~3rd Person POV~
Simon, Josh, and North were currently walking in the streets of Detroit. The trio took to the streets in hopes to find lost or abused androids who needed safety from humanity. With only being able to help a handful of their people within a couple of hours, the three sat on a bench and watched as humans and machines passed them. No one questioned as to why the three androids had no masters and why they wandered the streets.
"Y'know, Josh and I told you our stories. What's yours, Simon?" North suddenly asked. The female android only wished to end the silence between them.
Simon stared into the sky as he reclined back on the bench. "I don't want to talk about it."
"How bad is it?" Josh questioned.
"It's... painful to talk about."
"Was the human that owned you horrible?" North ponders.
Simon shook his head. "She was far from horrible. She's the reason why I've been able to feel emotions."
"Then, what's so bad about it?" Josh peered around North to look at the blonde android.
"(Y/n) was taken to the hospital after an accident at work. She stayed in the hospital for two months and I only learned of her death from the neighbors."
"Something doesn't add up," North comments.
Simon glanced at her. "What do you mean?"
"If she died in the hospital, you would've been notified before anyone else and taken back to CyberLife. Maybe we should look into this."
"Why would they lie? They've got nothing to gain from it."
North fell silent before asking about Simon's relationship with (Y/n)'s neighbors. The android mentioned how they hated his kind and wished for (Y/n) to get rid of him, but she refused to let Simon go. With those words, North was able to solve the puzzle. "Let's go see if they did lie to you."
"What're you talking about?" Simon asked with an arched brow.
Instead of answering, North replied with a question of her own. "Where does she live?"
"The Lake Gardens complex on Haven Avenue. Her apartment number is three-twelve."
"Let's go check it out," Josh said, wishing to see this mystery solved. North pulled Simon off the bench and the trio headed to Haven Avenue.
As they arrived in front of the complex, Simon refused to move. "We can't do this!"
"We can and we will," North declares. "I can tell how much you love her! We're finding out the truth."
"Why do my feelings matter? An android and human can't be together!"
"There's no law that states humans and androids can't love each other. Also, you deserve to know the truth, Simon. She could be alive and missing you," Josh said.
Simon looked up to the third floor and at the familiar window he remembered staring out for hours to see if (Y/n) was returning from hospital. He had mixed feelings about this, but if (Y/n) was alive, a weight would be lifted from his chest. "Let's go."
It had been almost a year since Simon had left this apartment complex. He stuck his hand into his pocket and pulled out the key (Y/n) had given him the moment she had brought him home. With questioning gazes directed towards them, the androids took the elevator to the third floor.
Stepping off the elevator, Josh and North follow Simon down the hall. Arriving at apartment number three-twelve, Simon slid the key into the keyhole and unlocked the door. He opened the door slowly and saw the bedroom light was the only light on inside the neat apartment. "Wait here," Simon whispers.
"If that isn't (Y/n), then you could get killed!" North yelled in a hushed voice.
"It's better than the three of us getting killed," Simon retorts.
Josh nods, "We'll be out in the hall if anything happens."
Simon nods and slowly enters the apartment. He slid by the furniture without making a noise as he maneuvered to the bedroom. Through the small slit, he could see someone sitting on the bed. He couldn't tell who it was for most of them was obscured by the door.
Reaching the slightly ajar door, he peered in the room and saw a woman with (h/c) hair. Her back was turned to him, but he was able to identify her. Simon felt like rushing into the room and hugging (Y/n), but he held himself back and pushed the door open gently. (Y/n) heard the creak of the hinges and snapped her gaze to the door. "Simon?"
The android saw she had a picture of them in her hands. He also didn't fail to notice the tears in her (e/c) eyes. (Y/n) sat the photo down on the sheets and stood up. Before she could even take a step, Simon had closed the distance between them and hugged her tightly. (Y/n) wrapped her arms around his torso and embraced him, as well. "You're okay," she sniffles.
"I thought you were dead," Simon whispered in her ear.
(Y/n) pulled back to peer up at his face. "Is that what Mr. and Mrs. Walker told you?"
"Yes."
"Those assholes! Did they tell you at least why I was admitted to the hospital?" Simon shook his head and (Y/n) sighed in annoyance. "One of my co-workers lost her footing on the stairs and she fell backwards. I tried to catch her, but I ended up falling down a flight of stairs. I hit my head hard and fell into a coma and woke up three months later."
"I shouldn't have listened to them. I'm sorry, (Y/n)."
"Don't apologize, Simon. I heard from the front desk that you turned deviant and left. Was that because of what our neighbors said?"
"Yes. I couldn't stand being alone and I felt... scared. I thought I had lost the one person I cared about."
(Y/n)'s eye's widened slightly. "You've felt human emotions?"
"After our first year together, I started experiencing strange sensations. It was very foreign and I had no idea what to do. That was the day you were admitted to the hospital. I wanted to see you so badly and hoped you could tell me about these feelings. Now, I know what I felt that day."
"What was it? They're many emotions."
Simon was silent before answering. "Love."
(Y/n) thought she was hard of hearing and asked Simon to repeat. He happily reiterated for her as he smiled from ear-to-ear. The young woman closed the distance between their bodies and hugged him again. "I love you, Simon. When I learned you ran away, I cried for days on-end. I lost you and I felt it was my fault. I'm glad I wasn't the reason behind it."
Simon rested his chin on (Y/n)'s head. "I love you, too, (Y/n). I'd never want to leave you."
The duo heard shuffling and turned around. Josh and North entered the room with sighs of relief. "We were wondering what was taking so long and thought the worst," North explained.
"We're glad to see (Y/n)'s alright," Josh smiles.
(Y/n) peers past Simon and eyes the two androids in confusion. "Friends?" Simon nods and introduces her to them.
"Glad to see not all humans are bad," North comments.
"I'm glad to see so many androids finally being able to experience emotions. It's like you three are just normal humans," (Y/n) said. "Some emotions suck, but they make life more interesting."
Josh chuckled lightly, "You can say that again."
"Where have the three of you been staying?" She suddenly asked.
The androids knew they could trust (Y/n) and told her of Jericho. She was overjoyed to see so many androids breaking free of their shackles and trying to find themselves in this world. "I won't tell anyone about Jericho. I might want to visit and see how things are going."
"You're welcome any time, (Y/n). You're the first human we've ever trusted," North said.
(Y/n) looked over to Simon and her smile seemed to drop. "I guess... you'll be returning to Jericho."
Simon placed a hand on her cheek. "(Y/n), I—"
"No, he's staying right here," Josh intervenes.
Simon's blue eyes widened. "But, what about—"
"We'll handle everything. Just make sure to visit," North smiled.
(Y/n) couldn't help but feel guilty. "No, it's alright. Simon, wherever you go, I'll support you no matter what."
The blonde android stared into her watery (e/c) eyes and wiped a stray tear that managed to escape. He pressed his forehead against hers and smiled. "I'll stay with you, (Y/n)."
Tears of joy bursted from her eyes. (Y/n) kissed him on the lips and smiled through her tears. "Thank you, Simon."
