Devotion #114 - Salvation Changes You

5/15/2022

Today, a person got saved and was baptized by my dad. That makes me think about how different things are going to be in her life. When we first get saved, our lives become a whole lot different. That is because our lives are now devoted to Christ and our names are now written down in the Lamb's Book of Life. We then experience changes going on both within us and all around us. People begin to notice it and things all around begin to drastically change. Maybe your friends don't want to hang out around you anymore, or maybe they do and want to hear the Word of God. Either way, showing how different you are now after being baptized is a good step in the right direction. It shows everyone how bright your light is and that you are a changed person because you are a child of God and not afraid to show it. My life began to change drastically after I got saved. I was watching cat videos when I was not supposed to and was lying and deceiving my entire family. I was going down a dark road and was not listening to them when they tried to talk about God to me or gave me a devotional to read, since I love books. That just made me mad at them and was damaging our relationship. Finally, my parents put this problem into God's hands and prayed for me. Sophomore year at Falls Creek, I end up watching a wonderful video called 'Thirst' about this group of friends who are walking through a desert trying to find a place with more water while the girl and her friend make it to the place, thanks to her courage and bravery of standing up for what she believed in, where they will never run out of water again while their other 2 friends went to the deceitful place where they said they had water but didn't. Anyway, God was working on me through that video and when I came back from Falls Creek, I gave a speech that had everyone, including myself, crying, and my parents knew right then and there that I was to be saved. After I accepted salvation, it took over a year and a half but I finally gave up my old life choices and have given up on the temptations I was ensnared in. The point I'm trying to say is that once you accept Salvation, you are made new and the more you talk about God and show His love for others, the more people are gonna notice how different you are from everyone else. If they dont like it, then that's okay, God loves you and God loves everyone else in this world. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

God bless,

Amen
