjun greeted.

"Kalyan ho, putra," Kunti blessed him.

Then she turned towards her dasis. "Go get slightly warm water and a few washcloths. And you, go bring some clean clothes," she ordered the dasis.

The remaining dasi lighted diyas as it was quickly getting dark.

"Who is this kanya, putra? And where did you find her?" Kunti said worriedly fanning the face of the girl lightly.

"I don't know who she is Mata. Nakul and I found her in the forest towards the east of Hastinapur where we had gone to set the wild boar free. Suddenly the ground started quaking, the wind howling with loud thunder. Pratit ho raha tha ke shayad pralay aa gaya ho. (I felt as if destruction was upon us). We were leaving when I saw devi falling from the sky. She looked barely alive so we hastily brought her here," Arjun explained.

"You did right, putra. I hope Bhagwan let's her live,"Kunti joined her hands and prayed to Lord Shiv.

The Rajvyda and his wife entered. He examined the wounds from a little distance while his wife touched the woman's body.

He brought out various herbs and quickly got to mash them together with his stone pestle while turning away from the woman.

His wife said,"Rajmata, devi has sustained some flesh wounds and her neck appears to have been strangled. Her left side of her head is slightly swollen. Good news is no bones appear to be broken. She will be conscious soon."

Kunti thanked Lord Shiv and said," Arjun you can go now. We must clean her wounds."

Arjun replied," Yes Mata." And left.

As he made his way outside, Arjun was greeted by Nakul and Sahadev.

"What did Vyadji say, Bhrata?" asked Nakul.

"She will be conscious soon Nakul and thankfully she has no broken bones," Arjun replied.

Sahadev looked puzzled. "But didn't you say she fell from the sky?"

"Yes yes but I think the tree broke the fall so she got off lucky," Arjun replied.

They walked towards their rooms in the palace.

"Nakul did you notice the clothes she wore?" asked Arjun.

"What?.. oh.. now that you pointed it out Bhrata, she was in very peculiar clothes. I have never heard or seen such clothes anywhere," Nakul replied.

"From your words, it is clear that devi must have come from somewhere outside Aryavart. I don't know about any kingdom out there far north," Sahadev said.

"Areh Arjun, Nakul, Sahadev have you seen Mata?"

They looked towards the voice to see their elder brother Bheem coming fron the opposite direction.

"Pranipaat bhratashree,"the three of them greeted.

Bheem nodded in acknowledgement.

"Yes, Mata is with a guest tonight," Arjun said.

"Guest? Who?," Bheem said looking confused.

Nakul went on to narrate how they had found a woman who had fallen from the sky.

"Oh. Then she might be busy. We must inform Jyesth about this immediately."said Bheem.

"I already informed Jyesth, Bhrata Bheem. He must be informing about this to Pitamaah, Kakashree and Tatshree," said Nakul.

"I hope this doesn't cause any trouble for us or else Bhrata Suyodhana will never fail to keep pointing out our faults," said Sahadev with concern.

"You think too much, Sahadev."

They saw their Jyesth Bhrata Yudhisthir standing a few feet away.

"Pranipaat jyesth bhrata," they greeted.

Yudhisthir smiled and approached them. "Arjun and Nakul did the right thing to bring devi here. It would be adharma to leave a wounded person in need."

Arjun smiled," yes Bhratashree."

"She seems to be a foreigner, bhratashree. Her clothes are very strange," Nakul said.

"We have to wait Nakul. Until she wakes up, we cannot know who devi is. Then only we can decide what to do next. But according to Kakashree it looks like our plan to visit Varnavat will be delayed. As Arjun and Nakul have brought devi here, she is now under our protection," Yudhisthir said calmly.

"You are right Jyesth. We cannot simply leave devi here. Even if we do then we won't be able to travel to Varnavat in peace and contentment,"Sahadev replied. Although it would be a lie if he said he was not relieved. The way Mamashree Shakuni insisted on them visiting Varnavat felt suspicious. Afterall Jyesth is the Yuvraj and Suyodhana is definitely not happy no matter how he acts towards them.

"Aagya de, Bhratashree. I want to practice archery in the dark," said Arjun.

"Yes, you can go. I too must leave. Kakashree asked me to come and meet him to discuess some important matters,"said Yudhisthir.

Arjun and Yudhisthir left.

"I must also leave..."

"Ah ah, you don't have anything important to do expect stand in front of the mirror and admire yourself. So you both are going to accompany me to the kitchen," Bheem said cheerily while dragging his brothers.

Nakul made a noise of protest which of course went unheard.

"Bhratashree... but but what did I do? Let me go," Sahadev whined.

"No you are not leaving me alone Sahadev. If I have to endure aching arms from carrying loads of laddos, you have to endure the same too," proclaimed Nakul clutching on Sahadev.

"Good. Now be silent and help me carry the food,"Bheem said happily.

"As you say, Bhratashree," Sahadev said finding no way out of this.

"Abhijishya.. huh," Shree Krishna murmured.

"What are you thinking about, Arya?"asked Rukmini.

Krishna smiled and said,"Just that it seems like I will have two sakhis this time around."

"You and your riddles, Arya. No one can understand it. Fine, be mysterious. I am leaving. Bhabishree will surely need my help," Rukmini said and she stood up to leave in mock anger. Krishna caught her wrist.

"Priye, why are becoming angry? How will I survive now if my priye doesn't even want to sit on my swing with me and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere?," Krishna said innocently.

Rukmini smiled fondly and sat beside him. She leanes her head on his shoulder and said softly," Arya if you say things like this then how will I ever refuse your any demand."

She pinched his forearm as Krishna let go immediately.

"Ah priye. How could you do this to me?" Krishna proclaimed dramatically.

Rukmini chuckled and rushed out saying," Shama (Apologies) but I really need to go help Bhabishree. And I know I didn't even pinch you that hard."

Krishna laughed heartily. He saw Abhijishya laying on the bed of guest room of Hastinapur in his mind.

It seems Krishna will have to visit Hastinapur soon.
