Detroit Become Human ~ A Character Study... Sorta

A/N: a short brief description of how I view these characters.

Mostly writing for the characters I write a lot about.

My head cannons will be in there since we don't know much about a lot of these characters.
.........

Honestly, he's not some sweet cinnamon roll, he's not free of crime and there is blood on his hands... but he's confused. The world around him is always confusing him. The people, the places, the androids. They don't follow protocol, they don't fit in his lines of code.

That's what interests him. He's a people pleaser, trying to make sure everyone likes him... but that quickly falls apart when he meets a man that is so against helping him.

He confuses him, but interests him and he... he's strange. He likes strange. Metal, dogs, trauma, but a smart and good man.

And by no means is he actually innocent. He's killed in cold blood, killed to survive and simply... he didn't care before. Saving a human life was priority, so who cares if blue blood splattered his lines of code? And then, when he's free from these confines that held him, he kills until red is on his hands.

But he's trying to be better. He hurt his own and those he cared about, so he's always trying. Always working harder than he needs to.

He's smart, fast, charming-

But he's also awkward, clumsy and sometimes slow.

He's not a baby, but he's sweet, and people care about him.

That's Connor. Not a pure angel, but a android who has a lot left to learn.

People push him to be someone he was meant to be, but not always ready to be. He's a leader because they needed one. He's the revolution because no one would give them one. He was a caretaker, because someone made him one. Yet, he was living because he was treated like he was.

He loves with his heart on his cheek, unarmed and welcoming. And that's scary. He was pushed into a world he only barely knew of, forced into deviancy because he was trying to protect himself, protect the man he cared about like a father.

He had to rush to find himself and others like him. He had to become what they expected of him, be what they needed when it wasn't what he was used to.

But he led. He led kindly, dissuading violence, because he knew life was won with love and not hate. He led with kindness, seeing every soul as one to save. He awoken others so they could be free.

He awoke the very man sent to kill him. He awoke his killer before he could kill. He gave him a chance to be free.

And he forgave.

He forgave it all despite the harm.

He was a peacekeeper, a lawmaker, and a man forced to lead who took it in stride. He never really had a chance to relax or let his thoughts catch up.

But that's Markus. The leader of the Revolution.

Love comes from many places, broken places or kind ones. But she was a lover. She loved working with her charge, seeing her smile. When that smile broke, when fear filled that child's eyes, she grabbed them and ran, ran as far as she could. The only one who could save this child, was her.

She was strong, knew that the road would be hard, but she'd stay strong. She'd be strong so her child wouldn't have to. Protect and love, nourish and care for. She was willing to provide. She did what she could to save her, befriending some unlikely allies and helping others along the way with her kind words and her actions. She'd never leave anyone behind.

She was forgiving and kind and a warm soul. Her hands shake holding a gun, but she'll hold it if she has to. Because she'd strong. And she's funny. Maybe she doesn't express it much, but she can see the light inside of even the darkest situations.

And that's what makes Kara, Kara. A mother who has a huge heart to love with.

He's a dick. No questions asked. He's brash and rude and drunk most days. He's sloppy and blunt and lazy as hell. No one really believes in him anymore. After loosing his family, he lost himself. Russian roulette for one, spinning the barrel and hoping god would finally grant him mercy.

He'd always fail, and he didn't seem to change, or show signs of wanting it. But then, meeting a strange, confused force, who was a fish out of water and trying so hard to get close, breaking his code to do right...

Something changes. Hank's smart, so he sees changes. He sees life where most don't. He's never been one to care. And he learns. He learns to accept what really happened with his displaced anger.

He learns to love that he's still around. And it's hard. It hurts every day. But every day, he heals a little bit more. And seeing a photo of his son always stings, but he's got his dog, and an android partner who seems to care about him. Care about the messy, lazy detective who made so many mistakes.

But he makes him realize that being alive, isn't a mistake.

For once, Hank got new life, finding life in others not like him.

And then there was the clone. Everyone sort of saw him like that. A carbon copy of his predecessor, just a bit taller and a bit colder. Not friendly, but a bloodthirsty killing machine...

But there was more to him than that.

Sure, his programming said what it wished, but he's not that code. He's alive.

And scared.

Scared of a world he never knew.

He puts up a brave front, and acts tough, but truth of the matter, is he's afraid of being rejected. By his predecessor, his partner, his people.

He just wants to be loved, to feel something. And he wants to help others, protect those he cares about, and he's scared no one will give him the chance. Hess too scary looking, to much like Connor...

He wants to break free of it all. He wants to be himself. But himself sometimes feels like not enough, because no one gives him the chance.

So he'll remain cold, stiff and unshaken. Until someone lets him breathe. Rk900, Nines, Bryan, Conrad, whichever name he comes with... it never truly feels like him.

And he's not great. But he has reasons for his behavior. His home life isn't good, and it never seems like in any version of his tale, that it will be.

His words sear like poison, but they somehow, still lack bite. He brash and arrogant and guarded. Who could blame him, with the chip in his shoulder and the secret buried inside him.

He's afraid to let anyone in, not even his friends, who he trusts, because he's afraid of them leaving if he ever decided to open the can of worms that is his story. His life.

He scared to lose anyone else.

And he's afraid of letting more people in. What if someone figures him out? Like they inevitably always do?

He doesn't know that the people who love him won't leave his side. He can't accept such happiness. Can't accept that he deserves it.

His mind is always swimming with the worst case scenario. Because he believes he only deserves that.

It takes a lot for him to realize he's a man worth loving, and even that he feel's shaky on.

But he'll be okay. Gavin has people who will help him be okay.
