On the night of the last supper, before He died, Jesus got down and washed disciples feet even the one He knew would betray Him.  He didn't do this to show that He was lower or just a servant but to show He was willing to help when others didn't want to.  We were all created in God's image which means that we need to do what He would want us to and live the way he did.  This means that instead of sitting around waiting for people to do stuff for you, like the disciples were the night of the last supper, you need to start doing things not only for yourself but for others to.  Washing feet is disgusting especially when the were barefooted and walked on dirt roads. Jesus still bent down and washed the dirtiest part of their bodies clean.  Obviously no one wanted to do this and I'm sure Jesus didn't want to either but He did to teach us a lesson.  He wanted us to help others no mater what weird looks you might get or what people might say.  It might change someone's life but at the same time make people think you are crazy, but people are always going to think that.  You'd have more people thanking you than hating you so I think it is worth it.
