02. High and Dry

TWO HIGH AND DRY

◥✥◤

A party in their small town of teen animals was always wild. Anytime these teenagers were left unsupervised with access to alcohol and all sorts of narcotics, things became truly unhinged. However, Fawn was content to just sip her shitty vodka lemonade and watch people make a fool of themselves. She was hesitant to drink thanks to what happened last time she let herself become one of the aforementioned unhinged. Sylvia, however, didn't have a care in the world as she chugged what was probably her fourth drink at this point, dancing with random girls and a beaming smile on her face.

However, something drew her attention away when she felt a hand on her wrist. Immediately she jerked it away and went to attack whoever had grabbed her, but she relaxed the second she saw that it was only Maddy.

"Jesus fucking Christ, Fawn, it's just me," the girl said with a giggle that was a sure sign of her somewhat lack of sobriety, "Anyway... you coming or what?"

Fawn took one last look at where Sylvia was absolutely losing her mind in the best way possible before she began to follow Maddy down the hall. As soon as they were shrouded in darkness, she pressed Maddy against the wall.

"You and him are on a break, right?" Fawn asked, wanting to double-check. If Nate dared find out about this or if they were together currently, she was as good as dead. Maddy had never actually hooked up with her while they were together or even initiated anything when they were together, but one could never be too careful when it came to Nate Jacobs. Unlike Sylvia, Fawn wasn't looking to die young.

Maddy scoffed and nodded pressing her lips to Fawn's hungrily. The girl easily obliged, kissing the girl back with furvor as the two of them hid in the shadows. There were miscellaneous people milling throughout the hallway, but neither of them really noticed or cared about the two girls considering most of them were either shitfaced or looking for a place to do the exact same thing. Fawn knew this was dangerous -- well, Maddy Perez was dangerous. It was practically lesbian code not to fuck with straight girls. Especially straight girls with overly poessive and possibly psychotic boyfriends. Fawn wondered if maybe she did have a death wish, but considering her mind went white when she kissed Maddy, it was hard to think at the moment. She could feel the girl's hands roaming her skin, inching underneath her shirt and Fawn was relishing in the feeling of soft skin against skin.

Until it stopped, of course.

Pausing the situation (or however one would describe it), Maddy gasped as something else caught her attention. Scoffing, she exclaimed, "That bitch!"

The bitch Maddy was referencing? Nate Jacobs dancing with someone else with his eyes searching the living room for Maddy. He was very obviously trying to make her jealous and this was a game Fawn knew Maddy loved to play.

"I swear to fucking God," Maddy huffed as she walked away from Fawn without another word, presumably to find some decently hot guy to dance with or makeout with to make Nate jealous. God, straight girls were annoying. Well, she wasn't exaclty sure Maddy was straight even if that was what the girl insisted every time they hooked up. Either way, Fawn was still left in the dark, watching Nate and Maddy have a very intense, very weird staring contest while dancing with other people.

With a sigh, Fawn left the hallway with a sudden yearning for body heat and tingling lips, heading back into the crowd where she last saw Sylvia. At least there was Sylvia who wasn't afraid to be who she was or wasn't obsessed with some stupid boy. Coming up to Sylvia, she pulled the girl's drink out of her hand and chugged the rest of it. The blonde was too wasted to care, she was more excited over the fact that her best friend was dancing with her for once. Giggling at the enthusiasm on Syliva's face, Fawn let loose just a little bit. One of them still had to drive home, so that was most likely going to be all Fawn drank for the night.

"What happened to getting some pussy?" Sylvia asked, pressing her lips against Fawn's ear as the girl grabbed onto her golden-skinned hips.

"That's what I have you for," Fawn teased, a snicker passing her lips as Sylvia pretended to guffaw at this. "Maddy went running back to Nate, like she always does. No big deal."

"You know I hate to say I told you so," the blonde drawled, a giddy grin on her face as the two of them pressed their bodies against each other in the middle of the dancing crowd. They were so close that neither of them even had to yell over the music to hear each other, so that was nice.

Fawn shrugged as she allowed her eyes to drift over where Maddy was leading a boy over to the pool outside. Whispering in Sylvia's ear, she said, "It's okay, I've had enough of her shit, I think. Maybe we should... start a little rumor that could piss Nate off. Make him end things for good."

"Oh, honey, you are so naive," Sylvia scoffed. Judging by how well she was speaking, Fawn wondered just how drunk Sylvia actually was. There was a good chance the wild dancing was simply part of who she was, which Fawn wouldn't be surprised by. "They're gonna marry each other someday and fucking hate it. There's no ending Nate and Maddy. That being said... what's your idea?"

"Oh, easy," Fawn chuckled, "We tell the truth, duh. Anyway... she left me high and dry so..."

"Is that an invitation?" Sylvia asked with a teasing smile as the two relished in how close to each other they were.

Fawn just nodded as she let her hands tangle themselves in Sylvia's hair and press their lips together in the middle of the crowd. That was the fun part about her and Sylvia -- they were out, neither of them cared about doing stupid shit like this. Even if they did, the solution was simple: Blame it on the alcohol. Making out with Sylvia in the middle of a dance floor was actually fairly typical of them -- the phones of other students filming them was also fairly typical because there was nothing straight men loved more than lesbians. Sickening, but true. The videos would be everywhere Monday, no one would care by Tuesday. Simple. Sylvia was simple. As the two dispersed from the crowd and headed for the bathroom -- Fawn remembered how much she absolutely loved when things were easy for her. Maddy Perez could screw whoever she wanted because when all else failed, Fawn could do the same thing just as easily. The pot calling the fucking kettle.

if anyone comes for my neck for fawn being a toxic character i am going to LOSE my shit because i am doing it ON PURPOSE
