24 - Return To Sender

"Todoroki! Intruders!"

We both looked to the exit to find Iida, out of breathe and hands gripping either side of the door frame. A small angry hum came from Todoroki as he strode towards his navy haired companion.

"Thank you, Iida. Y/N, grab a handgun and then go to Uraraka's room." He ordered, giving me a glance from over his shoulder. I gave a hesitant nod as I dashed over to the racks filled with hand guns and picked an identical one to Todoroki's. The duo had left, probably going to sort out whatever chaos had unfolded.

Sighing, I tucked it into my pants, covering it with my shirt. I walked out the room and locked the door, just in case these intruders got down here and used the weapons against us. I ran to the elevator and pressed the button repeatedly, hoping it would open with no one occupying it.

The doors opened after awhile and to my relief, it was empty. I hopped inside and pressed for the eleventh floor. I was met with the reflective metal as the lift began to rise, zooming past about nine floors. Once the doors opened again, I began to walk down the hallway, when I abruptly stopped.

There stood Bakugou, kicking down a door with sparks igniting his palms. I don't think he noticed me, but I didn't want to stand around and find out. Quickly, I spun on my heel and hightailed it back to the elevator.

"Oi!" I cursed under my breathe as I made it back to the elevator and slammed my hand in the button to close the door. I saw Bakugou sprinting down the hallway, his eyes fixated on mine. I felt frozen as I spammed the button, pleading for the doors to close faster.

It was almost fully closed when an explosion forced me back, making me hit the back of the elevator. I gave a short scream, watching in horror as the doors were pried open, ripping the males most likely expensive suit. I winced as I let myself fall to the floor, the pain in my back flaring up once again.

"Why the fuck were you running from me?!"  He yelled, grabbing me by my collar as he lifted me to his eye level. I pushed him back, trying to kick him.

"I don't know!" I yell back, tears forming in my eyes. He shook me as he growled. I also felt the sudden jolt of the elevator, meaning that we we're going up.

"What the fuck do you mean you don't know?!" He exclaimed, tightening his grip. At this point, tears had fallen, both from the pain in my back and the pressure of Bakugou roasting me out. I shook my head, eyes pressed tightly together.

"I don't know! Okay?! I was just told to run away from you." My voice weakened at the end, and the tight grip on my collar was lessened.

"Fucking hell, you need to be more independent, dumbass." I felt my legs give out as I was lowered to the floor, now in a sitting position. I slowly opened my eyes to see his expression softened, still holding a small glare however. His hand went from holding my collar to tilting my chin upwards, so that I was directly facing him.

"Why did you come here?" I ask, my voice quiet and soft. He gave a grunt, massaging my chin with his thumb.

"It wasn't my idea to come and save your sorry ass, you know." He replied, almost dodging my question.

"But you're apart of it. So why do you always keep coming back for me?" I whisper, gazing into his eyes. He seemed surprised by my question, but covered it up by looking downwards.

"I don't fucking know." He growled, lowering his hand from my chin, and setting it on his knees in his crouching position. "Maybe it's because-" the doors of the elevator opened, making voices very prominent.

"Uwah! The bullets bounce right off him!" A voice I recognised as Midoriya screamed, it was hard to hear in the midst of the gun fire. I winced as I looked behind Bakugou to see the chaos. Midoriya was firing a gun at Kirishima, to which the bullets just ricocheted off him because of his quirk and pelted into the wall.

Bakugou stood from his crouched position and turned to his compadre, who was advancing on the smaller, green male.

"Oi, shitty hair! I got her, let's get the fuck outta here!" He yelled, making the red head whip his head around to see us both. Midoriya, also turned his head, his expression one that had just seen a ghost.

"Y/N..." He whispered. I tried to shrink away, my eyes red and puffy from the short lived crying and crumpled in the corner of the elevator. I tried to give him a smile, as if to reassure him, but I just couldn't smile when he was looking at me like that.

"Alright! Let's bounce then!" The red head gave the greenette a hard blow to the side of his head while he was still in shock from looking at me, effectively sending him backwards, into the wall. I gasped, lerching forwards.

"Kiri! No!" I screamed, stopping the male mid air as he was about to deliver another punch to the other. He gave me a confused look before stepping away and walking towards us. I stood up with a groan and tried to dash over to the greenette's side when an arm shot out and stopped me.

"Are you fucking stupid?! Shitty Deku doesn't deserve your pity!" Bakugou yelled, holding my flailing figure back. I stomped on his foot, elbowed his gut and tried anything else, but it did no good against the stronger male.

"Please! Just let me help him!" I scream, giving a begging look to the ash blonde. He huffed before wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me back to the elevator. No matter how much I kicked and screamed for him to let me go, he wouldn't budge.

Eventually, I was trapped in the corner of the elevator while Kirishima picked the floor and Bakugou boxed me in with his body.

"Fucking hell, why are you being so goddamn difficult!" He seethed, a prominent growl on his face. I also had a growl on my face as I crossed my arms, deciding that it would be a losing battle with the both of them in here. I kept my mouth shut, looking away from the male in front of me. He growled, obviously agitated, while his red headed companion gave a sigh, crouching down to my level on the floor as well, a toothy smile on his face.

"Its alright now, Y/N, you'll be happy in our care. Instead of this crazy bunch." He smiled, happiness evident in his voice. I still, however, didn't look at him.

"What the fuck is up with you now?! As far as I'm concerned, we're saving your sorry ass." He huffed, standing up with his arms crossed firmly over his chest, facing the door.

"What if... I don't want to leave..?" I whisper, laying my head on my knees, which were planted against my chest. I swear Bakugou's head could've snapped by how fast he twisted his head. Kirishima stood, quickly holding an arm out in front of the angered male.

"What do you mean? Surely you must not like it here, right?" The red head asks, hope in his tone. He peered down at me as I finally looked back at him, his red orbs pleading.

"WE WENT THROUGH ALL THIS FUCKING TROUBLE TO COME GET YOU, SO YOU'D- MMFH!!" Kirishima sweatdropped, covering the other males mouth with his hand, almost shutting him up.

"Calm down, just give her some time." He looked back down at me, a gentle smile on his face. "Don't worry Y/N, we're gonna get you out of here." He promised, giving a nod. I was about to say something, when the opening of the elevator doors cut me off. Bakugou swiped the males hand covering his mouth off and trotted out, fists clenched by his side.

Kirishima offered me a hand, which I took after a few seconds of staring at it. I grunted, trying to ignore the searing pain in my back, but it was quite obvious by the blood soaked patch on the elevator wall. Thankfully, they both walked out before they could spot it. I shivered at the now cold shirt, the back being covered in blood, as I walked to with Kirishima, the red head keeping a close eye on me.

"Where are the others, Bakubro?" He asked, hollaring at the male in front of us. He shrugged, walking out the entrance, the sliding glass doors opening for him.

"The fuck do I know. They better be making their way down here soon, or else." He grumbled, looking both sides of the street before turning back to us. "Anyways, let's get to the hospital so that old bitch can heal her." He glanced at me, his crimson orbs gleaming in the darkness. "You're bleeding, a-fucking-gain, aren't 'ya?" He smirked, discreetly telling me that he noticed. I gave a sigh.

"Guilty as charged." I shrugged, shoulders sagging. I saw a flush of panic cross Kirishima's face, but I dismissed it. Instead, I kept walking exiting the building with Bakugou.

"Oi shitty hair, tell the other twats to meet us back at base. I'll meet you there later." I glanced back at the red head to see him nod.

"You got it boss!" He cheered, prancing back towards the elevator. I winced, hurriedly following Bakugou as he left. There was silence as we walked, although it wasn't an awkward silence, more comfortable I guess. Still, I was on edge. I looked around, seeing neon signs light up the pathways, and charter coming from nearby cafes and such. It was almost comforting to have a few seconds of peace in this horrid and corrupt city.

"Why didn't you want to come back to me?"
