When you have alot of friends, friendship is easy. When you have no friends, it's almost impossible. But, here's the good part. Jesus can be your friend (but remember, He is your creator, you shouldn't take that lightly) and He will never, ever leave. Isn't that a good feeling? You see, it might feel good to be the most popular person for a week, but can you imagine the pressure? Now, think about being the most lonley person. No friends, no help, nothing. Wouldn't that be depressing?

Proverbs 17:17

A friend loves at all times.

What kind of friend are you? Are you trustworthy? Are you giving? Are you even a friend at all? Imagine being Jesus' friend. He was rejected, hated, and mocked, and so were His friends. Would you be able to stand up for someone who claims to be the "Son of God"? Or would you walk away and roll your eyes? Jesus was a king, yes, but He wasn't looking for the richest people to be His friends, He was looking for those who would want to be His friend, no matter what. What about Judas? Well, without Judas, God's plan wouldn't have succeeded. Jesus cherished His friends, and He is willing to be friends with anyone who loves Him.

Proverbs 27:17

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

Friendship is very important. It's your chance to encourage someone and help them grow in the Lord. It can also be a bad thing. You can tear someone down or take them down the wrong path. Or vice versa. You can choose good friends and you can choose bad.

Proverbs 12:26

A righteous man man is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

You're probably asking by now, "But how am I supposed to find a good, Christian friend?" Easy! Not. Finding a good, Christian friend who will continue to encourage you through the hard times and point you to God is not a simple, easy task. It takes alot of searching time. Find someone who's not embarrassed to talk about God or doesn't change the subject when you bring Him up. Find someone who's willing to pray with you, cry with you, and read scriptures with you. Our friends have the ability to change us into either a good person, or a bad. We have the ability to change them as well. However, we should give God control and let Him direct friendships. If God was the center of every friendship, imagine how God-focused people would be! You have the chance to change someone's life. Change it for the good.
