Chapter 2

He had finally managed to get his wrist free, though not before the man decided to offer up his name to him.

Lim Changkyun.

God of undeniable lust and blatant jack assery. He was still sitting on the round wooden bar stood beside him, of course, Changkyun sat facing Kihyun with his eyes never leaving him. The patron's within the bar had noticed the sudden distress that Kihyun had been in as Changkyun decided to interact with him. Their eyes were watching the pair, more so Changkyun, to make sure nothing else would happen between them. The bartender himself had made it clear to keep his hands off of Kihyun or there would be severe consequences. The look he was giving Changkyun was enough to tell him that.

Despite Changkyun blatantly staring at him, Kihyun could tell he was rather annoyed with him. That very feeling went both, however, Changkyun seemed to have something on his mind. Something he was plotting, no one just blankly  stared into an endless void on the wall for no reason.

"Excuse me?"

Changkyun's lips quirked into a tiny grin as he came out of his staring contest with the wall. His glistening brown orbs were fixated onto the overwhelmed young man desperately trying to act unfazed by his words.

"Oh, you heard me."

His voice inched to a deeper tone with his words hitting Kihyun right at his very core. Kihyun's mouth was open as he fought for words to say, some snarky remark that he could come back with. However, nothing seemed to be coming to mind. Nothing he could say that might rile Changkyun up just a bit more. Instead, he was left looking like a fish out of water, gasping for air when words never came. However, the infuriating man seemed to notice all the eyes on them, refraining from letting his words get to him for now.

"What, no more foolish remarks?"

"You're the foolish one if you think I'll go home with you."

There was the remark Changkyun had been looking for. The words that had slipped from Kihyun's lips angered the man even more. He could see the fire burning in his eyes as frustration raged within Changkyun. It took everything within the raven haired male to get himself calmed down. The long slow breath escaping him was proof enough of that. Kihyun was still very wary of Changkyun and wished that he would just leave him alone now.

"Look, I know you don't like me all too much,"

"No shit Sherlock."

The taller male decided to ignore the comment, he didn't feel like getting arrested that night.

"-and you're battling a tough and bloody war right now. So, to make up for drinking your so-called 'solution', I'll buy you any bottle you want and help you with whatever seems to be putting you in a bind."

Hesitant, that was the first emotion that slid through Kihyun. Wariness was another big emotion that mingled with his hesitancy. It was uncertain whether it was the alcohol or not, but Kihyun had stopped talking and appeared to be contemplating Changkyun's proposal. In a soft but smart ass tone, Kihyun asked;

"How could you be of aid to me when one, you don't know who I am. Two, you have a whole life to explore and enjoy rather than wasting it on me."

A smirk grew on Changkyun's lips, confusing Kihyun ever so slightly.

"I decided to help so, to answer your idiotic debate over this issue, your life is an entire amusement park compared to what mine is."

Attempting to place a welcoming and kind smile on his lips, Changkyun was doing his best to be nice to this man. Kihyun found the kind act a bit creepy, especially when going from fighting and insulting one another to being straight up kind. It was a big change that just added to Kihyun's wariness. If Changkyun was able to change his personality so quickly, what was stopping him from doing so when helping? Kihyun didn't want to be made a fool in any way, shape or form.

"How about we start with the basics?"

"Basics?"

"My name is Changkyun, Lim Changkyun."

Though he had already introduced himself to Kihyun, he felt the need to start over once more. Wipe the slate clean and start on a fresh note, hoping to gain the smaller male's trust a bit more and build up a better relationship than how it began.

Kihyun watched Changkyun with a questioning stare, his blue eyes boring holes into the man's slender frame. Regardless, Changkyun didn't squirm under his scrutinizing gaze that was setting him on fire.

"Hm, so you've said."

Straightening his posture, Kihyun steadied himself on the wooden bar stool to keep from falling off. He fixed his gaze onto Changkyun's more serious than he had initially wanted and introduced himself.

"Kihyun, my name is Yoo Kihyun."

**** **** **** ****

After the simple introductions between Kihyun and Changkyun were finished, the smaller male stared at the man that was offering help to him. He watched as Changkyun ordered the biggest, most expensive bottle of alcohol the local bar carried. To his surprise, it was a bottle tinted in a beautiful shade of red, much like the color of Changkyun's silky red shirt. At first, Kihyun let his eyes follow the bottle that the bartender was retrieving, nearly missing the white lettering upon the label. In the lighting it had almost completely vanished behind the glare that shone upon it. Kihyun's eyes widened momentarily as he read the words upon the label.

Larrot & Graham
Woodford Reserve

That single bottle alone was nearly a thousand dollars on its own. Any drink mixed with the crimson fluid would surely cost a fortune, if not more.

Kihyun's eyes darted back towards Changkyun just in time to watch the fine red silk of his shirt slip to expose his broad shoulder. He couldn't help his body from reacting to the small unintentional tease. His fingertips tingled, wanting to slowly glide across the exposed skin to see if it felt as silky as that shirt. A rush of warmth zinged through his entire body causing a slight hum to vibrate within him. As he licked his suddenly dry lips, it felt as if his body were screaming out in pure excitement, begging to just feel the other male. Never had his body reacted in such a way to a stranger.

Why did the bar's dim lighting make Changkyun's skin shine that much brighter? Even more so, why did the outline of his jaw make him more enticing than one ever should be?

He didn't know and despite the unending urge to, he sure didn't want to find out the answers to those questions at the same time. However, Kihyun shifted in his chair, not sure if it was from the way his body reacted to the male beside him or the heat rising within the bar, but it was becoming a little too warm in his seat. Changkyun didn't seem fazed by the ever growing heat in the room making him wonder if it was just him.

As Changkyun finally received the bottle of liquor, Kihyun watched silently while the male easily placed the tip of his thumb against the cap. With one good flick, the circular top jumped off the neck of the bottle and landed atop the bar. It lay flat for everyone to see, not that there was any other way for it to possibly, but it lay there as if trying to get someone's attention.

Rolling his eyes, Kihyun's tongue clicked against the roof of his mouth. Slowly, he looked away to try and organize his suddenly rambling thoughts. Changkyun was becoming quite the distraction, and in all the good ways as well. He wasn't sure if that was actually a good thing or not.

"So, tell me Kihyun, "

"Hm?"

Quickly turning his blue orbs back onto Changkyun, his own brown ones finding their way to meet with his. It was as if the other male were searching for something within his eyes, searching for something so deep down that Kihyun wouldn't have been aware that he had it within him.

The seconds ticked by, their eyes still locked onto one another's in a silent conversation it appeared. Neither male showed any signs of turning away from each other. It was starting to really frustrate Kihyun how easily this man affected him. So much so, Kihyun was beginning to despise how easily his body reacted to the tiny things that Changkyun did. IT had caused his mind to heavily assume certain things that could happen between the two of them if they were to leave this bar at that very moment. Actually, they probably didn't even have to leave the bar, they could have probably disappeared into the bathroom and no one would have been the wiser.

He was madly in love with Hyunwoo, he should not be having these thoughts.

That alone made the thought of a one night stand with an irresistible, yet rather ill-mannered young man would most definitely be the world's worst idea. . . ever.

So, if he already knew all that he had to question why he was still sitting there. Why was he still at the same old bar at the same old bar stool that made his butt hurt for sitting too long in it? Why was he still sitting beside Changkyun at the bar, indulging him with his company when he knew the male infuriated him in every way possible?

Was it due to his confession of his true intentions, self-absorbed justifications and his big-mouthed praises?

Kihyun couldn't pinpoint just one thing that answered his questionable thoughts. He had caved so easily and stuck around at the mention of free alcohol and promises of help he wasn't even certain would be kept. He felt too easy, and maybe needed to stop drinking if he took the offer of free alcohol so easily.

What in the living hell was wrong with him? Had he sunk so low as to accept the half-truthful advice and promises of help with his infatuation with his best friend? Was he even thinking straight?

At this point, Kihyun thought no.

"What seems to put you in the deep, hm?"

The sound of Changkyun's deep masculine voice broke Kihyun from his sudden onslaught of thoughts. He blinked his eyes freeing him from staring into nothing, glancing away once more while trying to focus the on the entirety of the situation.

Kihyun, do not fall for it. It's not real. . . I repeat, DO NOT FALL FOR IT!

Kihyun's conscience was practically screaming at him, warning him that this man's offer was nothing more than a lie. A means to lower his defenses and tricking him into leaving with him. He should have been listening to his conscience, leaving his free drink and running from Changkyun. However, he was doing just the opposite, his conscience dulled from the liquor he had been downing all night long.

Turning his head, Kihyun's eyes landed on Changkyun just in time to watch him swipe his fingers through those thick raven locks. It pushed the hair from his beautiful brown orbs, their eyes meeting once more. A smirk swayed upon Changkyun's devilish lips, a look of concern so deep melded onto his features, it could have easily fooled anyone.

Especially those that were currently intoxicated and not thinking straight.

Inhaling heavily, Kihyun chewed the inside of his cheek as he tried to keep his thoughts from screaming out in pure excitement. He was silently scolding himself for getting so excited over a stranger, a very attractive stranger at that. Slowly looking away and down into the glass of red liquid that sat in front of him, Kihyun tried to keep himself as composed as possible.

"Just a special little light shines its rays upon something else when there is obviously a brighter light right in front of it. Like I said, no biggie."

Lifting the glass from the bar, Kihyun brought it to his lips for a drink. He stopped, the glass hovering so close to his lips you could see his breath disturbing the liquid inside it.

"Just don't worry about it."

Kihyun's voice was soft, almost a whisper as he stared straight ahead at the back wall behind the bar. He closed the gap between his frowning lips and the glass, tilting it up and taking a long swig of the crimson liquor. It was such a beautiful distraction from his thoughts and from the dashing raven haired man sitting beside him. Anything to help forget why he was there, no matter how hard Changkyun was making it to do so.

"Wow. . . "

The statement was easily spoken, the pause lingering upon the surface of Changkyun's enticing lips.

"That sounded. . . okay?"

Changkyun waited for some comment from Kihyun, something smart or sarcastic, maybe snappy about the way he responded. However, when no response of any kind came, it was Changkyun who shifted, slightly uncomfortable within his own seat. Clearing his throat, he continued with what he had wanted to say since Kihyun had remained silent.

"Well, I mean, you're clearly stretching the whole 'no biggie' thing just a bit. Especially when it clearly shows on your chubby little face that it is seriously bothering you. On top of that, calling them or it a 'light' really doesn't give me a damn clue as to what's keeping you so down."

Did he really just call my face chubby?

"Obviously you've never been in love."

He knew what he had just said was going to bite, there was no way around it. By the sudden glint in Changkyun's eyes added with the frown, he was almost certain that it had that very effect. Though, whether Changkyun was hurt by the comment or annoyed by it, whatever he had been, the frown on Changkyun's lips twisted up into a half grin. It was as if he was trying to hide his exact reaction he had to the statement.

"Forgot about that mouth of yours, best be careful, I'm a man of my word and will act upon my promise from earlier."

Kihyun thought back to what Changkyun had stated towards the beginning of their conversation.

"Like hell you will."

Grumbling, he looked down into his drink and fell quiet. From the corner of his eyes, Kihyun could see the amusement that swirled within Changkyun's brown orbs, the smirk on his lips just adding to the image of amusement.

"So, trouble in paradise?"

Lifting his gaze, Kihyun barely shifted to look at the taller male beside him. His index finger circling the rim of his glass, a small amount of the liquor collecting upon the pad of his finger. He felt rather exposed as to what was bothering him, embarrassed that it was something so small as a crush that had him sitting there in the bar that night.

Averting his gaze back to his glass, Kihyun tried to ignore that sudden laughter that was bubbling out of Changkyun.

"Oh, you make it so obvious that I'm right. So, someone's crush has run off with someone else."

"Shut up, it's not funny."

Whining as he turned to face Changkyun, he was completely heartbroken, it becoming such an overwhelming sensation that it took everything in him not to let held back tears fall. The alcohol was definitely getting the better of him, going from smart mouth to whining and on the verge of tears, it must be about time to skitter on home before he was unable to alone.

"So, you're having relationship issues?"

"We weren't exactly in a relationship, but I guess you can say that."

Mumbling quietly to himself, a huge reminder that Hyunwoo was chasing after someone else that wasn't him. Kihyun turned his attention from Changkyun back to his drink, a heavy sigh slipping from his lips. He could feel the other male staring directly at him, some condescending curiosity being directed towards him. Kihyun wanted to smack that condescending look right off of the raven haired male's face, but just couldn't care anymore at the moment.

"He's my best friend, but I fear that's all I'll ever be to him. He's been chasing someone else for sometime, it's all I ever hear anymore. 'Hoseok this' and 'Hoseok that', 'Hoseok did this' and Hoseok is the best.' I hate it."

Why he was being so open was beyond him, but it was out now. His voice was filled with sarcasm at the mention of Hoseok's name. You could hear the disgust and dislike that mingled with the sarcasm as he spoke Hoseok's name.

"Sounds like you have a pretty big distaste for this Hoseok fellow."

"Wouldn't you if the guy was stealing the man you loved away from you? I'd do anything for Hyunwoo to just look at me like he does Hoseok, to love me. . ."

"You'd do anything?"

Being interrupted didn't seem to phase Kihyun one bit, he lazily leaned forward onto the bar. Resting an elbow upon the bar top, Kihyun propped his head up in his hand. He nodded at the question that had interrupted what he was saying.

"Yeah, I'd do anything."

Hm~ Well, I may have a way to help your little predicament you're in."

It was Kihyun's turn to look curious, the very emotion rushing onto his face as he turned as much of his attention onto Changkyun as his drunk self would allow. Could he trust this irresistible man that he had only met that evening? So far, all he had been able to do was annoy and irritate him upon their first meeting.

"How can you help when we only just met tonight? You only know my name, not my story, not who I am."

They were back to that subject, how they just met and questioning Changkyun's ability to help. The Cheshire-like grin that tugged at the man's perfect lips sent chills through Kihyun's rather relaxed body. It made him a bit uneasy despite his body screaming with excitement for the male beside him. How could one stranger make him feel as such? Kihyun was beginning to really blame the alcohol flowing through his system on a lot of things happening to him. Whether that was the case or not, it was a great excuse.

Leaning forward, Changkyun rested his hands upon the smaller male's shoulders. His face so close that Kihyun could feel his breath mingling with Changkyun's. His blue orbs raised just enough to meet with Changkyun's mischievous brown ones. The moment that their eyes locked, Changkyun presented his answer in the form of his own question, making Kihyun even more curious than before.

"How would you feel about playing a little game?"
