1K Special // Detroit 2083 - Not Fair

"Hank? Wake up," the RK800 whispered. He never left the side of his partner and friend since 2038. He pulled the curtains aside and the sunlight entered the room.

Hank coughed and sat up. He was 98 years old.
"Bring me a coffee," He demanded but Connor shaked his head. "You're supposed to take your medicine."
"But I don't want to take that shit."
"You have to," Connor said, gave him his medicine and sat next to him on the bed.

"Connor..." Hank started with a weak voice. Connor didn't wanted to interrupt him so he just glanced at him.
"I'm not immortal," Hank said and took Connors hand which laid on the bedsheet.
Connor first starred at their hands and then looked back into his eyes.

"I'm going to die, Connor," He said. "You know that, right?"
Connor nodded and looked on their hands again. "That's not.. fair."
"It's life," Hank said and closed his eyes.

"What should I do without you? I mean what about the house, our job? What about-"
"Connor," The old man interrupted the android. "Please don't make it worse than it already is."
"I'm... i'm sorry. I just-," The android which felt nothing back then whispered. "I'm going to miss you."
Hank smiled and leaned back in his bed. He was weak.

"Do you want to know what my system says?" Connor asked although he knew the answer. He himself didn't want to know how long Hank would live.
"God no," Hank answered.

Hank Anderson
predicted death date: in a few minutes

Connor swallowed. "Hank I... I don't know what to say."
"You don't know what to say?" He laughed but then coughed again.

"I love you, Hank," the Android said. Hank opened his eyes and watched at him with shiny eyes.
"I'm glad that I got to know you, plastic asshole." He smiled again
"Make sure you don't put any evidence in your mouth. I'll see it," His head slowly sank down on the pillow.

A tear ran down Connors cheek and dropped on the bedsheet.
Hanks heart stopped beating and Connors system showed him the information.
