Chapter 7

<Y/n p.o.v.>

Well we're currently laying low.

I asked Ika to get Asia and I some groceries whilst Asia was asleep.

He was kind enough to make us some breakfast too.

Once he delivered it we ate before we decided to watch some TV.

We decided this day would be about information, the next would be when we'd decided to move on out.

"So Asia, tell me about your story and I'll tell you mine" I said.

"Ok...but could I atleast where your shirt again, it's comfy" She asked.

She blushed a bit.

"Keep looking that cute and it's gonna get harder to say no" I said.

She giggled before putting on my shirt.

"When I was a baby I was abandoned by my real parents. They left me in front of a church in a small town in Europe. I was told when they found me I wouldn't stop crying. The sweet Nuns there brought me up. One day when I was eight a sad little puppy who was hurt real bad found it's way into the church where I lived. I prayed as hard as I could that God would spare him, and when I did a miracle happened" She said.

"Your Sacred Gear" I said.

She nodded.

"Because of my power I was immediately taken to a larger church. Men and women from all over the world would visit when they were injured or sick, and I was told to heal all of them. The idea that I possessed this thing that could actually help other people made me so happy. I finally felt like I had a purpose" She said happily.

"I'm glad you wanted to help people. I thought you were pure before but damn...your parents didn't deserve your purity" I said.

She hugged me happily.

Then her face turned a little sad so I held her close.

"But then one day I came across someone who had fallen and was in bad shape. I was able to heal him but...he wasn't a man" She said.

"He was a Devil wasn't he" I said.

"They called me names and threatened to kill me" She said.

I hugged her tightly.

"Not on my watch" I said.

She giggled.

"They said anyone who had my kind of power was a heretic so I had no choice but to run away" She said.

"And after you ran you made it to the Fallen Angels' grasp huh" I said.

"Yes, but I'll never forget who I am. I say my prayers and try my best to live a good life. They're awful. They do such horrible, evil things and all in the name of God. This suffering has to be a test of my faith. But if I can overcome these trials someday I know, my hopes and dreams will come true. That's what I believe anyway" She said.

"What are your dreams, I'll try to make them come true" I said.

She smiled.

"To make lots of life-long friends. To get to know them well and do cool things. To be able to have fun together, and care for each other. It's kind of silly" She said.

"Your dream is a beautiful one. I love making friends cause the ones that stick around end up being the coolest ever. And if your one of those friends then you and I will do many cool things together. My brother would probably adopt you as his little sister and he'd take care of you all the same. Either way my friends are my family and I'll protect them to the bitter end...do you wanna be my friend, Asia Argento" I asked.

She cried a bit before nodding.

I hugged her close.

"YOU'RE SO DAMN ADORABLE" I said as I grabbed her and hugged her.

"S-Stop it that tickles" She laughed.

Once I put her down I wiped her tears.

"You're my family Asia. So you better be prepared to do cool things and have tons of good memories" I said.

"I will" She said confidently.

We smiled.

"So...what's your story" She asked.

I cleared my throat.

"Long ago when I was a kid I was put through a lot of shit. I went into fights, I lived in an orphanage with horrible kids and adults, and the best part was that I was branded a monster. I always thought I was different. Didn't realize that different meant being abandoned by those who are supposed to protect you" I said.

"That's terrible" She said.

"As I got older I realized how strong I was, and that strength made others afraid of me. And I was also a magnet...for Demons" I said.

She gasped.

"Monsters from straight out of your nightmares, they haunted my existence every day and night. After a while I realized that my life was forever tied to these encounters, so I decided to fight and kill the Demons. With my strength I killed many demons, saved many people...but I was still viewed a monster" I said sadly.

Asia hugged me tightly.

I pat her head.

"Despite being young I fought my way all the way to a place called Devil May Cry. The owner of the place was a woman, a child of the Dark Knight Sparda" I said.

"Who's Sparda" Asia asked.

"Many years ago a Demon lord rose up to power, becoming King of the Underworld. His trusted warrior Sparda fought back against the Demon hordes in order to save humanity. Once he sealed the portal between Earth and Hell he was forever known as the Dark Knight that saved our world. He fell in love with a human and had two children. One of them owned the business Devil May Cry. Whilst I was killing some Demons she found me and tried to fight me. She was far stronger than me so she beat me easily. I didn't give up so with my strength I punched her into a building. I thought she was just another human...until she threw her sword at me, pinning me to the wall so she could have a look at me" I said.

Asia looked a little scared.

"I can stop if you want" I said.

"No please keep going" She said.

"After she held me against the wall she had a good look at me and said that 'we were the same'. After she took me down she carried me all the way to her business. Once I was there she asked me about who my parents where and who I was. I didn't have much to tell but she knew I wasn't lying. She then decided to look after me herself as an adoptive big sister. Over time she taught me how to fight, how to survive, and how to find the best pizza places in a city" I said laughing at the last bit.

Asia laughed too.

"Over time I met her sister, she was very rude. All she cared about was power, so when she tried to fight me my 'big sis' protected me which apparently granted her 'more power than she could hope for'. Once big sis' sister stood down we talked for a bit. Over the years I fell in love with the two of them. Dana and Vergillia, they were the best thing to ever happen to me...and also the worst" I said.

"How were they the worst" Asia asked.

"After some years Vergillia visited me in an apartment. She claimed that I never gave her 'the same power that my sister had' and she asked why. I told her I didn't give anything to her but my love and affection, just like I gave her. But she called me her weakness, told me she never truly loved me and tried to kill me. She would've succeeded if I didn't get to the hospital when I did. Vergillia never loved me, she simply saw me as a means for power" I said sadly.

I then trailed on my chest's scar.

"Vergillia gave me this scar" I said.

Asia sat on my stomach.

"You're not a means of power, she was wrong to not love you" She said.

She cupped my cheeks.

"You're a kind man who has a big heart. You may be half-Devil half-Human, but you're 100% a great person" She said as she laid down on my chest.

She covered us with the blanket.

"Please continue" She said.

"After an incident involving a giant plant from the Underworld and rescuing Dana and Vergillia from said Underworld, a magic letter appeared to me. It was an invitation to a tournament of some kind. So when the letter transported me I realized that there were many people from other worlds" I said.

"Like from Mars" She asked.

I chuckled.

"No but you had a good idea. What I mean is worlds similar or exactly to Earth. One or more Earths were full of animal based inhabitants. Another had squishy flying pink blobs. And you get the point I'm making. In fact the tournament is where I met my brother Ikagaki. He came from an Earth full of Angels and Demons and Witches. We had some good fights between each other and other fighters. Due to our stories and experiences being similar we adopted each other as brothers. After the God of darkness, Dharkon, and the God of light, Galeem, attacked us and enslaved our comrades we set them free and defeated the two Gods. After the Gods were defeated we were sent to this world. So that's our story" I said.

Asia had tears in her eyes.

"It's not that bad" I said.

"Y-You went through so much pain...I'm so sorry" She said.

"Pain is something you get used to, especially in my line of work. And knowing me the pain won't go away any time soon. I am cursed with walking a path of pain" I said.

She grabbed me by my shoulders and looked at me in the eyes.

"Then let me and your friends help ease the pain and carry your burdens" She said.

She then held my hands.

"Let us help make your journey pleasant one" She said.

"I don't want to force my pain on anyone" I said.

"You won't" She said hugging me tightly.

I hugged back after a little bit.

But about what she said...helping ease my pain.

Can my pain be eased?

Dana...what do I do?
