(Twenty minutes later)
"Oh god!" Kokichi complained as he collapsed to the floor while breathing heavily.
"Wow, I know you're rather weak, but you only hit about twelve," Maki teased him a bit, which Kokichi glared at her as she is sitting on the bench, relaxing as she already finished the exercise about seventeen minutes ago.
"Geez...thanks...Maki..." Kokichi breathes as he lies on the floor, being very tired.
"How...how about a break..." Kaito suggested to the group.
"YEESS! PLEASE!" Kokichi begged as he quickly gets up while sweating, grabs his scarf and sits down, "Oh god finally a break."
"Come on Kokichi, it's not that bad," Shuichi comforted him as he also gets and grabs his blazer while he wraps it around his waist.
"Speak for yourself!" Kokichi complained, "You done this much more often than I do!"
"Ha ha ha!" Shuichi laughed a bit, "True, true."
"So, how about we talk about ourselves?" Kaito suggested, which made Maki, Shuichi, and Kokichi tilt their heads. "I mean, since Kokichi is joining us, might as well just talk about ourselves a bit."
"I guess I can see the point," Shuichi said, "So...who wants to go first?"
"Oh m-"
"Shuichi should go first!" Kokichi interrupted Kaito.
"HEY!" Kaito shouted at him, making Kokichi burst into laughter.
"Umm...thanks Kokichi, but...I rather have Kaito go first..." Shuichi told him.
"Thanks, Shuichi," Kaito thanked him, "And don't worry, once I'm done, I'll let Shuichi go next, okay Koko?"
"Koko?" Kokichi cringed, "That is the worst nickname you could ever give to someone, especially a supreme leader of a secret evil organisation like me!"
"Fine, Kokichi then,"
"Thank you."
"Now where do I start..." Kaito said as he crossed his arms and put on a thinking face, "Alright...where do I start?... I live with my grandparents after-"
"Okay, thanks!" Kokichi interrupted him again. "Shuichi, you're next!"
"Oh come on!" Kaito complained again, "Seriously Kokichi!?"
"Kokichi, stop," Shuichi told him in a stern tone.
"Thanks, Shuichi," Kaito gives his thanks to his navy-blue haired friend, "Well, I live with my grandparents after my parents got a divorce and when I look at the galaxy, I thought to myself 'man, going to space sounds awesome.' So I decide to become an astronaut."
"That's it...that's the only reason you want to go to space?" Kokichi asked with disappointment, "Kaito...I never thought you were a bigger idiot than I originally thought you were, now I do."
"Oi! Don't be like that!" Kaito complained while Kokichi is laughing at him, making Maki annoyed and Shuichi trying to calm him down.
"Do you want to die!?" Maki harshly asked as she glares at him.
"Maybe. Who knows?"
"Bu-I wasn't serious," Maki told him with a shock expression, "Who...who hurt you?"
"My parents," Kokichi told them, which caught them off guard.
"Your...your parents?" Maki asked in worry.
"..." Kokichi stayed silent, then...decide to say it, "Ever heard of a wrestler named Sorai Ouma?"
"Of course I heard of him!" Kaito excitedly blurted out before anybody else could say anything, "I'm a wrestler fan and...wait a minute, Ouma...don't tell me... is he a relative of yours?!"
"...He's my father," Kokichi told him,
"WHHHHAAAA?!"
"Let me finish!" Kokichi yelled at him, "Anyways, he disappeared twenty-three years ago when he fell in love with my mother and since then, and he quit his job and lived in the slums with my mum."
"So that's where he was, huh?" Kaito realised, "I was wondering why he suddenly left his work. I bet it's pretty cool to have a famous wrestler as a dad, huh?"
"...No...it's not..." Kokichi whimpered, "You see...my mum...my mum was only sixteen when she met him and he basically kidnapped her into a one-sided marriage."
"Wha-you're lying!" Kaito accused him.
"Didn't I tell you? I'm fed up of lying now," Kokichi reminded him, "Now, my dad is an abusive asshole who beats me, my mum and my older brother up a lot while she's basically cheating on him with younger men and using alcohol to cope with her already messed up life."
"Geez...I...I never knew..." Kaito realised, "I'm...I'm really sorry, man...I didn't know..."
"Don't worry," Kokichi ensured him, "It's not all bad, sure; my mum is an alcoholic cheater, my dad is an asshole, my brother is a strict, goody-two-shoe absent figure and our house is basically trash, at least I have my DICE team."
"DICE?" Maki asked in curiosity.
"Yeah, we're basically a team of tricksters who makes harmless pranks and jokes on the neighborhood," Kokichi told them, "We were...like family, they were my family. I was their leader and founder, so I took care of them while they took care of me, especially after getting beaten by my dad."
"I see," Maki said, "Well, I was raised in an orphanage feuded by the assassination guild who disguised as a cult, then...originally, it was supposed to be my friend, but I volunteer because I knew the training would kill her, so, I took it."
"Wow, so you become an assassin not because you want to?" Kokichi asked in shock, "I'm honestly quite shocked."
"Of course she didn't become an assassin by choice," Kaito defended her, which to her shock, "She just wants the orphanage to continue running and make sure her friend is okay. That's all!"
"I see, I'm just surprised an assassin like her would have a heart, that's all." Kokichi said, and then turned his head to his lover, "Now it's your turn, my sweet Shuichi."
"Well, if you strongly insisted," Shuichi willingly told them, "I...I'm a bit embarrassed to tell since I'm the only one who doesn't have much of a tragic story."
"Ha ha ha!" Kaito laughed it off, "Well, aren't you lucky? Don't worry about it, just tell us!"
"Okay then," Shuichi sighed, "Well, I live with my parents, my uncles and my older brother."
"Wait, you have an older brother?" Maki asked in shock, "The only person you ever talk about is your uncle."
"Well... because he helps with my job as a detective," He told her, "I never have the chance to talk about the rest of my family."
"Okay, that makes sense," Maki understood.
"Anyways, my older brother is the opposite of me," He continued explaining, "He...is the opposite of me; he is an A+ student with the teachers praising him, being popular with the girls and being very sociable, unlike me who stays in the shadows."
"Oh come on man!" Kaito called out, "Don't tell me you're jealous of your brother!"
"I'm not, in fact, my dad would always scold me if he noticed even the littlest hint of jealousy in me," Shuichi told them, "I still love him, even though he can be pretty annoying, then again, what type of brother isn't annoying?"
"That is so true!" Kokichi agreed with a bit of chuckle.
"Next...is my dad," Shuichi said, "My dad is a very serious man and keeps a cool composure, but he always said he will always be proud of me and my brother. I can understand him, but me...I never understood why my dad is so proud of me even though the only reason I manage to become to be an ultimate is just pure luck."
"Man, your dad sounds like a really cool guy," Kaito complimented him, who nodded in agreement.
"He is, even though he's pretty scary, doesn't talk a lot, very strict and has a habit of accidentally stealing my dates where my brother tried so hard to hook me up and he would pick me up after my date, even my own brother have that habit because they're much better-looking compared to me!" Shuichi complained, which made them sweat-drops. "And now I'm sad..."
"Don't worry Shuichi!" Kokichi called out, "To me, you're always my number one! Besides, I highly doubt your dad and brother are that attractive and I bet those dates are losers if they think otherwise!"
"Wow...thanks Kokichi," Shuichi smiled gently, making the trickster blush a bit, "Though...I'm sure you'll change your mind once you met them."
"But aren't you guys brothers, you must have a similarity?" Maki asked.
"Well, actually, we look nothing alike; my brother was lucky enough to inherit my dad's looks while I look exactly like my mum." He told them with a sad smile.
"How about we talk about your other family members," Kaito interrupted him, hoping to liven up the atmosphere.
"Well, my maternal grandfather was the head of the Saihara Company, who creates electronics for the public," He told them, which caught everybody off guard.
"Wha-that SAIHARA family!?" Kaito asked in shock, while Maki and Kokichi are in awe. "I thought it was just a pure coincidence that you shared the same family name as him, but the idea that you're his grandson, that would mean..."
"No...I'm not next in line," Shuichi told them, "Originally my grandfather was going to give his power to my uncle Eizen, but because he rather be a detective than a CEO, he decided to give it to my mum, where once she dies, my older brother and his family will be next in line."
"So, your father was married into the family?" Maki asked where Shuichi nodded as a response.
"Along with my other uncle from my father's side, who is...let's say a strange mix of Kokichi and Kaito," Shuichi told them, "With his carefree and cocky personality, and the fact he's super embarrassing as well."
"He sounds an awesome dude to be around!" Kaito said with a smile.
"Well, he's right, he is very similar to Kaito more than Kokichi, now that I think about it," Shuichi realised, "Though, he loves to party a lot and often reads playboy magazines, so he's a massive pervert, while I'm okay with my uncle, my father and brother, however... not so much as my dad always lectures him while my brother get easily frustrated with him, so I don't know how dad will feel if I date AND befriended two slightly similar copies of him."
"Hey!" Kokichi and Kaito yelled at the same time.
"Come on, I'm way more tolerable then Kaito here!" Kokichi yelled, making Kaito give him the look.
"Oi! At least I don't lie every five seconds!" Kaito yelled at him back.
"At least I'm not the ultimate bullshit!"
"Who are you calling bullshit?!"
"Shut up you two!" Maki yelled at the two as she gets up, walk towards the two boys and glares at them, "Do you want to die?"
"Yikes!"
"Good, now shut up you two," Maki commanded them as she walks back and sits down, "Continue Shuichi."
"Thanks, Maki," "I guess..." Shuichi thought as he continues his story, "But he does have a serious side, he just...very, VERY rarely shows it, like at all. He is also pretty laid-back and willing to let us off the hook, unlike my dad who would be cross with us and my mum would gently lecture us as well."
"So what's your mum like?" Kokichi asked in curiosity.
"My mum is a lot like me," Shuichi chuckled, "quiet and a bit shy, which may be the reason why my dad falls for her; she's the complete opposite of my paternal uncle."
"That sounds like a very entertaining and interesting family life," Kokichi pointed out.
"Yeah, that's putting it mildly." Shuichi chuckled a bit as he looks down on the ground with a sad expression, "I...I wonder if I ever going to see my family again?"
"..." Nobody dared say a single word, until...
A/N - A cliffhanger! Sorry about that...it's hot where I'm from and very exhausted from school, thankfully I just copy and paste it from my Microsoft word and just correct the mistakes. That's it.
Yes, I am aware Shuichi is an only child (Like me!) and that he doesn't have a very good relationship with his parents, who neglected him for their careers, but since this is an AU, he has a much more positive relationship with his parents and have an older brother in this as well.
Now, I hope you guys enjoy this part and if you did, leave a comment and have a nice day, my ninja clan! See you next Tuesday. Kuno out!
