Devorion #120 - Compassion: A weakness?? No!

7/22/2022

Compassion isn't a weakness that most warriors see it as. It actually makes you strong enough to do the right thing. David had compassion on Saul twice and spared his life both times even though Saul had tried to kill him more than once. Can you say that that wasn't a moment of weakness because it was not!! David became known as one of the greatest kings in Israel and was loved by God. He sought after God's own heart after making many sinful mistakes and was spared by God's own grace and mercy. God has a huge amount of compassion, and love, for us that He sent His One and Only Begotten Son to die on the cross for us to forgive us of our sinful ways. Jesus was the sacrificial Lamb that was slain to forgive us of our sins. All because both God and His Son have compassion for us. Think about it this way, if the world, and the Lord, didn't have compassion, then our lives and choices would be a whole lot more different than you may think it could be. Compassion on those around us, who cannot afford as much as we can, allows us to access the Spirit living within and asking the most simplest question ever. "What should I do?" The right thing is what we should do, but it is all up to you on whether you want to do it or not. It may not seem like it but compassion is a way of life for a Christian. It allows us to see the world from a new perspective and helps us with our prayers. Yah, I sometimes have trouble praying on who to pray for but almost every single time is either the TV being too loud, my thoughts making a jumbled mess, or I fall asleep while praying. What can I say but do not stay up too late kiddos. Trust me it ain't worth thr less sleep you get when staying up late. Compassion allows us to be there for those in need and helps us to obey the Word of God as well as the Lord's Will. "This is what the Lord Almighty said: 'Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widows or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other.'" - Zechariah 7:9-10

Amen,

God Bless
