A/n: Forewarning y'all: this one shot will not have a happy ending! I've got a couple of questions: are my one shots painfully cliché or do you all enjoy them? Should there be a part two to this one shot where Simon gets a happy ending?
⚠️SPOILERS AHEAD⚠️

~(Y/n)'s POV~
"This is suicide!" I shout as I followed Markus, Simon, North, and Josh out of Jericho. I knew this feeling that was squeezing my metallic heart. "Is it really worth risking all your lives?"
The four androids stopped and faced me. Simon was the first to meet my gaze. "(Y/n), we have to do this."
"No... No, you don't, Simon. Please, stay here," I beg.
His LED flickered from yellow to red at my sorrowful tone before returning to a calming blue. "I... I can't, (Y/n)."
"We'll be back in a few hours. We promise, (Y/n)," North tries to reassure me.
Tears streamed down my cheeks as I glanced between the four of them. Simon closed the distance between us and took me into his arms. He trailed his hand through my (h/c) locks, allowing them to flow between his fingers gently.
"I was hoping to speak with you before we left," Markus spoke up. Simon and I glanced up, our eyes locking with the RK200's.
"What did you need?" I inquired.
"You used to work at the Stratford Tower. We'll need your help, (Y/n)."
"What? Markus, no!" Simon fusses. "It's too dangerous!"
"I have to agree with Simon, Markus. The smaller the party, the less casualties we'll have to worry about," Josh said, taking the PL600's side.
"It's up to her," Markus stated coolly.
All eyes then fell onto me once again. "I..." Determination bubbled within my chest. "I'll do it. If my knowledge helps, I'll do anything to help."
Simon placed his hands on my shoulders and squeezed them. "(Y/n), no!"
"I want to help, Simon. With me being a former employee, I can help you get access to any off-limit areas. My deviancy hasn't been discovered and my data is still in the system."
"That means we'll have access to all maintenance areas. Glad you were a CEO of the Stratford Tower, (Y/n). Never thought your former position would come in handy," North exclaimed.
"Me, neither. You can thank Mr. Stratford. He's the one who bought me for the position."
Josh smiled. "Never would've guessed one of our own would've been in such a high position."
"Well, it was horrible when I woke up," I mumble, placing a hand over one of Simon's that still rested on my shoulder.
"What caused you to wake up? You never told us," North said.
I glanced at Simon before directing my gaze back to North. The only person I had told was Simon since he was the one who found and brought me to Jericho only a month ago. "One of the security guards was drunk on the job. He grabbed me and forced himself onto me. I was able to knock him out before anything happened. After that, I left Stratford Tower. Then, Simon found me wandering the streets."
"And that's how you found Jericho," Josh added.
Simon removed his hands from my shoulders and took one of mine in his as I nodded. "Yeah."
"Wait, if you haven't been to the Stratford Tower in an entire month, how do they not know you've left?" Markus questioned.
"I hack into their system daily to register as if I haven't been missing. It's not like people in the tower care much about an android even if they are one of the CEOs."
"Smart," North commented.
"We shouldn't waste any more time," Markus stated.
Following our leader, Simon and I held hands all the way to the Stratford Tower. Once we arrived, Markus and North separated from us while Josh and Simon waited for me to return from the front desk with the access codes to all maintenance areas of the tower. I returned to them and shared the code via wireless transfer. "Now we have the access we need. Can you send the code to Markus and North from here?" Josh inquired.
"Already done. They'll be able to access the maintenance rooms on the forty-seventh floor with ease," I reply.
"Good. We'll ride up the maintenance elevator to the top floor when they've done their part."
"We should change in the meantime," Simon spoke up, holding three jumpsuits. Josh and I take ours and we find a safe place to change.
After changing, we received word from Markus and North. Simon, Josh, and I headed to the maintenance elevator without grabbing any unwanted attention. As the maintenance elevator carried us to the top floor, I couldn't help but voice my concern. "What if the humans ignore our message?"
"If they choose to ignore it, then all of this was for nothing," Josh stated with a glower.
"Hopefully, Markus can get the favor of the public with the message," Simon said, trying to be optimistic.
"I hope so, too," I mutter.
We rendezvous with Markus and North as the elevator door opened. With help from a small explosive device, Markus was able to blast open the heavy metal door that blocked our path. Walking through the now open door, I was suddenly grabbed by Simon and pulled back into cover. The PL600 gestures around the corner and I spotted the two security guards on duty.
"I say we take 'em out," North whispered, pistol gripped tightly in her hand.
"No. We're not killing anyone," Josh declares.
"I'm with Josh. If we start killing humans now, we're no better than common murderers," I said.
"What about knocking them out?" Simon suggested.
"We'll go with that," Markus exclaims. Taking the lead, he emerges from his hiding spot. The guards caught sight of him and were immediately suspicious. Markus pulled out a hidden pistol and aimed it at them. As the two men didn't fight back, Markus was able to knock both of them out. With the guards no longer an obstacle, we head to the broadcasting room.
Inside the room, Markus converts the androids while Josh, North, and Simon dealt with the humans. One man was able to escape and North tried to convince Markus to shoot him. He refused and withdrew his gun. "(Y/n), hack the system. We don't have much time."
I hacked the broadcasting system to bypass the firewalls and allow Markus to record his message. "It's ready, Markus."
He nods and gets in front of the console. I recorded his message, pushing away all the negative feedback that was trying to invade the recording and repair the firewalls I broke through. Just as Markus was wrapping up his speech, I could hear the familiar ding of the elevator. "Oh, no..."
Markus finished just as the SWAT team stormed into the room. They fired without warning and I dived under the console to get out of the line of fire. "Head to the roof!" Josh shouted. Hearing his yelling, I emerge from my cover and run to the stairwell. I saw Simon was lagging behind and helped him. Before we made it to the stairwell, more rounds were fired. I shielded Simon, taking bullets to my shoulder, leg, and abdomen. My body fell backwards into a pair of arms. My world spun as I felt myself being lifted up and carried to the rooftop.
"What happened?!" I heard North shout as Simon laid me down, leaning my body against a cooling unit. He kneeled next to me, pushing a strand of (h/c) out of my face and caressed my cheek. Markus was on my right, examining my wounds.
"(Y/n)," Simon calls out my name softly. I could feel my biocomponents failing one by one as time passed by. I smiled up at him, spotting tears in his eyes.
"She'll never make the jump with these wounds," Markus said melancholically.
"No, (Y/n) can make it! I'm not leaving her up here!" Simon objects sternly.
"In this state, she might not be able to pull the cord on the parachute, Simon," Josh said.
He shook his head and refused to accept my predicament. "I'll be by her side. She'll make it."
I reached out and placed a hand on Simon's cheek. "Simon, my systems are shutting down. I won't make it to the ground."
"How much time do you have, (Y/n)?" North asked.
"Five minutes. You can't let the humans get me. If they do, they'll learn where Jericho is," I weakly spoke. Markus understood and stood up. He aimed his pistol at my head, eyes wavering as he tried to make the decision to shoot or leave me.
Simon acted quickly and pushed his body between mine and Markus', obscuring his line of fire. "If you pull the trigger, I'm no longer a member of Jericho. I won't follow someone who killed the one I love."
"Simon, no," I whisper, frowning at his words. "I'm only one android."
"I don't care. I love you, (Y/n)." He pulls my battered body into his arms, hugging me tightly. With shaky limbs, I wrapped my arms around Simon and tightly clung to him for dear life. Peering behind him, I saw Markus withdrew his gun.
"We'll help you jump, (Y/n)," Markus said.
Simon thanked him, breaking the hug and helping me up. I could barely stand, but Simon and Markus supported my body. Josh helped me put on the parachute while North strapped me safely into the harness. After assisting me, the four put on their own parachutes.
The SWAT broke through the once locked door and stormed onto the roof. Simon grabbed my hand as they fired and we jumped off the Stratford Tower together. The jump had caused more thirium to leak from my wounds, causing my shutdown time to shorten to one minute. My hearing was failing and I could barely pick up Simon shouting at me desperately to pull the cord. I pulled the cord and my parachute opened.
As the ground got closer, I only had twenty seconds before total shutdown. Looking for Simon, I saw he was the closest one to me. I sent him a weak smile, muttering under my breath that I love him. At the final second, my body collided with the ground and all my systems shut down.
~3rd Person POV~
Simon watched in horror as (Y/n)'s body crashed into the ground. Tears stained his cheeks as he landed on his feet and quickly ridden himself of the parachute. He dashed to her aid, but he already knew it was too late. Simon pulled her head into his lap, staring into her lifeless (e/c) eyes. Markus, North, and Josh found Simon and saw the empty shell of an android in his grasp.
North couldn't tear her eyes away from (Y/n) as she remembered her time with her. The two were like sisters and spent most of their together. If (Y/n) wasn't with Simon, you could find her messing around with North.
Markus sat on his knees beside Simon, patting him on the shoulder. "I'm sorry, Simon."
"We shouldn't have let her come..." Simon murmured sadly. "I should've pushed her into staying on the ship."
"The least we could do is take (Y/n) back to Jericho," Josh said. They all agreed and Simon carried the empty vessel back to the rustic ship. They put her body with the rest of the lifeless androids that perished over the weeks. Simon refused to leave (Y/n)'s side even when North tried to forcefully drag him away from her body. It was the first time anyone had seen Simon snap at someone. North didn't blame him because she was feeling just as void on the inside with the loss of (Y/n).
Once North left, Simon fell on his knees next to (Y/n)'s body. He slammed his fists on the floor, creating an echo. Tears were liberated from their confinement and trailed down his cheeks. He bit his bottom lip, desperately trying to restrain his whimpers. The pain he was experiencing in his chest was unbearable and he wanted it to vanish. He had just lost the love of his life and only begged for (Y/n) to return so his pain would cease. Morosely, he would not be granted such a miracle.
