Chapter 16 - An Encountered with Poopilicious Humans
Andrew got up to go to the supermarket as her mom and dad went to his uncle Ben's house for a short vacation. They wanted to take Andrew as well but he said he had to study besides, he got another promotional offer. He needed to play the new military game in his channel.
They offered a real good money.
Now that his parents weren't in home, Avaloth could venture the whole house and follow him whenever he goes.
He was making their breakfast as Avaloth was sitting on the kitchen slab munching on the last piece of an half eaten cinnamon roll.
"Andrew McAllen! Make me cinnamon rolls!" She demanded.
"I don't have time. I'll buy some on the way to the supermarket." He said and slid the plate at her while he took his seat.
"Are we going somewhere?"
"Not you. I am going to buy some groceries."
"I wanna go..." She mumbled.
"No. The owner of the shop knows my parents."
"Then I will wait outside?" She gave her most cutest smile as Andrew looked at her with suspicious gaze.
"Fine. But don't cause any trouble."
Andrew took his mother's car as Avaloth sat on the passenger seat. He drove them to the large shop in their town.
He parked the car as Avaloth and he, both hopped out. He said, "Wait here and don't go anywhere. I will go grab everything quickly."
Avaloth nodded as Andrew went toward the mart. As it was weekend, the mart seemed a bit crowded. He took a basket and started to put the needed things in his basket.
His eyes followed the products and he recalled he needed flour and cinnamon powder. Although he had no plans to make cinnamon rolls, it wouldn't be any harm to have it. Just in case.
He was about to reach the small bottle when another hand took it. It was the last piece. He looked at the other person who took it before him and saw it was Jason.
"Wow! Andrew. Didn't think, I would meet you here." He said, giving him a smile.
Andrew nodded. "Yeah, some groceries shopping. Mom and dad is not home."
Jason's bruises were almost gone and it seemed he was interacting with people now. He used to be very reserved because of Chad. But after they got suspended, Kason was back to normal.
"So, cooking for yourself?"
"Yeah."
They didn't chat much as Andrew already had everything what he needed in his basket and he said, "I am going to the counter. See ya."
"Hold on. I am almost done." Jason said as Andrew waited. He saw Jason took a few things on the way to the counter as they both joined the line.
The queue was long in the counter and Andrew's eyes moved toward the entrance of the mart where he could easily spot the parking lot. He had expected to see Avaloth beside the car but she wasn't there.
Worry came crashing down on him as his eyes moved to see where she was. But she was nowhere to be found.
Jason must have sensed his tension as he asked, "Looking for someone?"
"Umm... no." Andrew looked back at the line before him. It wasn't long but still had three people.
He wanted to go there and see where she went. But the crowd! He looked behind him and saw there was a large line formed after him and Jason. He cursed in his breath. If he went away now, he'd have to wait again.
Thankfully, the man before him didn't have much things and he hoped she didn't cause any mess or didn't vanish again. His heart thumped and he bit his lips as his body felt restless.
The man before him went near the counter as Andrew waited patiently. He left after billing the cans of bear.
Andrew put all the groceries on the counter and said the man to do it quickly. However, the man was doing in his pace.
After he put everything on packets, he paid the man and left immediately. As he went near his car, he saw Avaloth was on the other side of the car and a group of boys surrounded her. They weren't taller than Andrew but they were taller than Avaloth.
His brows knitted on his forehead. The group seemed familiar. It was Dawnson's brother, Kevin and his group. They were from the same school but different classes.
Dawnson was the school bully from Andrew's elder sister's batch. It seemed like he was no less than his brother. But he didn't come to school much and became more like thugs. He acquired some friends from the town who were older than him and Andrew could see tattoos and piercings on their skin. Probably local college students.
As he reached the car, he heard Avaloth hissing at Kevin, "Touch me and I will claw your heart out, you lowly human."
"Little spitfire she is, isn't she?" One of the members from the group commented as other joined him in fits of laughter.
"What's happening here?" Andrew asked as his eyes fell on the boys. They wore loose clothes and ripped jeans along with chains and some other west wild clothing to portray they were 'The Thugs'. Some even had emo cut hair which made Andrew to want to question the local college's management.
Avaloth looked back. As their eyes met she felt like relieved and was about to come to Andrew's side but Kevin put his hands to her sides, capturing her in his cocoon. Avaloth was shocked as she felt cornered and she sunk back but her face twisted in anger.
However, it was nothing compared to Andrew's cold, dark glares that he sent from his place. Anger rolled down from his body and the group could feel the intensity as they looked at him warily.
"Kevin, what the hell are you doing here?" He asked with a dark voice.
"You know me?" He asked, a bit surprised. It seemed he didn't know Andrew but it wasn't something to be surprised as Kevin hardly ever came to school. After middle school, he came only to do some business and that was it. And also for exams.
But before anyone could answer his question, Avaloth's fingers reached Kevin's face and she scratched him like a wild cat.
"Gahhh!" Kevin screamed as he stepped back and Avaloth came running toward Andrew's side.
"You, little bitch!" Kevin said even though his eyes teared up but he didn't failed to portray his anger.
One of the group's members said, "Damn! She is surely a spitfire."
"Shut up! Why are you all impressed at her?" Kevin asked as the others laughed.
"Because she is cute." The one with more tattoos than skin said while eyeing Avaloth as Avaloth peeked at them from behind Andrew with a displeased and angry face.
"Anyways... Whoever you are, can you just move? I need to teach that girl a lesson." Kevin said.
"She is with me." Andrew said.
"Boo..." The group shouted as the one with emo cut said, "That's bad. Her boyfriend has arrived. We need to go, I guess."
Kevin seemed a bit displeased as he asked, "How do you know me?"
"You are Dawnson's brother."
Kevin raised a brow. "So you know my brother?"
"No. He was from my sister's batch."
"Who is your sister?"
"Carson."
"What! Carson McAllen?" He laughed. "You are that boneless chick's brother?"
Andrew's palms clenched. Carson used to suffer a lot because of his brother, Dawnson. They started to call her names because his sister could not fight back and would always rely on their parents. But that didn't make her boneless. She was always depressed and scared to go to school. Even if she was a good student with high scores, there were times, she wanted to give up studies.
Andrew had seen her suffer but he was still a child and had no power to protect her.
Avaloth probably sensed the growing tension in Andrew's posture as she looked at them with her best glare and stood in front of him. "You! Poopilious human! You don't even have bones. All I could see your head filled with poops and dung. Are you sure you weren't calling yourself boneless?"
Kevin's face twisted as Avaloth kept calling him 'poop'.
The group couldn't contain their laughter as they found it amusing while it made Kevin mad.
"You must me the brother of that coward sister of yours, so, don't mind me if I teach your little girlfriend some lessons." Kevin brought out knuckles as he wore them and the group behind him encouraged him.
"Woah! Woah! Woah!" A voice said as all of them looked at the direction and it was Jason.
"I am sure it must be some kind of misunderstanding. Please don't fight here." He said.
"And who the hell are you?" The tattooed guy asked, giving him a sneer as he interrupted the drama which was about to happen.
Jason seemed to be frozen at the place as he saw the group. He probably didn't think before interrupting. There were some thugs present as well but he didn't saw it as he thought Andrew might have been in a trouble.
Jason asked Andrew, "Err... You know them?"
"Yeah, he knows me." Kevin said, "My brother used to bully the shit out of his elder sister." He smirked.
Jason looked at Andrew with wide eyes but Avaloth said, "Yes, because your brother's brain is epitome of poops. No wonder, you both should be called 'The Poop Brothers'.
The group laughed again and Jason looked at Avaloth with more wider eyes.
"Err... Who is she?" Jason asked.
"This one is his girlfriend whom I am about to give some lessons." Kevin said as he cracked his knuckles.
Jason looked at Andrew with a shocked face and looked at Avaloth with worried eyes.
Andrew, all these while was trying to calm himself down as he wanted to smash Kevin's jaws but that wasn't how he did things. He wasn't someone to casually get into fights.
"Kevin." He said, his eyes turning dark, "Touch my girl and I will make your life a living Hell."
