Devotion #86 - Never Lie
11/6/2021
Lying may come easily to all of us when we are kids, it may come easily to all of us as we grow older and lie to our parents about going out with a couple of friends. It may even come easier to us when we are adults and lie to our customers about having a product when we don't even have it in stock. It may come easy to us all but we should never ever ever do it. "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor". The 9th Commandment out of the 10 Commandments given to Moses by God Himself when the Israelites had gotten out of Egypt. Basically what He is saying is, "Thou shalt not lie" but it is implied. Bearing false witness against those who are innocent is wrong and is basically lying on a podium against God. God doesn't want us to lie, especially when we are children. It comes easily to me because I lied to my parents and my sister when I was in high school and it nearly broke our family relationship when they found out. God has then straightened me out from that and I've moved on from it but the lying still comes and goes for me. I'm hoping that with speaking out like this, I can completely move on from lying and never break God's Commandments ever again. If you are stuck and feeling like your brain is frozen, then you don't have to worry because I've been there. Especially when the next words that comes out of your mouth before you can begin to process them is lies, trust me, it happens. God has given me a way to deal with that and I hope that it can stick with me to where it becomes a habit. Just take a few mental steps back and breathe in slowly then breathe out slowly and process the whole thing of what was asked of you. Carefully think through your answer and then just say the right answer from your heart and your mind. It's not gonna be easy to get over this whole lying thing we've all gotten ourselves into at some point but with God on our side, nothing is impossible and we will overcome this problem that has been going on in the world. We will overcome this lying problem and this world. "I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13
God Bless
Amen
