I swear

Third POV

Theres so much going on, no one can function. Peter hadn't slept, no matter how much May, Hunter and Wanda bugged him.

"I'm not leaving," he'd say, eyes not moving from the motionless girl on the hospital bed.

It's been about two days and nothing has changed except for the fact that she's fully stable now.

"I don't know if this will work. I mean, I've never actually talked to you before, but Aero briefly mentioned talking with her main element via mind, so why not?"

Hunter sat and waited.

"Is there something you wish to talk about?" She heard.

It worked.

"You're Water, right?"

"You are right. And you are Hunter, my power source."

"Is that what I am?"

"Yes. I draw my power from you, since I gave you a part of me, a part of my soul. You are my source of power. You help me regenerate when I am out of power and you do the same with me."

"Can I ask you something?"

"Of course, Dear. I will always be here for you."

"Could you help her?"

"I fear not, unfortunately."

Hunter felt the tears fir what felt like the millionth time.

"But I know who could do it."

"Please tell me!" Said Hunter, hope in her broken voice.

"The witch. She could help your friend. And please, do it quickly. As much as Fire is irritating... She is still a friend of mine. And she is suffering. We all are. She is also a power source for all of us. We need help. She needs help."

"Thank you! Thank you so much! I promise I'll make it up to you!"

"No need, Dear. Now, go save your friend."

"Thank you, again."

"You are very welcome, my Precious. I appreciate your company. Please come see me soon, or converse with me soon."

"I will. I promise."

"Go, now, my jewelry."

"I know how to wake her up!" Hunter yelled aloud. Heads snapped in her way and everyone urged her to tell them.

"What is it?" Peter asked, hope in his eyes. Everyone saw the girl look at Wanda, so they all looked at her.

"Wha- me?" The witch asked, "Don't you think if I knew I would've done something already?"

"She told me you could do something. I don't know what, but I trust her."

"Who?"

"My elem- I-it doesn't matter. What matters is you can help Aero. Wanda, she's dying. Whatever they did to her is killing her," Hunter said, motioning to where Aero lay still.

Everyone in the room looked at her as if she were insane.

"Just-" she made a bunch of angry noises, "Just try something please!"

They just sat there, confused about Hunter's outburst. They all saw her sighed angrily and May tried to talk to her with a soft voice.

"Honey, you know...," she tried to put it in the easiest way possible, "Sometimes people can hear or imagine things when they're upset. It's-"

"I'm not going crazy! I swear!"

"Okay, I'll try," Wanda said. Happy saw Hunter let a small sigh of relief and frowned a bit. He hated seeing his famil- his... coworkers. Like that. He couldn't stand it, after everything that happened. He didn't want to fail Tony. But it was in those moments that he asked himself why me? But he knew the man chose him for a reason. And he would accomplish his mission.

Wanda walked up to Aero and put her palm on the girls forehead. Her hand glowed red with power, but as the group suspected, nothing happened. Hunter frowned. Water didn't lie to her, right? She couldn't... Right? What if she was wrong? What if-

"I'm stopping you there. I lived with 'what if' all my life. I still do. But we can't keep doing that. Because life is too short for that," said Tony.

The voice of her father echoed in her mind. Right no what if.

"What-"

Someone gasped and everyone snapped their head towards Aero and Wanda. Aero wasn't awake, but it seemed Wanda had something.

"I- something's happening- I-" Wanda couldn't finish as she almost fell to the ground.

Peter caught her before she hit the floor. The group looked at Aero, hopeful, but nothing happened.

"I- I had something. If I could've held on a little longer-" she started to cry, "but I couldn't- I'm so sorry-"

She continued to cry and Peter held her. Hunter hid her face in her hands, May looked at the floor, Happy closed his eyes and Denise hid herself in Will's shoulder, as he held her close.

"We have to try again!" Peter pleaded.

"But- But I don't know if I can! It was so strong- I don't-"

"Rest. You can try again when you're ready," Happy said.

And so Wanda rested. And she tried again. And failed. She failed over and over again for almost a week.

"She's eighteen tomorrow," Peter said as he looked at Aero, skin pail as her hair fans her pillow. Their was silence for a bit as everyone thought about it.

"Every year when you were gone, I used to... I used to get up at night when no one was there. I would light a candle up and sigh 'happy birthday'. Then all day, I would do the things we used to do when it was the person's birthday," said Hunter, looking at the floor.

Peter looked at her, something of a smile gracing his lips. The group almost smiled too, as Peter hadn't since it happened.

"You did? Even what Aero did? You always hated it," he said. The group saw Hunter nod.

"Yes. And I would do the same for May and Happy, for everyone I loved...," said Hunter, a faint sad smile on her lips.

Peter's smile faded as he looked back at his love.

"She'll be okay, right?" He asked, sounding childish as he almost started crying. Nobody responded. They couldn't be sure of anything.

"Mommy!"

Everyone looked at the door where they saw Katherine, Shuri and Fridaline, who was unknown for some people.

"What- what are you-"

Then Sam, Bucky, and Steve walked in. Ben was tucked away, sleeping in Sam's arms as he didn't like Bucky's metal one.

"What is this?"

"Be glad that we didn't bring everyone. They're all worried."

Sam smiled sadly and handed the ten month old to his dad. Ben stirred and woke. His eyes darted to Aero.

"Mama seep?" He asked sleepily. Peter's eyes started to shine in the bad way.

"Yeah. Yeah, Mommy's sleeping," he said, fighting the tears.

He started grabbing the air in her direction, but Aero didn't move. This made Peter break. He drew Ben closer and sobbed into his brunette curls. Everyone had tears in their eyes, even the new ones.

"Is aunt Aero, ok?" Asked the tiny voice of Kitty. Hunter took her in her arms and sighed.

"We don't know, Sweetheart. Aunt Aero is really sick," she said in a whispering tone to avoid Peter hearing it.

"This is Aero?" asked Fridaline. Hunter nodded.

Fridaline sighed sadly and sat next to her soon-to-be mother.

"And she's not well," she said as Shuri sat next to her wife.

Wanda then walked into the room, new determination written on her face.

"Hi, Wanda," said Sam, as he gave her a small hug.

"Hi," She said, quickly pulling away, "I think I can do it now."

They all made space for her to get to Aero and the new ones got closer to watch. Hunter hid her face in her soon-to-be-daughter and her daughter hair, hugging them and Shuri. Everyone was hopping, but they were also scared to let their hope raise too high.

Wanda let out whimpers, but they disappeared as soon as a gasp was heard. Everyone thought it was Wanda, but then it was paired with coughs. Everyone looked in hurry to find Aero, awake.

"Roe? Baby? Can you here me?" Peter asked.

She nodded and continued to cough. People cried of relief as Happy called for the doctor.

"Mama 'wake?" Ben asked.

"Yes, yes, Baby, Mama's awake!"

"B-ben?" Aero croaked.

"Mama! Mama, mama, mama, mama!"

Peter slowly placed Ben in Aero's arms and he snuggled his face in his mother's neck. They all saw the girl place her arms slowly around the baby's body.

"W-what happened?" Aero asked.

"We're not sure... You got kidnapped and we don't know by who."

"I- I don't remember. The last thing I remember was telling Ned and MJ that we were moving, and that's where it cuts off," Aero said, sitting up, "How long have I been out?"

"Long. Too long."

She looks at Hunter, who sat, looking down. Aero was wondering what was going on with her. Was she alright? Wasn't she supposed to be in Wakanda? Didn't she have things already prepared? Was she out so long that half her family came to her bedside?

"Hunter...?"

"Mmh?"

Everyone looked at the young mother. Was something wrong?

"Hunter, look at me."

Hesitantly, Aero saw Hunter look at her.

"What's wrong?" She asked, noticing the tear stains on her friends cheeks. The only response she got was a sniff.

"Hunter, please," Aero pleaded, her voice hoarse from the lack of use.

"I just-"

The poor girl couldn't say a thing before she bursted out crying. Shuri hugged her really quick as her wife cried into her arms. May joined the hug, followed by Happy, then Wanda, and one by one they all joined the hug.

Everyone except Aero who was still tethered the wires. She looked at them with a sad little smile, Ben still in her arms. Hunter emerged from the group and walked up to Aero, engulfing her in her arms and crying into her red hair. Everyone saw the two girls, clinging on each other like their life depended on them.

And to them, it did. Because they loved each other. And that episode hurt.

"Mama!" Ben said from Aero's lap. Hunter took a step back and let Ben get to his mother.

"Hi, baby," She muttered to the boy.

"I wuv wu," he mumbled.

Aero almost started crying.

"I love you too, baby."

Someone sniffling pulled Aero from the sweet moment. She looked to her right and saw Peter sitting in an uncomfortable chair, his head head. Aero didn't realize that, whatever happened put everyone in pain.

Aero motioned for someone to take Ben and Hunter did. Everyone saw as Aero took Peter's hand with difficulty before taking him in her arms. He cried into her shoulder and held onto her like she would disappear if he let go again.

But it wouldn't happen. Everyone would make sure of it.
