CHAPTER FIFTEEN
GWEN SAT THERE WAITING. To die. All her life has been lied to. She didn't know what to say or do, everything was lies. She still has no clue who she is or why the Ice King wants her. She would rather die.
"Gwen?" Immediately her eyes looked over to see a low voice. She looked around afraid. Who was that? "Gwen!" Squirrel appeared running over towards it with a knife cutting the ropes.
"Oh god, no." She cried out. Squirrel kept cutting it. "No, Gwen. I must save you."
"No, squirrel. You have to go. You gotta go, Squirrel. They're going to hurt you, please go. Please, go."
"No, Gwen." He shouted at her. "Squirrel?" She asked, worriedly. "It's you and me, remember?" He said to her, breaking her heart. The ropes cut off, she quickly grabbed on to his hand pulling her away to a small space. "Gwen?!" He cheekily smiled hugging her. "Oh god, Squirrel. You shocked me every day, little knight." They began to walk towards the near end of the tent.
"Gwen, I saw the green knight over there." She furrowed her eyebrows unsure what to say. She began to make her way where he was leading, keeping a low profile. Slowly, they made their way into the tent. She saw Gawain with bruises and blood covered in, he looked dead in plain sight.
"Gawain!" She yelled running towards him holding his hand. He began to touch his cheek to see if he's alive. "Green knight?" Squirrel questioned. Her eyes became watery, she didn't want to love her beloved dear friend.
"Squirrel? Gwen? No.No. No, no, no. No. No." She holds onto his right cheek, smiling at him. "I'm glad you're alive, green knight." Squirrel immediately chimes in, "We've got to get you out."
"You have to get out of here now!" Gawain demanded.
"Go, Squirrel! Gwen!" He demanded. "Please , guys. "I won't leave you here," Gwen replied softly holding his hand. Squirrels began to cut off the ropes of Gawain.
"Percival! Guinevere!" Names they haven't used in years. "I can't.My legs don't work.I can't run. Leave me." Slowly, she held onto his hand and began to cry, she can't lose him. Not now.
"I won't. Nimue needs you. I need you," She told him softly as tears fell from her eyes. "Percival, I wish I had a hundred with your courage. Now kneel."
"Quickly. Quickly. A knight of the Fey...is one with the land, as enduring as the Great River...
and as true as Arawn's bow. We are born in the dawn...To pass in the twilight.Be brave now." She began to tear up holding his hand. "Please don't leave me!" She shrieked, crying. "Please don't leave me!"
"Hurry, before they return. The Green Knight commands it." He ordered hoping they'll leave. He needed them safe.

Immediately, they began to walk but she pushed Squirrel to the side and made her jump to the side. The one man grabbed her hair and turn her towards him.
The red paladin dragged her. "What have we here?" She watched as they carried her by the arms to face the weeping monk and Father Carden outside, she struggled to break free.
"No! Leave him alone! He's just a boy! I'll gouge your bloody eyes out!"She shouted at the men who had no eyes.
"Too late." They were dragged outside where she was thrown onto the floor alongside Squirrel.
"Father Carden. Fey scout. Caught them in the kitchens trying to free the Green Knight." Father Carden went up to Squirrel, "How many are with you, boy? How many?"
"Enough to kill you, you paladin scum!" Gwen shouted speaking for Squirrel. She spitted in his face. Only for Father Carden to glare at her evilly.
"Have Brother Salt take his measure. And tell him to start with that foul tongue of hers." Immediately he was interrupted by the weeping monk. "She is just a girl. She's no threat to us. There's both no threats to us."
She turned to face him, angry. She growled at him holding her anger. She thought he was different. "You," she whispered, they began to carry her to another tent while Squirrel carried had been carried to the other side.
Father Carden backhands him in the face. He closes his eyes expecting this. He at least saved her. Well, he just saved her before it's too late. "Why would you embarrass me? Why?" The weeping monk doesn't say anything and stares in silence looking at the ground refusing to utter a word.
What has he done?
