Chapter 4: Keeping Our Guards Up
Nobody's POV:
"OH. MY. GOD. YA'LL MEET THOSE SEXY MEN FROM THE STUDENT COUNCIL?!?" Maggie exclaimed with her eyes beaming in excitement while jumping out of her seat. Her voice is so loud that it caught all of the students' attention where they look at them with confused looks. Kyra shushes her and Jackie push her back down to her seat.
"Will ya keep it down?!" Jackie shout at her, but with a mute tone.
"Oops sorry." She whispered as she sits back down.
"Sooo what are y'all gonna do now?" Maggie asked.
"Don't know and I ain't going back there again." Jackie bluntly said with her arms fold.
"Me...either....." Kyra shyly agreed with her sister while glancing down at the floor.
"Well...it sounds like a huge pain for y'all, but...." Maggie crept a smirk and covers her mouth with her left hand as she lets out a soft giggle.
"Seeing you guys and the Student Council together might be too bad...since y'all are like Bella and Edward from twilight, but better." She muttered while giggling which had Jackie and Kyra blushing and frowning at her assumption.
"TAKE IT SERIOUSLY!!!" They both yelled as Kyra karate chops her in the head.
"Owie...I was just joking.." She mumbled while stroking her head before pushing her glasses up.
"But you're right, it's best for you guys to avoid them as soon as possible since they're you-know-what." She whispered to them.
"That's what were going to do Maggie." Jackie informed her as the bell start to rang.
"Shit, there goes the bell. Ughhhh I definitely don't wanna go to math class!" Maggie whined while slouching on the table. Jackie patted her back out of sympathy.
"Hang in there girl, you'll pull through." She reassured her.
"Yeah, yeah, get outta here ya silly gooses." She playfully said as both girls giggled.
"See you later Maggie." Kyra grin as she, her sister, and Maggie left the cafeteria and went their separate ways.
"Hey Jackie." Kyra asked.
"Yeah?" Jackie replied.
"How do you think Juliet and Delilah are handling this?" Kyra asked curiously.
"Oh relax, they'll be fine." She reassured her.
At least I hope so....
She thought worriedly while walking aside with her youngest sister.
Delilah's POV:
Later in the hallway, I was so caught up in the middle of my thoughts that are flowing with curiosity and anticipation when Rem assumed that "we" are responsible for summoning them. Confused, I turn to my older sister who is rummaging her locker.
"Hey Juliet?"
"Yes Delilah?" She replied while rummaging her locker.
"Rem said earlier that we are responsible for transporting them to our world...why do they think that it's us?" I asked her as Juliet close her locker and looks at me with a stern gaze.
"I have absolutely no idea why, but what concerns me the most is all four of us are being targeted by them and we must keep our best lookout. That's all." She bluntly reassured.
"But still, there's gotta be a reason why they're here. Do you think that there's some kind of hex going on here? Maybe we could do some research on it." I suggested.
"Are you serious? Me investing on a devil's personal life? Absolutely not, I rather keep my distance away from him if I were you. Rem and the student council may have a reason to summon us here, but I would never step foot into that place ever again." She coldly stated.
"But-"
"But nothing, the student council are watching our every move and we're going to avoid them a hundred percent, is that clear Delilah?" She sternly reminded her as Delilah furrows her brows and clench her fists visibly annoyed with her older sister's dismissive response to the situation. Just before she responds, a bunch of fan boys gather around Juliet where I was immediately pushed aside from her admirers.
"Hey Juliet, thanks for the help yesterday!"
"Yeah you were so generous!"
"So Juliet, I was wondering if you want to hang out after school. There's this new Italian restaurant that I want to try and it'll be great if you come with me."
"Hey no fair! I was going to ask her out!"
"Says you! I was here first!"
While all of the boys are arguing and fighting over Juliet, I got worried and I tried to push these rowdy boys away but no avail, they were too strong and persistent to deal with. Juliet knows what I'm doing and gives me a reassuring grin.
"It's alright Delilah, I can handle this."
"But-"
"It's alright I'll be fine, just go to class." She advised me while warding away the crazy boys.
"Are you sure?" I asked in concern.
"I'm sure, now go." She assured me again as I sighed reluctantly.
"Fine." I begrudgingly responded as I left the hall and head straight to my next class with a frown probably because of the boys didn't give me a chance to respond to my older sister.
"Stupid fan boys. I mean come on, why her? Why Juliet? It's always Juliet this, Juliet that! Sure she's independent, smart, and helpful, but what about me? I have good qualities too!" I grumbled, but I soon paused and widen my eyes where I sighed and put my hand on my forehead feeling ashamed of what I said in my mind just now.
No, I can't...she's my older sister after all. I shouldn't be thinking like this.
I remind myself trying not to fall into jealousy.
"Delilah!!" My thoughts soon got interrupted when I felt someone charging me with a strong embrace.
"Gah!" I shrilled when I turn my head to see my good friend and classmate of cooking class, Noemi Calloway.
***This is Noemi^***
"Goodness sakes Noemi, don't scare me like that." I sighed in relief as the cute ravenette with round pinkish red eyes let out a small giggle.
"Sorry Delilah, I was just looking for you. Cooking class is about to start." She remind me as I sighed in response.
"I know that Noemi, thank you." I replied with a not-so-happy tone which Noemi took notice immediately.
"Did something between you and Juliet again?" She asked curiously with a concern look.
"Yes, but mainly because of what happen this morning." I answered.
"Oh right, how was the meeting with student council?" She asked curiously which had me flinch a bit where I reminisced about what happened back in the student council. Not wanting to know the truth, I clench her fists and fake a smile.
"It was...okay, my older sister tried to clear the misunderstanding, but...I feel like they're still on to us as soon as we left the room...." I told her with a half truth and half lie response. Noemi looked at me silently for a second before she responds.
"...Alright then, but if something like this does happen, just tell me okay?" She reassured me as I grinned a bit.
"Yeah you're right. Anyway, we better get going otherwise the teacher will scold at us for arriving late." I informed her as she nod her head and we're dash through the halls to our next class.
Hopefully those devils won't cause any trouble for us this time....
I thought while running with my friends where this crazy day has just begun.
