❝Inspection❞

HE STARED UP AT THE YOUNGER MAN WITH SUSPICIOUS eyes, nothing was convincing him Jungkook wasn't a criminal. He nodded, putting the pen down as he stared at the sky.
"By chance—were your family pirates in the late 80's?" Jungkook pressed his lips in a thin line to control his laugh, shaking his head. "No, 'business' is what we do." He nodded and hummed while tapping his fingers on the book in his hand. "So you're wealthy, have a nice status and everything, but still married my daughter."
That's exactly what I want to know—I turned to look at the tensed man, expecting a reliable truth—or maybe even a lie. He did nothing but sit there, staring at his legs, waiting for some type of survival or idea to escape this situation.
"I have some reasons. I won't lie saying I fell for her and all, but I can't tell you the truth either."
His answer obviously confused my father, "You're unpredictable." He said, "But even after that, you expect me to let my daughter go with you without any reason? Like—just like that. We may be poor, but I believe my love for my daughter—oh, which she calls overprotectiveness—is wealthier than any of the richest men out there."
Those words were so big for even me to swallow. "I understand." Jungkook murmured, "What about meeting your fami—" I tugged at his arm and shook my head, reaching for his ear, "Family red alert." I whispered into his ear.
He pressed his lips in a thin line, "I'm sorry for that." He said. "I understand how hard you worked and I appreciate it—even the fact you gave my hospital bills, not everyone had enough guts to take such a responsibility. If I were to fit into a woman's shoes, I'll say more than a half men on he planet are darned liars." I cleared my throat. "I hate them o the core and if meet any ungrateful brat I'll just—"
He brought up his hands, clutching the pen until it was shaking from the stem. Jungkook became even more awkward from his scary commitments. "But you actually did, you aren't like those ungrateful pieces of bloody sh—" I brought my hand up to his mouth. "L-let's not get sentimental so soon." I said, nodding.
I wiped my sweaty palms against my jeans, picking the glass of water, this was exactly the most awkward and hardest meeting ever. "What do you think about him?" I almost spit the water out, swallowing it as my eyes watered, coughing, I placed a hand over my itchy nose, sniffing.
"Uh—that was a simple question." He muttered, slapping my back lightly. I cleared my throat, wiping my eyes.
"He's good." He sighed. "More...effortfully." I growled under my breath, "Well... He's cool, he doesn't makes false commitments, he doesn't lie, he takes my side and... Takes care of me."
He nodded, "That's a good statement." I nodded. "And you?" Jungkook looked up, raising his eyebrows. "I-um-uh—she's a good wife. She takes care of me and um—she's sweet and kind, she likes Min Suga, that cat likes her too, they'll make a good couple—" He shut his eyes, sighing.
"Min... Suga?" My father laughed nervously, "Nice catch." He muttered. "It's good that you two... Don't like each other." He said, frowning. "Do you?" He turned to me, "ME?—I um, yeah, kinda." I shrugged. "Really?" Jungkook asked, tilting his head.
"When you're not rebelling." I added, "Well me too—I like you—when you're not asking stupid questions about why honeymoon is called honeymoon." I bit my lips,
"I like you when you're not cold."
"I like you when you don't be nosy and run around the room I told you not to."
"I like you when you're not cursing."
"I like you when you're not dumb."
"I like you when you're not an a*shole!"
"I LOVE you when yo—"
The argument ended awkwardly, "Well." My father rubbed the back of his head. "I think you two are good." He nodded to himself. "Yeah, kinda."
Laughing, he nodded, "Yeah, of course. So I'll allow you to make my daughter your wife, Jungpoo." Silence filled the air,
"JungKOOK dad!"
