53: Blushing

DAISY

I am lost in the shuffle movements dragging on my head at the weird encounter when I heard professor Jebez stating above me.
"Great work, have you written down the fragments?"

"Yes is after the diagram." My partner answered.

"Observe your work before submitting." The professor advice before leaving for the next table.

It was one-thirty when we rounded up. I gather my possessions and practically threw them in my backpack, with the time almost against me, I have to be at West Bay in thirty minutes.

I do not want to fiddle with this work, I have to make attendance on time to keep the job.

I hang the strap of the backpack over my shoulder and emerge from the laboratory along with other students.

"Hey, Daisy?" Someone summons from behind.

When I swirl; is my lab partner. I am not stunned at all he knows my name. It's conspicuously a moderate amount of students knew my name even though I merely know anyone.

"Uhm... Hey." I stuttered.

"Garrison."

"Huh?"

"My name's Garrison." He chastised.

Garrison is about my height but he's broad and has a very deep voice mix with an Australian accent.

"Oh... Mmm okay cool." I fumble my words.

"All right... I was thinking of submitting the work tomorrow, is it okay with you?" He asked.

There are murmurs and giggles which could be usual given that we're all exiting two hours lecture that required concentration and quiet, but then I learn I am wrong when my eyes discover the origin of the murmur and crowded narrow way.

This person is satisfactorily leaning balanced against the wall, with one leg fold back and both hands in the pocket.

They got my blood stagnating and cease flowing through my body.

For a moment I saw darkness, my heart dropped to my stomach.

"Daisy?" I heard Garrison called, but it was distant and echoing.

It was like the hallway is empty and it's me and Caden. Having the walls shrink beside me.

Those eyes flaming with the desire to maim me are penetrating even from the interval between us in the filled-up space.

Fear fitted as required as anticipation served unavoidably.

I began retreating backward, my eyes bulge out, my body trembling.

My movement got him lunging forward for me. I've never feared this exceptionally. Not in any circumstance my chest had to rise and fall like right now.

"Daisy?" Someone hurls my name from behind but I didn't care, I push through the occupied room and sprint for existing.

I could sense his closeness just immediately as he shoves his way to get to me.

I've never yearned for asylum, I race down the minor staircase to get to Paul and others, and as pledged the four men are out there waiting.

"Are you okay Miss Esteban?" Knightley asked as soon as I cast over to them, barely catching my breath.

"Get me away from here." I croak with my dey throat.

Paul and Andre began examining the environment which makes me agitated and edgy.

"Now." I hurl a command at the men delaying for evidence.

"Yes ma'am." They unison altogether and guide me to the rides.

I didn't care for the eyes I've precisely drawn. I just need an escape. So when I was safely settled in the car I stoop, my head falls in my palms as the car pulls out of the lot.

Very close.

"Hey? You okay?" Kate asked as I came out of the locker room, branded in West Bay teeshirt.

"Yes." I swallow, wiping my sweating palms on my jeans.

I can't imagine getting trapped by Caden. What could he have done to me?

"You're flushing, Daisy." She points to the unmistakable truth.

Having no explanation, I divert. "Customers are waiting, I'll get the orders." And flee to the taken tables.

After collecting the orders from some family table, I find the captivating housemate of mine, occupying a two-seat table. My heart skips a beat before I begin respiring again. He's just dressing casually in his probably yesterday's outfit, though you can't tell because his wardrobe is almost the same. But yesterday he didn't come home, Riley had waited in the living room all night but he didn't show up.

His glowing green eyes dances with the shade of the sun and make fool of reality. I wouldn't even blink away at his enchanting face. He was breathtakingly gorgeous, his glamorous tousled hair falling around his forehead.

"Hey?" Rob snap me out of my trance, with a friendly touch by the forearm.

"Rob, can you please collect the order from the third table?" I plead for cover.

Rob is a junior here just like me, he's kind and funny.

"Okay..." He curiously says but asks no more, he leaves for Kay's table.

"Thank you," I mumble to myself and return to the staff desk where Kate receives orders.

"What do you have here?" She queried when I hand her the note. "Okay, I will send it to the kitchen." She adds and turns for the kitchen direction.

"He wants coffee and brownies," Rob announced, sitting the order in the desk.

My eyes widen instinctively and I didn't know I blurt out. "Brownies?" Until rob confusedly asked. "Yes?"

"Uhm can you get it delivered? I am on for the other tables." I asked for another favor yet again.

His single eyebrow rises at me. "Now I'm suspicious."

"What are we suspicious about?" Kate came up and interfere.

My eyes roll the sudden Rob begun smiling.

"See that hot cake in black?" His finger indicates Kay who is amusedly watching us watch him.

Instinctively, I subdued Rob's hand down and shoot him a warning glare which only makes him laugh.

"Yes, the one staring?" Kate asked, clearly intrigued.

"Accurate. Our girl here has a crush on him." He claims the impossible.

"What?" I blurt and scoff when I realized his ridiculousness.

"Oh, I now get why he won't blink." Kate giggle and prop up her head in her hand, way too dreamy.

"That's not true." I embarrassingly defend.

"You don't wanna go to his table." Rob remark, amusedly.

Immediately Kate hurtles forward. "What? You're going to his table. What does he want?" She rushes.

"Coffee and brownies." He replied and gave her the note.

"I will get it ready and you're delivering it."

"No." I oppose, unbelievable how they all team up against me. They wouldn't if they knew how much he enjoys tearing me apart. If they knew right now I only have four pairs of clothes because he decided to add paint in my laundry.

"Yes," Kate argues sternly.

"No... I can't."

"Why?" She challenges, folding her arms around her chest.

I don't have a sensible answer and I need to get away from this conversation and so I play the crazy card.

"Look." I lift the dark screen of my phone at my two ridiculous working partners "My mother is calling." I blatantly lie and attach the object to my ear.

"This is sad." Rob shook his head and walk away while Kate confoundingly watches me lie pathetically.
