Devotion #78 - Being Different
9/26/2021
Different. Just because one Christian is different doesn't mean that they should be treated as lesser than a regular Christian. On the contrary, God created those who are different so that each of their differences can help to create and further His kingdom. There are those, however, who don't accept those who are different. In high school, those would be the bullies who are nonbelievers but believe themselves to be better than anyone else. Once when high school is over, those cliques are gone and nobody is who they once were as kids. That is what my mom once said about those who never once spoke to me in high school and are now speaking to me as adults. The point is, being different is something that people should look down upon, rather it is something that should be celebrated because being different is amazing and allows you to enter into greater places for God to influence. In the words of my mother's favorite movie, Mom's Night Out, 'You are God's masterpiece' and this is all part of God's plan. This is what we need to know because once God's plan comes into full play, then those who once hated you will realize their wrongdoings and will hate themselves for it. If they happen to make an appearance in your life then forgive them for their transgressions against you. God will forgive them as well if you wish to make an intercession upon their behalf but only after you have truly forgiven them. Being different is all a part of God's plan for our lives and for His kingdom, we just have to believe it in order to see it. I believe it, don't you? I'm different because I have Autism and yet God is still using me for a part of His plan that I have yet to figure out but I believe that He is using me for something amazing that will be revealed soon. Still don't like being different, Rachel Joy Scott was different and her story is changing millions of lives for the better. Just because we are all different doesn't mean that God doesn't have a plan for us. He is waiting for us to accept who we are as His children and is waiting for our salvation to happen. Don't let what the Devil, or what anyone else, says about you get you down in the dumps. "Let there be no more resentment, no more anger or temper, no more violent self-assertiveness, no more slander and no more malicious remarks, Be kind to each other, be understanding. Be as ready to forgive others as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you." – Ephesians 4:32 PHILLIPS.
Amen
