(Nero POV)

It hadn't been long since Dante and Vergil had left for the underworld and I had just made it back home. Kyrie was waiting for me at the door when I arrived. She quickly rushed up to me and pulled me into a hug.

"I was so worried about you." She whispered as she held me tightly.

"I met my father." I said as I pulled away.

She looked at me shocked before she walked inside with me and we set on the couch.

"His name is Vergil. He and Dante left for the underworld together." I explained.

"But.... I thought Scarlett said your father had been killed." She said confused.

"I did too.... I guess she must have thought he had been.... but I have to have a word with her." I said softly.

"Scarlett won't be back for another year."

"I know, and I'll wait until then if need be, but she has some questions that need to be answered.... questions that she is going to answer." I said sternly.

(Third person POV) (unknown place) (eleven months later)

It was snowing extremely hard and she could barely see the path. She let out a groan as she pushed through it and finally it calmed down. It didn't take long for her to find a cave and set up camp. The woman took off her hood and set in front of the fire.

She was an average woman, maybe in her late thirties. She had long black hair and crystal blue eyes. She had on a heavy set jacket and jeans along with snow boots. On her waist was a set of daggers and beside her was a katana. After pulling her gloves off she put her hands near the fire. She heard a growl and turned to see a shadowy figure.

"I was wondering when you would show yourself." She said with a smirk.

She pulled her sword out and it charged at her. With one swish of her sword it turned into dust.

"Damn hell hounds.... never liked them." She said as she put her sword away.

She pulled out a map and looked it over. She traced the words Fortuna on the map and smiled softly.

"Should just be two more weeks and I'll be there. Although it I take this path I could shorten it to a few days, but if it is blocked.... then I'll set it back by a week." She said with a frown.

She put the map away and pulled out a canister. She unscrewed the lid and took a gulp of it. She put it away and let out a sigh as she leaned back on the ground. She pulled out a locket and smiled as she clicked it open. Inside was a picture of herself and a little boy, on the other side was a picture of her and a man in a blue coat.

"I'll be home soon." She whispered as she shut it and closed her eyes.

The next morning she woke up and quickly got to work on packing her things. She hid her locket under her jacket and made her way through the woods. She soon found a path and smiled as she pulled her coat closer.

"Credo and Sanctus owes me big time." She said with a growl.

Soon she saw a dock and she smiled as she rushed up to it to see a boat.

"Thank the lord no one stole it." She said as she put her supplies on it.

She pushed a button and started it up. She pulled her map out and looked it over.

"I should be there in about three to four days." She said as she looked it over.

She put the map away and quickly took off. After traveling for two days she finally saw land.

"Three days it is." She said with a smile.

She soon docked her boat and stepped out. She smiled softly as she walked down the street with her beg. She made her way to a house and smiled as she knocked on the door.

"Coming!" A voice yelled.

She turned to look around and frowned as she saw that he streets and buildings had changed a little. When the door opened she turned around and smiled as she came face to face with Kyrie.

"Scarlett!" She exclaimed as she pulled her into a hug.

"Missed you too kiddo. Is Credo home?" Scarlett asked with a smile.

"You've been gone along time..... a lot has changed Scarlett." She said sadly.

They went inside and Scarlett listened as Kyrie told her about what had happen.

"I leave for five years and the world goes to hell.... is Nero alright?" She asked looking at Kyrie.

"Yes..... He is at his job right now..... and... he will want to see you." She said softly.

"Where does he work? I have something for him, oh and this is for you." Scarlett said pulling out a bracelet.

"Thank you, and I think I should take you there..... and I hope you know.... Nero isn't the same as he was when you left.... a lot has happened." She said as she slipped it on.

They got into a car and Scarlett watched the buildings pass. After going across a bridge they arrived at a building and Scarlett's face instantly went pale.

"Nero.... works here?" She asked softly.

In big words was Devil May Cry, Kyrie opened the door and sent her a small smile.

"Yea..... he works here." She said softly.

"Let's go." Scarlett said as she followed Kyrie.

They made it to the door and Kyrie opened it. They walked inside to see Nero talking to a woman. He turned and when he saw Kyrie he sent her a smile. His eyes soon landed on Scarlett and when she sent him a small smile, his smile disappeared.

"Hey kiddo." She said softly.

"We need to talk." He said as he pushed past her.

"Been awhile Scarlett." The woman said softly.

"Yea it has been.... but to be honest.....I wish it would of been longer." She said as she turned and followed Nero out of the building.

She watched as Nero leaned against the car and put his hands in his pocket.

"I met my father." He said not looking at her.

"I figured you had when I saw the building." She said softly.

"You told me he died.... yet I just saw him a few months ago."

"I thought he was....... Nero I wanted to tell you about him-"

"Then why didn't you! Why didn't you tell me about him?" He asked angrily.

"You weren't ready..... and I didn't want to give you false hope."

"False hope? All I wanted was to know who he was! I had the right to know...... why didn't you tell me?"

"Nero.... so many times I wanted to tell you about him..... but I couldn't."

"I would of rather learned it from my mother then my uncle." He said as he pushed past her.

He walked into the building and she let out a sigh and followed behind him. She watched as he plopped down on the couch and she bit her lip.

"I was seventeen when I met him. He was twenty-two....... I hadn't planned to sleep with him.... I actually hated him when we met." She as she set beside him.

Nero turned to look at her and she sent him a small smile.

"I hadn't always lived in Fortuna...... I use to love with my aunt and my uncle, but.... my uncle went insane.... killed my aunt and then tried to kill me and my cousin..... we got away.... and I swore I would hunt him down and make him pay..... and that's how I met Vergil."

"Because your uncle went insane?"

"Because my uncle ended up working for him.... while looking for him I found Vergil." She said softly.
