Chapter Three

Author's Note: Mahalo to all of my readers and followers. I am so, so TERRIBLY sorry that I have not been very active or that it has taken me this long to update. But fear not! I am writing chapter 4 as we speak on pencil and paper so I do not have to think off the top of my head for it.

Anyways...Enjoy.

Kace drew his angel blade and slowly turned in a circle, trying to figure out who was coming and from what direction. He couldn't sense whether whoever was coming was good or bad and that was what worried him. The clearing they were in had a dark aura itself but other than that it was hard to tell if something bad was coming their way.

Kace glanced over at Seraphina, eyes alert and his stance tensing. "Can you tell if it's any danger?"

Seraphina nodded and that was all he needed to know he definitely had to be ready for a fight. The sound of a twig snapping behind him on the edge of the clearing caused him to whip around throwing a shirken in the direction of the intruder.

The man caught the shirken between his forefinger and his middle finger three inches away from his nose and slowly lowered the small but deadly weapon, tossing it to the side. The man was had a head of ginger hair and dark green eyes, he looked to be 5'11 and built almost out of muscle.

The man grinned at the team of Angel Warriors and said, "Now is that anyway to treat a host?"

"Who the hell are you?" Kace growled under his breath. Harper rested a hand on his arm trying to calm him. He calmed down slightly but was still tense and ready to attack.

"Who am I? I'm the one and only Thadius Crane!Surely you've heard of me?" The man says.

Kace and Noah shared a look, trying to figure out if they had ever heard of this man. Frowning slightly, both shake their heads and say, "Nope. Doesn't ring a bell."

Thadius seemed to become a tad upset and he huffed, taking a step forward. "Doesn't matter. You'll all be dead anyhow."

Braelyn raised an eyebrow and said, "You really think that? It's one man against eight of us."

Thadius smirked. "Really?"

With a snap of his fingers, about four dozen vampires appeared out of the trees, surrounding them and baring their fangs viciously. Kace glanced at Braelyn exasperated.

"You just had to jinx us!" Kace exclaimed before going back into his stance, his Angel blade drawn.

"I'm terribly sorry that he wasn't alone in the first place!" Braelyn says sarcastically.

Kace rolled his eyes and when the man whistled for the vampires to attack, he surged forward without a second thought.

Micah was not up for another battle with creatures from the dark. After dealing with that camp he really just wanted to relax and whatever but that isn't going to happen anytime soon. He was actually pissed that this "Thadius" guy was ruining his time for a break so he was fighting with an irritated vigor, trying to end this as soon as possible.

Micah's angel blade, which was a shade of black with gold swirling inside it and on it, almost like a moving painting, flashed quickly as he cut down a vampire that tried to rush him from the side. He kept an observant eye on Faida, as he always did when they went into battle for he was concerned for her safety as well as his friends.

A vampire sprang at Micah from his right front while another attacked him from behind. Micah flipped his sword around and jerked it back feeling satisfied when the blade sunk deep into the creatures abdomen, immediately killing it. He didn't stop to watch the vampire dissolve into ash as he twisted around and pivoted to the side, letting the vampire pass him before swinging the blade down across its back diagonally.

Micah strode forward to meet another vampire head on and this one turned out to be quite a challenge. The vampire was a bit stronger than the rest and he fought better too. Micah ducked and dodged a couple of jabs but grunted when one of the vampire's hits landed straight in his gut.

Micah didn't show much emotion to let anyone know that he was in pain because after all it was only one hit. And then he was being hit again, this time in the face and he stumbled back, trying to regain his balance. The vampire took the small opportunity he had and knocked him over by sweeping his feet out from under him.

Micah landed hard on his back, all the air leaving his lungs and he rolled onto his side letting a small cough escape his lips.

He glared up at the vampire who just glared right back at him evenly. The vampire raised a clawed hand ready to deliver a fatal blow and then Noah was there, swooping down from the sky and kicking the vampire hard in the chest, sending it flying back six feet. Micah watched as Noah landed lightly on his feet on the ground and turned to him.

"Looks like I swooped in and saved your ass again. Literally." Noah stated with a small smile forming on his lips.

"Fuck you, Noah." Micah climbed to his feet and his friend held up his hands in surrender mumbling about how it was true. "Besides, we still have these undead bloodsuckers to deal with. Including the one you just judo kicked a few moments ago."

Noah glanced behind him at the vampire climbing to his feet, a look of exasperation falling upon his features. He sighed almost disappointed and said, "Right. Let's finish this shall we?"

Noah was sometimes unsure if he made the right decisions in battle. Even though he made them, once the choice or decision had been made he couldn't change it. He had to follow through with it. Which is what he was doing now. Following a stupid ass plan that popped into his head. One day these stupid plans would probably get him killed.

"Hey ugly, didn't your mom ever tell you that you shouldn't play with your food?!" Noah yelled at the vampire that-up until three minutes ago been fighting Micah-and it turned around to face him.

"Are you talking to me?" The vampire demanded threateningly.

"Who else would I be talking to you big dumb oaf?!" Noah shouted. "You're the only ugly vampire I see in this clearing."

The vampire growled angrily, his eyes flickering back and forth from brown to red as he clenched his fists tightly.

That's right, Noah thought. Keep making him angry.

"You better watch what the hell you say to me or your death may not be swift."

"Yeah right. I'm not afraid of you! In fact...you might not want to turn around." Noah said with a sly smirk.

The vampire spun around and was instantly killed by a blade cutting him in half. Noah watched as it disapitated into ash. He looked up at Micah and shrugged. Everything slowed down as Thadius strode forward speaking rudely to Faida and Harper.

"You little angels think you are so precious! If you think you and your stupid friends can defeat me, you are sorely mistaken. I will kill all of you in the worst way possible, bring you back and do it all over again! And you stupid insecure little girls are going to be first."

"Hey douchenozzle!" Noah shouted walking towards them, unconcerned about the piles of ash he was walking through and placed himself right in front of them protectively. "If you say one more rude thing to Faida or Harper, I am going to beat the shit out of you! Don't test me either you undead freak!"

Thadius glares at him and says, "Really?" He reaches out summons a blood red and black sword. "You must be an idiot."

Noah smirked and inclined his head as he summoned his own angel blade, the pure white and gold color almost blinding the vampire. "I am what I am asshole."

Just as Noah was going to attack Micah, Kace, Nolan, Seraphina, and Braelyn came to stand by his side. All were ready to fight the vampire in front of them. Looking around, Thadius seemed to rethink his attack plan and he lowered his blade, the weapon disappearing.

"This isn't over!" He hissed.

"Far from it asshole." Nolan said.

"Yeah and next time we see you, we'll still kick your ass!" Kace yelled at the vampires retreating back.

Noah sighed and glanced at Micah who seemed to have a relieved expression upon his face. "Can we please find somewhere to crash now?"

Nolan rolled his eyes and looked at Braelyn. "Yeah let's go."

I hope this was enjoyable😁
