"I will kill you if you're taking me to a strip club," Alya threatened after we walked out of the Foster building.
Although we were holding hands and acting like a couple, she was giving me intense death glares.
I laughed and tilted my head back.
"No, I wouldn't do that- well actually I would. Just let me know when you find one around," I said, playfully bumping my shoulder into hers.
She didn't even laugh.
Everyone laughs at my jokes.
Especially my little rebel.
Well, she doesn't, but she at least insults me or something.
That's why I love her.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Why so glum, chum?" I asked in concern.
Even though I made jokes, I was worried about her.
She seemed down.
"It's nothing really-"
I stopped before she could finish her sentence.
We were still on the Foster Care property, that's how far we've come.
Our date didn't even start yet.
"What is it, little rebel?" I asked her with worry.
When she finally looked at me, her eyes were filled with sadness.
"Sawyer, he-"
"I will murder him," I said through my teeth and turned back to the entrance doors.
"Draven, wait!" she yelled, but I was faster than her.
I was already at the doors while she was twenty meters behind me.
"Sorry!" someone said as I bumped into him.
My rage grew bigger.
"Just the person I was looking for," I said and grabbed the collar of his shirt, throwing him out of the building.
I will literally murder him.
He landed on his ass and was groaning in pain.
"What the fuck is your problem?" he spat out in disgust, but I could see through his facade.
He was afraid.
"Aw, are you mad at me?" I asked pouting. "Good, because I don't give a fuck."
"What the fuck is your problem?!" he yelled again.
He had the nerve to raise his voice at me?
Draven Callum?
Rage filled my eyes as I glared at him.
"Alya, hold my morals," I said, not looking in her direction. "I've got some sketchy shit to take care of."
I heard her sighing. "Didn't know you had any," she mumbled under breath.
"Listen, mate-" he said, but I already punched him in the jaw.
He winced in pain.
"What the fuck did you do to Alya, huh?"
"I don't know-"
I punched him again, this time harder as blood dripped down his face.
He was still sitting on the floor and I crouched in front of him.
"I asked you a question!" I yelled in his face with rage.
He flinched when I raised my voice and closed his eyes.
He is such a pussy.
Not even worth my touch.
"We j-just talked," he finally answered, his voice trembling.
I came closer and he closed his eyes, waiting for another punch.
"Listen to me now, twat," I said slowly and quietly. "You will stay away from her. You will not talk or look or breathe anywhere near her."
He was holding his breath. "Am I being clear?!" I yelled and he nodded his head as fast as he could.
"Crystal clear," he whispered and I nodded satisfied.
"And if you want to be on my level, start climbing, mate," I said, tapping his shoulder. "Because you'll never get there."
"Uh, Draven, I think Mrs. Embers is calling the cops," Alya said, looking up behind me with terror.
I got up and followed her gaze.
And she was right.
"Shit!" I yelled and ran, taking her hand into mine.
We sprinted as fast as we could, getting the hell away from there. Once we were off the property, we turned left and entered a beautiful forest.
"We have to hide and wait for them to leave. We'll say it was an accident and-"
"Stop talking, baby," I said, trying to catch a breath. "You had me at 'we'll make it look like an accident'."
She flashed me a smile and leaned against a tree, also breathless. "I hate running."
"Really? Because I love it."
She raised her eyebrows. "How come?"
"I got to look at your ass for ten whole minutes," I said, smirking.
She lightly punched my chest and laughed along with me.
But then, she stopped.
"Why did you hurt him?" her voice got quiet and serious.
"Because I create chaos. He fucking hurt you and he couldn't get away with it," I said, still angry at him.
Fucking brainless idiot.
Instead of continuing to worry, she grabbed my neck and pulled me closer, imprinting her lips into mine.
I pulled her even closer, putting my hands on her butt and deepening the kiss.
She turned around and pushed me against a tree.
Oh, fuck.
Here we go again.
"I want you in the worst way - your scent, taste, the feel of your bare skin on mine... and I want it right now," I complained as she trailed kisses down my neck.
She pressed herself harder against me and I could see that playful grin on her face.
"I'm not as sexually frustrated as you, Draven," she whispered seductively into my ear.
"You make me hard, little rebel, and currently... I'm sexually destroying you in my head," I said, breathless.
She laughed and stepped away, a victorious smile plastered on her face.
Oh, she's good.
"That's too bad, because if we weren't in the forest... I might have gone all the way," she said, whirling a strand of her long hair around her finger.
I closed my eyes and bumped my head against a tree behind me.
"It's not fair," I groaned, but she laughed. "You can't do this to me."
"Are you sexually frustrated, Draven?" she repeated, kissing my lips again.
She gently bit it and moved away, leaving me mesmerized.
She is whiskey in a teacup.
Half heaven, half hell.
And it's driving me insane.
"I'm not sexually frustrated... fuck I am. Uh, I mean, I'm not sexually frustrated as, fuck me please. Fuck," I groaned, giving up.
She laughed, obviously amused.
"Look, I'm pretty sure I deserved sex today, but whatever," I said, rolling my eyes.
It's not whatever.
I want her.
I want to kiss every part of her body and hear her screaming my name.
I simply want everything about her.
"What for, punching an angel?" she asked sarcastically.
"Uh, yeah. If you haven't noticed already, you won over my heart. That deserves sex."
She suddenly stiffened.
"Draven, why do you love me?" she spat out, looking at the floor.
Well, that took me by surprise.
"Why wouldn't I?" I asked, cupping her chin.
Her blue eyes were filled with worry and... sadness.
"I won't be enough for you, I'm worthl-"
"Don't you even dare to say it!" I yelled and she stumbled back.
My eyes softened and I took her hand into mine. "There is no reason to lie to me, little rebel. I get life, I know shit happens. Be straight forward with me."
She separated herself from me and sighed in... annoyance?
She turned away, her back facing me, and tilted her head down.
"I wish you know how bad it fucked me up," she whispered, loud enough for me to hear. "My parents, they told me nobody will love me and I will never be enough."
I stopped breathing, it felt like someone punched me in the chest.
Who the fuck do they think they are to say those things to her?
I gently took her hand into mine and swirled her around to face me.
I embraced her body and we sat on the ground. I rested my chin on the top of her head and her face was pressed against my chest, listening to my heart.
"I'll say this one time, so you better listen, baby," I said softly, cupping her chin. "I love you, okay? You are the first and only person I loved and will love. It's as simple as that."
A lonely tear escaped her eye and I quickly wiped it away. "I love you too," she said, pressing her lips into mine.
"Let's change the subject, okay?" I asked and she nodded her head, still sniffing.
"Can I ask you questions about Hell?" she suggested and I nodded.
She had every right to know everything.
Because I want to take her down there with me.
"Why am I important?" she finally asked, after thinking for some time.
"You are a prophetess," I said, emphasizing her worth. "You will predict something that will change the way Heaven and Hell work."
"Is that why you hang out with me?" she asked, sounding insecure.
I shook my head. "I already told you. But, I was sent to Earth to find you and bring you to Hell with me. It was an accident you were at Foster Home with me."
"So you knew I was a Sybil?"
I laughed. "Well, actually, no," I said, scratching the back of my neck. "When Omega arrived to check up on me, he pointed it out like it was obvious. I had no idea."
When I finished my sentence, she let out a deep breath like she was holding it in forever.
She looked relieved.
"So you plan to take me to Hell?"
I nodded. "That's the plan. Angels want you in Heaven, too. And if I don't bring you to Hell, I won't become the Devil."
Soon, I realized how I had no emotion behind it.
I didn't care if I become the Devil, as long as she is with me.
"But I wouldn't force you to come with me," I added, letting her know she has a choice.
Even if it breaks my heart.
She nodded her head. "So, what's Hell like?"
I laughed, which surprised her. "Well, it's actually not bad, if you are not dead. We live in a Palace and it's pretty luxurious. We have libraries, pools, we hold balls."
"Really? I thought it would be horrible," she said, looking at me with eyes wide opened.
"It is horrible for the souls there, but if you came, you wouldn't see any of them. Everybody there would look human to you," I informed her.
"Would my looks change?" she asked, completely interested in this.
I nodded. "You would look like one of us, which is not bad. I'm even hotter as a demon."
I honestly think she would love it there.
"Hell was actually really boring for me, though. I always pulled stunts while Omega ruled because I had nobody to hang out with. In tradition, I should've inherited the Throne by blood, but the last stunt I did was, well, too much," I explained, remembering the incident.
She laughed. "What did you do?" she asked and poked my stomach.
"Oh, I spilled slime that Slyvs let out of their body on the entire Kingdom, including my parents. They freaked out and got so angry," I laughed, remembering their faces.
It was not funny when it was happening, because I was shitting my pants.
"So, you were basically the same," she pointed out and I nodded, both of us laughing.
"What else can you tell me?"
"Well, we have our guardians, Slyvs. If you're not a soul there, they are your best friend and are actually pretty cute," I said, remembering how I miss Mr. Sprinklers.
"But to the sinned souls, they are their worst enemy. They change the way they look and torment them. It's pretty sad."
"Would I-"
Suddenly, a loud noise interrupted us.
It sounded like an earthquake.
I got up and put Alya behind me, protecting her with my body.
That's when I realized what was happening.
And it was long overdue.
From the center of the forest, a deer was rising from the ground, like it was being born out of it.
He slowly came towards us, stopping a few meters away, bowing his head.
"What is that?" Alya whispered, her voice trembling.
I smiled - he looks magnificent.
His white fur was covering his entire body and he had the same blue eyes as Alya. His horns were rising with grace and were made of pure gold.
"That, my little rebel, is your guardian."
