18 - Santiago

"My baby sister? Lucia?" I asked as if they were dumb.

"YES. She's IN THERE DO SOMETHING." Mariana pushed me. "TIAGO." I couldn't see anything. No, Lucia wouldn't put herself put herself into danger. Especially when the danger is the man who tortured her as a child. She wouldn't walk into her nightmare willingly. Gabe wouldn't let her.

"She's with Gabe." I tried to make sense of it. I couldn't feel my body anymore. All the energy was drained out of my body.

"SHE'S IN THERE." Mariana was furious. I'd never seen her so fucking angry. "LUCIA IS IN THERE. If you don't go in there, I will." She tried to push past me but one of my men stopped her. Bile rose up my throat when understanding dawned on me.

Javier came to my aid, handed me a bottle of water from the car that I used to splash my face with. "My friend, I know this is a lot to take in but Lucia is in there. Your sister is in danger. We have to go."

"Okay." I nodded. I got my shit together and stared at my wife who kept looking up towards the hill.

"Get the ropes, we are going over the wall. Get Jake to either override the system or shut the security or the power. Anything. We need their attention on one side, so we can attack from the other." I explained.

"Okay." Javi got on the radio, instructed the team to get ready for a full on war. I shook of my suit, shoved it in the back seat of the car. Mariana was panicking, so it was my time to be strong. Bringing her close to me, I put her in one of the middle cars, put her in the back seat with no lights. "Stay here. Do not get out until I come or Javi. Okay?"

Shutting the door, I tried to get to Javi when her soft hands reached out, wrapped them around my wrist.

"What do you mean you or him? Where are you going?" She asked frantic. Leaning down, I dropped a hard kiss on her lips, thinking it may be the last time.

"I mean if I am not capable to come back." She shook her head, trying to get out but I locked the car.

"You have a lot of men behind you, nothing will happen to you. You have to come back to me Tiago." She shouted as I walked away. I couldn't look back. If I did, my emotions would kick in and I would want to hold her forever and never let go but I didn't have time for that now. I had to save my sister. She was in Jude's grasp for a long time and was tortured. No one saved her because no one knew she was alive.

There was no way, she was going to spend more than 10 minutes in there.

"FUCK JAKE." I heard Javi yell into his phone.

"What happened?" I started to strap myself with the guns, the men lined themselves around the hill side, where the walls stood high up.

"Jake has been working on the side with Gabe and Lucia so Lucia can surrender himself and Gabe him kill Jude and extract Lucia. But they are stuck inside. Good news is, we have eyes in there and control over their security system. Bad news, both of them are now inside, surrounded my 34 guards." He explained.

Think, don't feel.

"Okay, so use that. Get him to overpower one of security lights. This will draw some people towards it, disperse even more to get it fixed. We go in stealth mode, use silencer and knives. Find the weak points, get in, find Gabe and Lucia, whoever can get their hands on Jude. Put a bullet in his head and get out." I spoke into the radio.

"I'm on it." Jake he was talking a lot more now, the tap-tap of the keyboard was back. "Also, Jamie is inside."

"Did you guys think you could go in, 2 people take around 30 people. ARE YOU GUYS NUTS?" I shouted down the phone.

"No, they are just babies who thinks they can do whatever they want. Now, they are caught." Javi scolded. He's been working with Jake since Gabe introduced us to him and Jamie. Jamie was the silent type who was close to Gabe. They were both very similar. Quiet and big. Who were trapped in the house.

Idiots.

"Please tell me, they at least have Elena."

Suddenly, there was a bright light, followed by glass shattering.

"Don't worry, I burst the light that's on the other side, not yours The men are moving that way. Also about Lucia..." He trailed off.

Oh gosh

"WHERE. THE. FUCK. IS. SHE?" If she was getting... no.

"She's fine. She's actually trying to save the idiots." He reassured. It seemed like everyone knew Lucia's past.

"Where's Jude?" Is my sister roaming around in that mansion, all alone?

The security lights went bust, all around the compound. "This is it, go guys. Go."

We strapped ourselves to the harness, the men had already used the Arrow Gun to plant it's hook into the wall. Using the harness and ascender, we walked up the sides of the wall and flipped the rope over to climb down on the other side, dropping us inside the compound.

"Jake, did security camera's pick that up?"

"Oh, I froze that long ago. You guys carry on, you're doing great." He sounded happy and I remember Gabe saying something about Jake loving this. It's like video games for him. We were right behind the hedges.

"Okay, break into your designated groups and number yourselves for Jake as he doesn't know your names." I ordered via my com. When it was done, we all drew our weapons with silencers. "Don't forget to hide the fuckers you killed."

"Okay, Santiago. Your sister is upstairs. There's a lot of people outside, I think the best option would be holding perimeter while Team 1 and 2 goes inside. 2 keeps 1 safe and 1 finds the 3 idiots and we go home."

I heard some knuckles crack and the tapping started again.

I was leading team 1 while Javi was leading team two. "There's two men on each side from the back door. Team three, there's a man in the kitchen, you have to go low, eliminate him. That will distract the two in the back door. Tiago and Javi, eliminate them and then use the stairs next to the kitchen to get upstairs."

Javi and I waited until we heard the thud from the kitchen and heard movement right behind the doors. The house was an English style closed house with an empty pool. No big windows, which was great for us. Three floors high with dark corners. Easy for us to infiltrate without being noticed.

"Open."

Javi and I made eye contact and opened the door when two of our men put a bullet through each one's head. Before they even fell on the floor, two others rushed inside to break their fall. They dragged the dead bodies to the kitchen and hid all three in the pantry.

"Okay keep going up." We did, Javi lead this time.

"Where's Lucia?"

"She's in the library, looking for Gabe." He explained.

"Where's Gabe?" This is a fucking find the clue.

"Third floor. He just can't come down without making a noise. He has coms by the way."

"YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT NOW?" I whisper shouted.

"No, time. Javi on your left." Javi ducted and a man appeared out of nowhere.

I shot and hit him in the head. Javi rushed forward to grab him, slowly let him down and slid him under the third floor stairs.

"Okay, Gabe, you can come down now." Suddenly, two more coms were added to the one in my ear.

"Where's the other one?" Gabe's gruff whisper came through my ear and I wanted to punch the living daylight out of him.

"He's 10 septs away from Javi and Santiago. Still in the lounge. I think Javi can take him out from the door way." He instructed Javi to the right angle and then he took the shot. There was a soft thud. "Good, Gabe's on his way down with Jamie."

The back stairs were between two walls and we didn't know where they were coming down from until Jamie turned, his stance, military style and so was Gabe's. They were both in black gear and covered with my styles of guns including a sniper one. They stepped over the body to reach me.

Stepping forward, I reared my hand back to punch him.

"LATER." He whispered, jumping back. "Punch me later, get Lucia." He pointed two fingers towards the opposite side of the lounge where Javi went.

"FINE." I whispered. Indicating my men to move in front of us, we followed them.

"Good, Lucia is on the third door on the left. Be careful, there are men at the end of the corridor." Jake warned us through the com. We kept moving and I had the urge to shoot Gabe in the back while he was moving swiftly in front of us. Javi put his hand on my gun, pushed it down giving me a "Are you crazy?" look.

"I saw that." Jake chuckled in my com. "Guys be careful, the men are moving into the house. Be quick."

Suddenly, there were movement ahead, we all ducked into respective rooms we were closet to. Javi and I were separated. Two of my men and Gabe ended up in what looked like the master bedroom. The room was dark but the stench of coppery blood was pungent. Gabe reached into his bulletproof vest, pulled out a military torch light.

I squinted, until my eyes adjusted to the light.

"Oh shit!" One of my men gagged.

"That's Jude." Gabe didn't even bat an eye when a mangled dead body came into view. His guts were spilling out of his body, hands stretched out to the side. The worst of his injuries were in his genitals.

His jeans were shredded, flesh hung in loose tendrils. A small part of me regretted that he was dead. It would have been much more fun if he was captured alive and I would have tortured him for all the years that he tormented my sister.

"I guess I taught her too much." Gabe looked up, a small smile on his lips. My face darkened and he quickly sobered.

"GUYS. It's Lucia, she's out of the room. She doesn't know there's a guy coming from the other end." Gabe spurred action. His instincts were to protect her. He quickly swung his sniper rifle around his from back and slowly opened the door. It took about maximum of 3 seconds to point, aim and shoot.

"Man that was close." Jake blew out his breath and Gabe practically ran outside without a care.

"Okay, all of you, out, get Gabe's getting Lucia and go back the way you all came from." Jake sounded pleased.

When I emerged, Lucia was right there, a gun in her hand, her blue jeans were soaked in blood, making it look black.

Alarmed, I jogged forward. "Are you-"

"I'm fine, let's go." The feisty little thing pushed a 6'4 man and a 6'2 over 200 pound man towards the area we came from. Javi and his men waited till we reached the stairs. Everything was dark and we were moving too fast.

"There's someone coming, guys move, move, move." Jake rushed. We all cramped down the stairs, somehow, managed to get out without making an incredible amount of noise. When we reached the kitchen again, we found a pile of dead men being guarded by team 3 and 4.

"What happened?" Javi asked.

"A lot of them came back so we kind of had to kill a few." The guy shrugged.

"Okay let's move." Gabe held onto Lucia like a vice and I wanted to bring her in, hug her but there weren't much time left. We had to get over the wall.

"You guys, go." Javi instructed us. We all popped behind the wall of hedges. Gabe strapped Lucia into his harness, he used another. I strapped myself in next to him. Jamie was in the other side of Gabe. My men also started climbing the robes.

When we reached the top, a couple of sudden shouts stole my attention. There were two men at the side of the building who were checking the lamp with busted lights. My instincts reached for Lucia, protecting her from them if they pulled their gun. I picked up the rope, flipped it towards the mountain side and helped her down as quickly as possible.

There were a couple of shouts and it looked like the men were doubling up. Good thing was, we didn't hear any gun shots yet. Turning, I grabbed Lucia's elbow and speed walked to the car that Mariana was in. Unlocking the door, I almost placed her inside. I was running on adrenaline. Heart beating loudly in my chest but my mind was still clear and conscious.

Mariana gave me a once over to see if I was still intact, then gave me a curt nod before putting all her attention to my sister. My heart expanded. She was running her hands up and down Lucia's arm, making sure she was alright and scolding her at the same time. I wanted to smile but Gabe came into my view.

"Er, we should leave now." He was bulkier than me but 2 inch shorter and I knew he could use one of his ninja techniques to lay me down with a swipe of his hand but I didn't care. My brotherly protective instinctive kicked on. Raring back, I tried to sock him right in nose but he leaned back and I ended up hitting his jaw.

"All out, get in the car and drive." Javi came from nowhere and my sister was shouting at me from the car for trying to hit her boyfriend.

I didn't even comment. Turning around, I told my men to get in and get out quickly and disperse once we reach the main road. I got into the first car in line but stopped Javi from doing the same thing.

"I swear that was the weakest punch I ever saw." He laughed, getting in, he picked up the tablet from the floor of the car and turned on the screen.

"Bastard moved." I looked back to find the car that held Mariana, Lucia, Gabe and Jamie who was in the front seat, turned around quickly and roared down the Hill. Luther was the best driver, it was a smart idea to put him with them.

As the long line of cars started to back away when suddenly armed men who looked like stick figures with sticks in distance, started to pour out from the curve of the hill at the top.

"SHIT." Jake was still in my ear. I didn't even realise that.

"What can you see?" I asked, getting my gun out. All the cars were bullet proof and bullets were bouncing off the metal of the car but we needed to attack too. As the driver rolled down the hill, Javi and I rolled the windows down and stuck two semi-automatic rifle and aimed it at them.

We started spraying the bullets uphill. A couple of men ran back, some ducked and some flat out dropped to the ground. There was a pause between gun fires from both ends.

"Get in, I'm flipping." The driver, Sullivan, barked. Javi moaned, dropped the gun on the floor and buckled in.

Once turned, started to attract bullets but with the cars before were, wheezed down the hill, giving us enough space to floor it. The curve of the hill protected us from their sight.

"Fuck." Javi moaned.

"Did you get shot." I turned the overhead light on to find blood pooling on the plush carpet of the Audi.

"Jake, call my personal Doctor. Javi got shot." I always carried an extra tie in the inside pocket of my suits jacket. I was sitting on the fucking thing. Scooting up, I pulled the blazer out to retrieve my tie.

"Turn." Leaning forward, I tied the thin material over the top of his gunshot wound.

"It's just a flesh wound." He grunted. "The misses is going to kill me."

"YOU'RE MARRIED?" Sullivan nearly lost control of the car as it swered right throwing me on top of him.

"FUCK." His arm hit the door. "FUCK OFF." He pushed me off of him and all I could do was laugh. I gave a loud, belly rumbling laugh. Sullivan and Javi were looking at me like I was a crazy person but at that exact moment, all I could do was laugh.

My wife was just kidnapped, my sister gave herself up to the man who brutalized her as a child in exchange for my wife's freedom ad all I can do is now laugh. I laughed because all the Capones were dead. I laughed because we just pulled off one of our most intense mission without any of our men being killed.

I laughed because my friend was shot and I just landed on him, making his arm hurt twice. I laughed because Sullivan didn't know Javi was married and we've all been working together for 8 years.

"You're a crazy bastard." Javi laughed to, holding on to his arm.

"Okay, guys. Sorry to interrupt but I think someone needs to get the drone now. The men are retrieving back to the mansion. We are free." Jake cracked his knuckles in my ear.

"Where's the remote?"

It was in the front seat. Javi instructed me through the whole process of bringing the drone right on top of the car. We stopped for a second to get out and fetch it but once in, I left it in the front passenger seat and then enjoyed the last stretch home.

I could tell it was going to be a long night but all I wanted to do was wrap myself around my wife and sleep for a year. Exhaustion overloaded my body. I'd been running on adrenaline throughout the whole night. First my wife then my sister, if I'd lost them both, I might have just walked in front of a gun voluntarily.

"By the way, Boss, Alberto was calling he wants to know where the fuck we disappeared to?" Sullivan informed.

"Oh fuck." I completely forgot about Tio. I'm sure Lucia didn't inform him about what she was going to do either so now we all have to explain to him about what happened.

"Fine." Sighing heavily, I closed my eyes. "Sullivan, drop me off at home. Tell Luther to drop all of them at mine, including Jamie. They can take the Range Rover back to the hotel. Tell someone bring my Tio to mine as well" I ordered. "Then take this one to Doctor Chekhovsky. Make sure he's all patched up before you drop him off at the Misses." I patted Javi's good arm.

"Wait, is he really married?" Sullivan asked through the rare view mirror.

"Yes. He fell in love in a strip club with a stripper and then got married 1 year later. That was 3 years ago." When I took out my phone, there was a text from Lucia but it said from Mariana. I didn't have the heart to read it yet, so I locked the phone and carried on watching the view of L.A.

"You didn't invite me to the wedding?" Sullivan sounded annoyed.

"They eloped."

"How the fuck do you do know so much about my life?" Javi punched on my arm. It actually hurt even though I flexed in time. Him and Gabe were fucking monsters.

"Whatever, screw you both." Sullivan sulked.

This was our normal life. Killing, running, . As if I hadn't gone through my second most terrifying moments of my life. I needed to calm down before I confronted my wife and sister.
