I Will

Aero's POV

Shit is crazy. I told my parents that I was moving to Wakanda with Peter. They weren't happy, but they understood. The same goes for May. The only condition was to finish school before we moved out. It was hard, but Peter and I decided that it was better for Ben if he stayed here while we finished school. The conversation was even harder.

~flashback~

"I can't, Peter," I sobbed.

We were both crying hysterically. I was in his arms, alone in Hunter and Shuri's house, with him.

"I know, baby, I know. But this is best for him, you know it is," he cried.

"But what about Ned and Mj? What about May and my parents? It's so far away!"

"I know. But we'll be back here with Ben before you know it. And- And Ned and MJ will understand. I know they will. Everything will be okay."

~end flashback~

But finally, we talked with T'Challa and he was happy to give us a home. Even if it was just Ben for a month or two. So we just had to break the news to everyone.

"My sweet Ben," I cooed as I held him tight, standing in front of the jet that was to take Peter and I back to Queens. "Mama loves you lot, 'k? Don't forget about it. We'll be back very soon, I promise."

Peter walked up to us, a saddened excited gracing his features.

"Its time, love," he said.

I nod, sniffling back tears.

"Hey, buddy," Peter hums to Ben, "Dad loves you. We'll be back."

He kissed his forehead and I hugged him one last time before handing him to Hunter. Peter and I slowly start to walk to the jet.

"Mama! Dada!" Ben wailed behind us. I close my eyes, with an heartbreaking expression. Peter took me in his arms, and I feel him also needing confort.

Ben cries didn't stop, " Mama! Dada! No!"

The jet's hanger door closed and I broke down in Peter's arms. I feel his shoulder trembling, as he's trying to muffle his sobs.

"We have to go back! I- I can't leave him!" I wailed, even though I knew we couldn't go back.

"It's too late. It's too late," he said, crying.

I don't know when I passed out, I just remember waking up to Peter's arms around me and my parents voices hovering around the room. I think he was walking, because my back met a familiar mattress. I woke up after, feeling gross.

I felt strong arms wrapped around me and I felt safe. I felt someone's song breath on my forehead, and the smell of cologne, but it wasn't to over powering. I felt... Safe. Like everything would be okay. But would it be?

Yes.

I would.

This was only for a couple months while we finish school, then I'll be back with Ben in no time. And I don't need to worry about him, he has Hunter.

But what if he forgot about me and Peter?

No, stop.

I can't think like that. Hunter would take good care of him with Shuri and everything would be fine. We would return soon and Ben would be delighted to see us.

I was pulled out of my thoughts by a slight knock on my bedroom door. Peter didn't move. I was happy to see him sleeping so soundly. He didn't get much what with Ben and the nightmares that haunted his sleep after Europe.

"Hi, Mom," I whisper. She smiled at me sweetly and waves.

"Hi, Sweetheart," she whispered back, "I'll come back when he's awake," she said.

I nodded and noticed how her raven hair was down and flowing down her shoulders.

"Everything okay?" I ask, frowning. My mother was always so perfectionist, it was really weird to see her like that.

"Yeah, why?"

"Just... Nothing. It's fine."

"Oh, okay...oh, your cousin Cohen is coming over with his new girlfriend. Please be nice to her," she said.

Cohen and I are two years apart, him being the older. He was like my big brother and we are very protective of each other. He and Peter were good friends. They weren't texting or calling each other, but they were pretty friendly when they saw each other.

"Oh, yay!" I whisper yelled, making Peter sturdy but not wake. My mother gave a little happy hum and went away, closing the door.

"So Cohen's coming over?" A raspy, morning voice said.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't want to wake you up," I said, feeling slightly guilty.

"Its okay," he said, kissing my temple.

I smiled and snuggled closer. I felt him sigh, tension getting off of his shoulder, putting his face in my hair.

"Your hair smells good," he said randomly, his voice muffled.

I giggle a bit.

"It's true! I love the smell of it. When you get out of the shower, it smells so good, makes me think I'm even more in love with you, but then I think 'wait. I can't love her more than I already do.' Because I love too much already."

I love it when he rambles. It's so adorable.

"Well, I think you smell, so you should go take a shower," I said with a smirk.

"I was trying to give you love, here," he said with an faked-annoyed voice.

"And I'm just telling you that you smell because I love you," I said, getting up.

He groaned and tried to grab my hand and pull me back, but he isn't quick enough. I escape quickly as he stood up, going to the bathroom.

"I love you!" I yelled after him.

"Whatever!" he yelled back and I giggled.

About four hours later Cohen and his new girlfriend were over.

Ding dong

"Aero! Get the door!" Will yelled.

"Fine!" I yelled back, getting up.

I hopped off the couch where I was torturing myself by looking through Ben's baby pictures with Peter. I opened the door and there was Cohen and his new blonde toy.

I grimaced slightly.

"Aero!" he said, a big smile on his face.

"Hey, C! How have you been?" I ask, letting them in.

"Great! How have you been?" he asked with a happy voice.

"Um, it's been....odd," I said as Peter walked up behind me.

"Peter!" he just said.

"Hey, man," he said back, giving a bro hug.

I giggled at them.

"Hi! I'm Lyric!" The Barbie said.

"Nice to meet you Lyric. I'm Peter," my man said, shaking her hand.

Of course that's her name, I thought.

I pushed the most real smile on.

"I'm Aero, Cohen's cousin," I said, shoving my hands deep into my pockets.

"Yes! He talks a lot about you! All great things!"

"I doubt that, but okay," I said, slightly glaring at my cousin.

"She's saying the truth!" he just said. They're both way too cheerful and I hate it. It's disgusting.

I laughed awkwardly.

"Well, lunch is almost ready and the couch looks lonely." I said, "Make yourselves at home."

As they sat on the tan sofa, I dragged Peter into the kitchen where my parents were making sandwiches and cutting vegetables.

"I don't like her." I whisper yelled.

"Why?" My mom whispered back.

"She looks like a freaking Barbie doll and her name is Lyric. Like what kind of name is that?"

"Honey, she didn't choose her name," said my mother with a raised eyebrow.

"But that means her parents are the same," Aero whisper yells.

"I think she's nice." Peter commented.

"That's because you're a dude." I say, rolling my eyes, "you think she's nice because her ass is nice."

"Aero!" My mom scolds.

"What? It's just the truth!"

"Hey, where'd you guys go?" They heard Cohen.

"We're right here, Co!" Said my mother, giving me a look that said «be nice, or you'll regret it».

I rolled my eyes.

"Uh..lunch is ready!" My dad said, trying to break the awkward tension.

Lyric and Cohen came in, hand in hand. They're looking at each other like there's nobody around them. They're literally glued to each other and it's disgusting.

Is this how Peter and I look in public? This is gross! I thought, hiding the grimacing look that tried to creep onto my face.

"Alright, we have fresh beef or chicken, who wants what?" Said my father.

"Oh... I'm a vegan. Do you mind...?" Said Lyric, with a guilty look on her face.

I fought off my eyeroll.

"Um..not at all! I'm sure we have enough veggies..." Denise said, going to the fridge. It was just getting better and better.

"Co...a word," I said.

"Mh? Oh, yeah, sure!" he said, as we left the others to be in private.

"What the hell," I hissed quietly after we leave the kitchen.

"What? What's up?"

"Lyric? Are you serious?"

"What? Am I serious? Yes, of course! I want to have my future with her! Why? What's wrong?"

"She looks like a Barbie, she smells like over priced perfume, and she's a vegan. I don't know how many more red flags you need," I said with a shrug.

"Aero, you can't just judge and think you're right. It doesn't work like that. You don't know her, you don't know what she's really like," he said with a serious face.

He walks away with an angered sigh. I leaned on the wall and put a hand to my face. Exactly what I needed right now.

Lunch was...awkward. I barely touched my food as I watched Lyric feed Cohen a piece of celery. They were talking to each other like we didn't exist. My parents, Peter and me looked at each other with awkward faces. It was horrible.

"May I be excused." I asked, feeling like a small child as I looked at my hands.

"Of course," Said my mother.

I ran upstairs. I thought I heard footsteps following me, and my suspicions were correct, as someone opened my door.

"Roe?"

I looked up to see Cohen at my door.

"Yeah?"

He sits next to me.

"You okay?" He asks.

I nod, not taking my eyes from my lap.

"Okay, what's going on?"

"I need to tell you something." I say, almost inaudible, but I know he heard me.

Cohen doesn't know about Blaze. He doesn't know that I'm dating Spider-man, or that my best friend is the Siren. He does know about Ben.

"Okay. Sounds important. What is it?"

"I'm Blaze," I say, meeting his eyes.

He let's out a comical laugh.

"Right. Next you'll be saying Peter is Spider-man." He continues to laugh and I just give him a look, "Wait, he is?! You're being serious?!" He shrieked.

"Well, his identity was outed, but hum... Yeah. I've been meaning to tell you this for quite a time, now."

"Yeah, I don't keep up with the news. I was in Italy with Lyric. But Holy shit, Roe, why didn't you tell me?"

There's a lot you don't know.

"It just... It never seemed like the good time, you know?" I lie through my teeth.

I've almost told him so many times, but I was afraid he would tell my parents. My dad found out after I was badly injured after a patrol. Cohen nods.

"Just tell next time, alright?" He asked.

"I will."
