CHAPTER NINE

BORO POINT OF VIEW

THEY SPEND HOURS ON THE BOAT, they were completely alone at the lower deck. "We must make a move." Boro calmly began to take his axe, he carried in front of him. "For what? We're going to get butchered here, Boro. It's a Viking ship, these people are ruthless and careless, if they had the chance they'll chopped us." She is right. All his years during his childhood, he has seen it up close, their ruthless, they've killed anyone who gets their way.

"Pardon?"

Both of them faced each other warily thinking who said that. They looked up to see three men. All much more muscular, taller than both of them. The man quickly grabbed Pym pulling her to his side. "I like this one."

"Leave her alone!" Boro took after her but only to be stopped by one of the men. "White hair? Black armor? The chivalry of this man? I think our captain will be very happy to see you." Pym widened her eyes, confused. What did they speak of? All three men began to drag both of them up to the upper deck. They arrived at the main deck, the men threw Boro onto the floor making him knee while the other one held Pym.

"What is it?" A girl's voice harshly responded. Boro refused to meet anybody eyes lowering his head keeping his eyes on the ground. Nobody must recognize him. He could hear Pym mumbling out of fear when the woman seemed to approach her. "I'm not Fey. I'm not Fey." He kept holding his anger in, he couldn't let her be touched like this. He knew if he made a scene, he'd be considered an enemy.

"Fey are bad luck." A voice harshly yelled out walking in the room. "Drown her." He couldn't help himself anymore. "No!" He got up pointing his knife, he hid in his feet just in case. He pointed right into the women he used to love.

"Boro?!" She exclaimed, widening her eyes. "Leave her alone. Don't touch her," he turned his head gesturing to Pym. He watched as she made her men stop. "Nice to see you, Boro." She harshly responded, walking up to him. She stood inches away feeling his hot breath, air. "I assume you go by the Red Spear, now." He replied, smirking. She laughed, making the rest of the crew laugh along with her. "It was always the name you wanted to be called when we were younger." He retorted causing her to stay silent. She observed him like a missing toy, she began to smile staring at him. "We must catch up, Boro."

He slowly gulped knowing fully well, what they were talking about. "What about the girl?" Boro immediately turned to Pym, who trembled. He then turned to her showing pleading eyes. "Keep her. She is a Fey. She can heal people."

"She is Fey, they know about herbs and that sort of thing." He turned to Pym, who simply was giving him questionable looks. "But I'm not..." Boro raised his eyebrow trying to tell her to go along with it. "Uh... I mean...I...am Fey?

"Well, which is it?" He turned to see the Red Spear, who simply didn't know who to believe.

"I am Fey. And a healer. A very well respected healer. I was the healer in my village...and several surrounding villages, actually. Never lost a patient." Pym began to speak, nodding her head.

"She lies!" The woman beside her spoke up. A young man all the way to the corner spoke up, eyeing Pym carefully. "With Thrain gone, could we use her?" He began to move closer to Pym only to be stopped by her. She sends him a smile walking over to Pym, herself. She could sense and feel that the girl meant something for Boro. She didn't like it. "There are slower deaths than drowning, I promise you." She gritted through her teeth standing inches away from Pym. "If the ale turns sour or I find any dead birds on deck, I blame you. Understand?" She finished. "Otherwise, you will heal my wounded." She practically spat in Pym's face leaving her frightened.

"Yes, ma'am," Pym weakly responded. "That's captain, you Fey bitch!"

"Sorry." Pym squealed. "I need my crew strong. You serve the Red Spear now...in her war against Cumber the Ice King." She announced walking around finally turning to him. "Come, Boro. We have much to talk about!" She began walking away leaving him standing there staring at Pym. The two men then began to make their way towards him dragging him where their captain led.

"Sit." She gestured to him to sit across her desk. "Leave! Now!" She ordered the men, who slipped away quietly. She made her way to her chair sitting across from him sending him a cheeky smile. Anger flared in her and she was hurt and angry now all she wanted to do is ripped him apart. "Why did you run away? You ran away! Like a coward!"

Boro stared emotionlessly. "You must have a reason. You took her. Why? Your coward!" She began to mock him. Boro stared at her emotionless. He didn't want to show he regretted everything, he really did. "My parents died, if you haven't noticed, it broke me. I needed to leave, I was fifteen, lost and confused. I needed Gwen, safe." Immediately, he watched as she widened her eyes, disbelief. "Where is she?" She demanded banging her hands on the desk. "Where is she?!"

"Stop! I don't know. I'm looking for her. She is alive! I know it." Boro replied cautiously looking at her. A mildly surprised expression graced his features.

"You lost her?" Her tone was stilted, mocking rather than respectful. She snorted and picked up the flagon to pour some down her throat. It tasted too sour on her tone and burned as it slid down her throat. Ignoring his jibe, she answered, "How cowardly of you?!"

Boro stared at her blankly, he didn't know what to say. She licked her lips, staring at him. "We could have disappeared. I could leave behind all of this! We could have forgotten our names, our pasts. And you wouldn't have to suffer for your actions!"

"You would have left your family?" Boro replied back. She raised her eyebrows. "You know very well the only family I have is you and Gwen!" She spoke back, shrieking. "A family who left me. A family I inadvertently killed," she retorted. A pause.

After a while, he finally asked, "Did you love me?"

"Of course, I did. I always did." Slowly, she gets up getting closer to him, reaching across and touching his cheek, feeling him tense up beneath her touch. After all this time, she still loved him. Uncertainty shined in his blue eyes. It was cruel of her, selfish, she knew. Then, one thought flashes through his mind. Pym. He got up staying away from her, she stared at him curiously.

"Look! It doesn't downgrade the fact we need to keep Gwen safe, for our sake." She smiles mischievously walking over to him. "You travel across the sea to hide away from the Ice King! And hid from me because you knew, I'll steal Gwen away. You know that very well! Ice King was furious to know of our involvement and the outcome, yet you choose to leave me, leaving me in the fury of the Ice King!" She yelled getting in his face. "I should have ripped you into pieces!" She growled, turning her back, frustrated. Boro watched curiously, at her. "My mother took the blame, you knew that. She was the one who helped you, us."

He watched as she growled in frustration banging on the wall. "Stop! Stop!" He began to panic, moving closer to her. "Stop it!" He took her hand grabbing her by her wrist. He could notice her brown chocolate eyes, smooth skin. She was the same woman he fell in love with when they were younger, she was three years younger than him but he still loved her.

"I hate the Ice King." She growled at him. "He will pay. So will his daughters." He held his breath and couldn't add on. "He will pay for what he did to me! He pushed the only family, I had left away! He did-" she freed herself from his embrace heading towards the wall, she got out her knife, started ripping the wood into pieces. "Ah!!" She kept repeating it over. He watched, she did was hurt and lost.

Boro couldn't do anything. It is always how she always lets go of her anger. Immediately, she stopped running towards him, placing her hands on his chest. "We should contain our happiness like we once did," she seductively spoke staring at him, curiously. He gulps slowly, taking her hand away. "There is no way, we're sleeping together, again. You're the captain of a Viking ship. It's what you
always wanted. It's why, I left you. So you could pursed the one thing you wanted. You knew very well that you being beside me wouldn't fulfill your life. I don't want to get involved with you." Once he said those words, she smirked. "It's because of the girl. The healer?!" She asked, demanding the answer.

"No way. No!"

"Then what? You seem to like her?" She continued. "I see your looks." Boro shakes his head. "No. She is like family." He watched how she raised hummer eyebrows. "Family? She doesn't have your blood." Boro gave her an uneasy look, tensed up. "She may not have my blood, I care for her." He responded, staring at her who seemed displeased.

"You can leave, Boro." He began making his way out only to hear the words. "You many never run, again." He sighed in defeat.

As he walked around looking for Pym, he found her speaking to someone. He got closer, to listened. He stood in the distance. "I don't get injured on raids. Sigurd protects me. But if I can only see you when I'm injured, perhaps I will leave Sigurd on board." Somebody confused Pym, he felt confused and wanted to see who it was. He leaned away and hid behind the inner corner when a man walked upstairs, sighing. He slowly got out of his hiding place when towards Pym.

"It seems like you have an admirer." He broke the silence causing her to flinch. "He ain't."

"It's like you dazzled him by your inner Fey." He teased, causing her to laugh. "I hope not." He made his way towards her sitting beside, sighing. "Pym there is something you must know." He got interrupted.

"I know. You're a Viking. Well half-fey and Viking." He seemed confused. "Who?" Pym shrugged her shoulders. "You're famous here. It seems where you came from, you're well known. I mean you and the Red Spear were unstoppable, some people say you're her long lost love." Immediately, he couldn't believe it. His life story had been told so many times. "People know, Boro. It's okay." She assured him by showing a smile. He smirked sending a smile, Pym could be the greatest friend you ever need. As he smiled at her response, she couldn't help to feel her heart break. Boro wasn't meant to hers, he's destined to be with The Red Spear, they have history together and more importantly a burden they both couldn't keep safe. She now knew the truth.

It's been a day, some ships are getting to sail. Boro has been trying to avoid everybody on the ship including Pym who spent all her time with a Viking, Dof. He wanted to be alone. When he saw The Red Spear making her way towards Pym, she held an angry face on, people followed her. He entered the room with Pym stitching her up.

"Prepare the crew for a long sail to Black chain." She announced. He widened his eyes in disbelief. No, she couldn't leave. "No. We can't leave!" Suddenly, she started wincing in pain. "Sorry! Sorry, sorry, sorry!"

"Why? Boro? Why don't we leave?" She questioned. "We can't leave Gwen, I need to find her." She growled frustrated. "No. She may be dead! Boro, she might be dead!" Those words shook his heart to the core. He kept thinking was she dead? Is this all a waste? Is he that stupid? Did he do this for nothing! "Belay that order. Stay on Beggar's Coast!" He snapped out of his thoughts, concerned. He looked at Pym's eyes, sharing the same thought. They'll stay home.

They stood in the same area from earlier. He watched as everybody laughed gathering around the gold. "As your captain, I declare open season on Red Paladins!" Everybody cheered, suddenly he saw how Pym knocked onto the wall, he made his way towards her pulling her up. She sent a smile of gratitude. They didn't notice a pair of chocolate eyes staring at them. Slowly dof approached Pym, handing her a drink. He backed giving them some space. He watched with fear and guilt. Slowly, a pair of hands made their way towards his chest. He looked to see her standing there smiling, seductively. He turned to look once more at Pym who didn't bother to look at him, being too memorized by the Viking. He felt his heart breaking. It was the way she looked at him.

"For our captain!" The crowd cheered.

"The sea is full of fish.We spied three paladin campfires. We'll need a healer on site. You'll go with Dof and his team." Boro paused looking at Pym widening his dark blue eyes. "What? No!" He ran after her. He looked back at Pym who held an axe, staring at it in disbelief.

"No?!"

He watched as the goddess Viking turned around facing him. "She is a healer." He paused, unbearable to see her any longer. You'll go with me, Boro. Come now," she demanded leaving him confused, refusing to go any further. "Don't shed yourself now, don't forget what you were once, a Viking." She growled at him, frustrated enough and kept walking leaving him speechless. She turned around, throwing one of the pitchforks she had. He grabbed on to it on his right hand staring at it, disbelief. He is going to fight.

He might not make it alive might never see Gwen ever again.
