20 - Mariana
2 years later.
The white sand on shores of this private island, glistened under the intense glare of the sun. Paradise. It was an absolute paradise. I was floating on the pool that was maybe 20 feet. We were surrounded by greenery, the luxury hut behind us was shaded by the beautiful tall palm trees. The water ruffled behind me, two arms enclosed around my waste.
Santiao floated close, hands slid up my torso to my naked breasts. I leaned back to find him naked as well. Effortlessly, he stuck himself inside me.
"This is so beautiful." He whispered against my neck.
"I know right." He was slow thrusting into me.
"I don't mean the view." I tilted my head in pleasure.
Mmm. I was starting to feel the tingles shooting thought my pussy and to my stomach when I suddenly heard leaves rustling to our right. Turning, we found Lucia make her way through the little patch of palm trees that separated our villa from theirs.
"Oh God." I whispered. They both looked up, still in the shades when their faces morphed into disgust.
"AHHH!" Lucia screamed and closed her eyes. Mortified, I tried to hide under the water but Tiago held me up.
"If you move, my dick's in view." He sounded embarrassed. She only saw the side view, nothing. Thank God.
"EWW." She snickered, upturning her nose. She turned and practically ran away. When we were alone again, I turned, my heart thumped in my chest. My hand covered my open mouth, I was stuck between mid-laughter and a shocked expression.
"Oh fuck." He ran a hand through his hair, a ghost of embarrassed smile on his lips. "I completely forgot about lunch. We asked her to come over didn't we?" I nodded and we both burst out into laughter.
We dried up, dressed quickly before making our way to the twin villa 30 feet away from the our own. Grey slope roof, open windows, doors, for maximum air flow. It was hot in St. Lucia but that's exactly why we came here.
It was actually a paid vacation by the Lucia Villa Resort so I could promote them on my channel of 10 million viewers and over 15 million Instagram followers. After last year, when Santiago was on Forbes magazine for being self-made billionaire, my followers grew due to my connection to him. His sister's paintings were now being sold for millions and the prints were flying off the shelves.
This is was family did. One made it and pulled the others up along with it.
"I sometimes wish that my parents were here. Enjoying the life they always dreamt of. Worked so hard for." I blurted out. Tiago, Lucia and I were in the little open cabana that had its own food bar. We got some breakfast and sat around the round table that was under a fan. "Sorry for bringing down the mood." I stuffed my face with some scrambled eggs.
"No, I'd take depressed conversation than naked ones." Her whole body shook in disgust making me and Tiago laugh. He tore of a piece of bread and flicked it at her face but she didn't retaliate. Just looked at him with contempt.
"Anyways." Lucia carried on. "Well, I don't have a good relationship with my father. I mean, I try but he's so, over baring and always trying to tell me what to do and not. I just... I don't know. Also, I can't handle the screaming. Whenever he gets agitated, he'll like, shout or scream and I can't deal with that. I've trying to have a normal relationship with him for two year but no progress. So no, I wouldn't really want him here."
"True but I my parents, I hardly spoke to them. They'd be so busy and then so tired when they'd come home, the house was just silent." I shrugged.
"They would've have loved to have some peace. Just relax and enjoy the life that they dreamed of." Tiago rubbed my back, in a comforting manner.
"I used to think they are at peace but now that I sit here..." I looked over the white sand and turquoise water, a true paradise. "Their dream was that me and my brother would make it and give them a break. I used to hate them, for putting such burden on us. On my little brother who wasn't good enough if he didn't bring the perfect score. As I grow up, I can see where they were coming from, now." I shrugged. Even if I had kids, I wouldn't put so much pressure on them, like they did on me but I don't want any and neither does Tiago. He had Lucia and now, so did I.
"Do you think parents hates their kids sometimes?" Lucia asked out of the blue.
"You think your dad hates you?" Tiago asked Lucia. She shrugged.
"I think so. Maybe? Not hate but they wish their life was different and if we weren't there, maybe it would be easier, less mouths to feed." I concluded. Maybe, maybe not?
Who knew? Well the people with good parents, not parents like ours.
"Sometimes, I think relying on people you choose and they choose you, is easier. More dependable than family." A very cheeking smile curved into her lips, her whole face lit up, chocolate brown eyes glistened with a mischievous glint. She leaned sideways, wrapped her arms around me.
"AH!" I screamed with happiness. Laughter and glee that bubbled up from my stomach. The happiness and contentment I felt was beyond imaginable. "SHE'S MY GIRL." I hugged her back, my hand on her face. She was so sweet, that my heart expanded from love.
Santiago just stared at us, eyes wide but the frown he was trying form failed due to the involuntary twitch of his lips.
"This... is not cool." He scraped his chair back, acting angry, pretending to storm away. We both detangled from each other, laughed throwing our heads back.
"More food me." Lucia stole a pancake from his plate.
"HEY!" He ran back, laughing, practically tackled his sister.
There were tears in my eyes. I just felt so over whelmed by the happiness that I prayed to the God I hadn't in years, to not take this away from me too. I was happy. Finally happy and so were they when. Seeing Tiago laugh was a rare sight but he never failed to smile when Lucia was there. Even after the two years that passed, for him, she was still his baby sister and treated her like so.
She loved it. She now had a better relationship with him as his reactions to her past had settled. He listened now, treated her like an adult and allowed her to make her mistakes. But he was always there, one step behind her if she fell, he's always there to catch her. Help her without her knowledge. Even though Gabe was always there but she managed to start forming different relationships and friendships now. Unlike before, when she solely relied on Gabe.
Santiago's personality had changed too. He was much more alive now, present in the moment than constantly planning the future and thinking about the glorious past. He was a lot happier now. Even funny and goofy sometimes but that was with his sister. He because whoever she needed him to be at the moment.
He took care of us. All of us. Looking at them squabble, I took out my phone and captured the smiling moment between them. They didn't notice but their resemblance was startling. My heart soared. I posted that on Instagram with a caption that read "Husband vs sister-in-law. She said she loves me more. 😉"
I smiled so wide that my cheeks hurt. My heart full and content. I was so present in that moment that if I died right now, I would die happy in this paradise.
The three of us spent a 4 day weekend in St. Lucia. Santiago and Lucia helped me film the resort. We used drones, recoded the activities, sky diving, zip lining and so many other fun activates. So many more people were flocking to my social media since I started showing my family life. My husband, Lucia's art shows or when we went out shopping.
Just recording out daily lives and posting. People loved it. Yes Santiago didn't sit down and did the husband tag and what not but he was there in the background, sometimes would drop a kiss goodbye while I was filming my makeup videos. People ate that up.
The loved the mystery around him. If they googled him now, they'd find pages after pages of his business accolades. This is the lifestyle I've always wanted and enjoyed every second of it.
After uploading the first edited video, I cracked my knuckles and turned off the Mac. My home studio was a room filled with lights, camera and shelves of makeup. People had book, Lucia had paints and brushes and I had makeup. Just through the arched door way was a smaller room filled with gadgets and editing equipment's. I left the office and then my studio.
Santiago was at a meeting with Javi's temporary replacement. Well, it was Sullivan but he still needed to prove to Tiago that Sullivan could handle the pressure. Gabe had taken the security side of the company and expanded it all over the damn country and overseas within two year. Tiago was still the boss and they all came together once a year to report but every aspect of his business were now handled by different people. So, he could have a life and wasn't doing everything at once.
Javi and his wife had a baby. Javi was shocked at first and didn't know what he was going to do until he saw his eyes that was now his boy's eyes too. It took one look and he knew he wanted to give his family full attention. His priority had changed.
I remember when Lucia and I went to Lorren's baby shower. We both complained all the way there. We acted how normal women would when it came to babies but truly, we could care less. Anna, Xavier's wife asked me when Tiago and I having one. I burst out into laughter, shaking my head no. The women just stared at me. Lucia chimed in her support. Some women were baby people and some weren't.
I didn't understand why it was such a big stigma. There were kids at the baby shower and they kept asking if my phone had games and wanted to play like we knew each other. I avoided them like flies. Lucia practically ran away. Babies weren't our thing and our men were more than happy about it.
Getting ready, I called Luther to come pick me up before taking me to the meet and greet I was having at Dose Of Colour. I asked Lucia to come with me, so we'd be picking her up on the way.
Tiago expanded the house. There were now 4 bedroom, my studio, an extra make up room, gym, garage, his office a huge walk in closet for both which looked like a store. My own house was on rent to a lovely family. I was able to pay off the mortgage and now I was sitting on a house that was just increasing in value.
Lucia came to stay whenever Gabe was out of country and she didn't go with him. Usually, she went but when she had a deadline for work and had to finish a painting, she stayed the night in this house and then in the morning, she'd just drive 5 minutes away to where they lived.
She was doing better now. She had a purpose in life and Miss Caroline really helped her get through her fears. The one thing she couldn't fix was her relationship with her father.
The event was amazing. Lucia was extremely inspired by the colours. She wasn't really into makeup but she was awfully well with colours and their harmony and contrast. She knew what primary colours created the colour we were putting on our eyes, which one would blend and look better. My friends who were in the same line as me were super impressed.
When I was on stage with my friends, promoting the new launch, my little sister-in-law just sat in there, made sketches of our faces with eyes closed and used the shadow and brushed on the tables that were given out and created 10 different looks.
When they saw it, I could help but boast about her. She was just playing with colours but it was so beautiful. I'm sure, we'd be doing those exact same make soon with credits to her. When we were done, we stopped by Catalan his main club that he remained. He still had his office there. We kept telling him to get out of the bat cave but that was like home to him.
It was still very early and light out but there was already a line forming. It was Pauly D who was going to be the D.J. We said hello to the bouncers and used the codes to get into his office. He was busy looking at the papers that were scattered on his desk.
"My two favourite girls, what can I do for you?" He leaned back in his king size chair.
"We just came from the Dose of Colour meet and greet, maybe we can go for a meal now?" Lucia suggested.
"Sure, where do you want to go?"
"Slow Smoke. I love that place." She asked.
"Is Gabe going to join us?" Tiago asked.
"Yes, he's still at work but he'll come when there food." We all headed outside.
"Not you?" I teased.
"Ehh!" She flicked her wrist. "Same thing."
The offhand comment disgusted Tiago which just made me laugh. Maybe it was fair considering she walked in on us.
We got into the back of my Audi Q7, Santiago on the front passenger seat. Lucia was texting Gabe. I watched as we passed the people on the streets. Some returning home, some just out for the night. So many people in so many different colours. It fascinated me that I had time to watch people. It felt like the world slowed down and I was just in that moment. Alone. Me and the world.
I soaked in the different accents, the different smells, the different personalities. At one time of my life, I was those busy people. Always running, getting from one job to another, time seemed to always slip by. But now, time slowed, allowing me to enjoy life.
Gabe joined us soon, he ordered a brisket sandwich and a rib eye stake with mac and cheese. We all stared at him as he ate.
"I legit hate you. I'd love to eat like that and not gain weight." I threw a French fry at him.
"I work out a lot." His double entendre didn't go unnoticed by Tiago. His smirk caused Lucia to wink at him. They were such a mischievous couple but
"That's it, you're going to pay for all of this." Tiago gestured to the food. He called the waiter over. "Can I have slow cooked ribs, pulled pork, potato salad..." He went on and on until he nearly listed everything on the menu.
Gabe just laugh. He was worth half a billion dollar with where he took the Security company. We ate as much as we could but took the rest home. Tiago didn't give any bags, that we were carrying out of the restaurant. He handed Lucia her favourites and everything else we took back home.
Gabe and Tiago had a good relationship. They had each other's back but they weren't friends or confidants. Gabe had Jamie and Jake. Tiago had Javi and Sullivan.
I curled up against Tiago and posted a couple of pictures of the place I took of the place, on my Instagram.
"How's everything going baby? You've been very busy lately with all the events.?" He stroked my hair, dropped a kiss on my forehead. Sometimes, when we were with people, he didn't treat me like a sub that I was with him behind closed door. Even though I still made my own money, he always made sure he poured in twice as much in my bank account when I went out of the country for work.
"It's amazing. I don't mind the stress. It's good stress. Honestly, I am so happy now." I pulled back and faced him. He took my face in his hand. "This is the life I would dream about. I have a family. I have an awesome job. I have nothing to complain about. Sometimes, I'm on a plane, flying first class and all I can think about is how the fuck did I get here." That made him chuckle.
"I know what you mean. I was so consumed with revenge and when I realised that that my little sister was alive, even though it wasn't my whole family, it still gave me some peace. Now, all I want to do is travel with you. Spend time watching my baby sis paint like a pro." I smiled at that. She was fucking brilliant. "I just want to..." He was looking for the right word.
"Enjoy life?" I finished, practically pushing my breasts right into his chest. He pulled me into him, my crossed legs were on his thigh, my knee pressed up against his dick.
"Can I ask you something?" His hand was on my thigh, gripping them tightly.
"Yeah." I dragged my nails through his beard.
"Do you want kids?" Startled, I leaned back to look at him
"Do you?" I was so surprised.
"I know a lot of friends are always nagging at your about babies... I was just wondering." He shrugged. His face clearly read discomfort.
"I adore my friends babies but that's it. I spend about 15 minutes with them and I'm good. When they start crying, I hear myself saying, thank god I don't have to deal with that every day. Some women, are nurturing but I am not. I didn't grow up with that thought process. So, no. Why? Is it because you have to pass down the company to an heir?"
"No. I wanted you to be happy. I don't want kids either but if you did. I'd do everything to make you happy." The sincerity in his voice touched my heart.
"I think I just fell for you all over again." I confessed, my eyes misting over at his commitment form. "You're enough for me, baby. I want to spend the rest of my life with you." I leaned in for a kiss which he happily obliged.
"You make me whole. You saved me." He whispered against my lips, softly.
I was making out with my husband, on our way to the mansion he built for me. At 19, I had 2 jobs, six figure debt passed down from parents and a student loan. I was drowning. I wanted to die.
Now, life made me so happy that sometimes I didn't want to go to sleep. I wanted to appreciate everything that's around me. That girl, at 19, almost feels like a life time away, as if it wasn't me who lived that because of where I was now.
I wrapped an arm around my husband, intertwined our fingers that rested on my thigh. I had a sister now, friends who I met through my work, a fan base that supported me unconditionally. Even though my prior life wasn't something I would chose but if I had to go through that all over again knowing I'd end up here, I'll do it all over again.
Life was a bliss. It took us so many challenges to get here but it was perfect.
