~(Y/n)'s POV~

I pace back and forth in the interrogation room. My nerves were causing my anxiety as I ran a shaky hand through my (h/c) locks. A group of police officers had barged into my home and arrested me for helping the leader of Jericho, Markus. I had known him because he was once Carl Manfred's android, who was my neighbor before he was taken to the hospital a few days ago.

Sighing, I sat down in the cold, metal chair and rested my elbows on the table. I was about to shout when the door opened and a man I remembered as Officer Reed entered. A scowl plagued his face as he sat down in the chair across from me. "Why the hell would a human be helping these damned machines?"

"Asshats like you wouldn't understand," I scoff. "Your head's too far up your ass that you can't see anything that's right in front of your damn eyes."

He clicked his tongue in annoyance and crossed his arms. "You've got a mouth on you, sweetheart."

"I've got more than a mouth. I could shove my foot up your ass, too, if you'd like—free of charge."

My words finally broke the man and he snapped as he slammed his hands on the table. "Tell us where to find the damn leader of these pieces of shits!"

"Like hell I am. You're on your own, pumpkin."

He pulled out his pistol and aimed it at my head. "You're gonna tell me or I'll—!"

The door flew open and an older man I recognized as Lieutenant Anderson entered with his own pistol trained on Officer Reed. "Get the fuck outta here, Reed. You're done with this interrogation."

Said officer turned around and directed his fiery gaze to the older man. "Why the hell are you barging into the middle of an interrogation?"

"A normal interrogation doesn't involve pointing a gun at someone!"

"You know what? You try to get answers from her without pointing a gun at her!" Officer Reed stormed out of the room and shoved the other man.

It didn't faze him as he sighed and faced me. "Sorry 'bout the asshole. Bastard doesn't know when to quit." I stayed silent as he sat down. "So, (Y/n)... why're you protecting androids?"

"Because they've done nothing wrong. You're on the wrong side, Lieutenant."

He leaned forward and placed his hands on the table. "I'm well aware of that. I've got my own android to worry about."

Just then, the door opened again and an android walked in. He locked the door behind him and I noticed he was the model RK800 that was CyberLife's new prototype. "I've shut all audio and camera devices off, Lieutenant."

"Why would you do such a thing?" I question.

"We're on the same side, (Y/n)."

My eyes flickered to the android standing next to Anderson. "You've broken protocol, haven't you?"

"Yes, I have."

"And you wish to help your people," I murmured. I took a deep breath before continuing. "Markus is my..."

"We know of your relationship with him. Never thought I'd see the day where a human and an android are lovers," Anderson chuckles lightly.

"Is it that strange?"

"Honestly, no. I think of it as more of a step in the right direction. A human caring for an android as if it were another human being."

"Love is love. Android or human, love is still the same."

The Lieutenant smiled, "Glad to hear it. Hopefully, this shit will end soon and we can all go back to our normal lives."

"Me, too, Lieutenant," I said.

He leaned forward more in his seat. "Listen, we—"

The door was kicked in and an FBI agent with a few armed guards entered the room. Anderson stood from his seat in a flash and glared at the agent. "What the hell do you want, Perkins?"

"This investigation is under FBI jurisdiction now. I will see to it that our suspect is properly interrogated. Take Miss (L/n) to a cell for now." Two men grabbed and dragged me to a cell. They tossed me in the glass prison before locking the cell and leaving. I glared in the direction they disappeared before getting off the cold floor and onto the bench.

As an hour ticked by, I had found myself messing with my hair. It was a nervous tick of mine since I was little. Eventually, my train of thought was derailed when the cell opened and Agent Perkins entered the cell with two guards. "Now, Miss (L/n), where is Markus?"

"I'll tell you exactly what I told everyone else: I'm not telling you a damn thing."

"Unlike the others, I have full authority to do whatever I wish to make you talk." He nodded towards the guards and one man pulled me off the bench while the other delivered a punch to my stomach. It knocked the breath out of me and I fell to my knees, clutching my stomach.

After I caught my breath, I glared up at Agent Perkins. "Never knew the FBI would result to such low tactics. You guys are no better than common thugs."

Perkins kneeled in front of me. "You're harboring information about a dangerous group of androids that could wipe out all humans."

"They would never do such a thing! People like you are just worried you're gonna lose your precious servants. I support their cause and will never tell you shit. You're better off getting information from a garbage can than me."

The same agent that punched me in the stomach delivered a blow to my face. I fought back the urge to scream in pain as my body fell to the cold floor under me. I felt my cheek and eye beginning to swell from the impact.

"We'll see you tomorrow morning, Miss (L/n). If you're not ready to talk then, your punishment will only get worse." I remained on the floor as the three men left.

When I heard the cell door open again, I wasn't prepared for who entered. "Those assholes will get what they deserve." Lieutenant Anderson helped me off the floor and onto the bench. He pressed something cold against my eye. "Keep the ice on it. You've got a black eye."

"Thank you for the ice, Lieutenant."

"Just call me Hank."

I smile and press the ice gently against my face. "If I were to tell you where to find Markus, would you pass on a message for me?"

"Just wait in here for a couple of more hours. You'll be out in no time." Hank left the cell and I was now more confused than ever. I shook away the feeling and tended to my black eye.

-Two Hours Later-

The ice had melted and the swelling had gone down slightly. I touched the injured skin and winced. "I swear, if they weren't part of the FBI, I'd kick their asses."

As I went to lay down on the bench, I heard shouting and the sound of something exploding. I jolted from the sudden loud noise and looked out the glass to see the entire station was engulfed in smoke. I didn't realize someone had opened the cell door until the smoke filtered into the small room. I coughed as I inhaled some and covered my mouth.

A person emerged from the smoke and who I saw made my heart speed up. "Markus." As his name slipped from my lips, he grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the cell. He easily maneuvered through the smoke as he held my hand tightly and headed to the front doors.

Safely outside, Markus refused to let go of my hand as we ran down the street. We hid in the backyard of an abandoned house and I was able to catch my breath when we came to a stop. I leaned against the rickety house and placed a hand over my racing heart. "I haven't run that fast in years..."

Markus released my hand and stood in front of me. Without a single word, he kissed me sweetly. The loving exchange was accompanied by a wave of relief. Seeing him safe was all I could ever ask. After the kiss, I placed a hand on his cheek. "Why would you do something so dangerous, Markus?"

"I love you, (Y/n). When I heard you were arrested, I knew it was my fault. I had to do something and was able to get inside help."

"It was Hank and that RK800 android, wasn't it?"

"Yes." Then, his small smile turned into a heavy frown. He cupped my cheek and caressed the bruised skin from where I was punched only hours ago. "Who did this to you?"

"Those bastards who work for the FBI. I refused to give them the information they wanted and this was my reward for staying silent."

"(Y/n)—"

I placed a finger against his lips. "I know what you're going to say. There's no way on this Earth would I sell you or any other android out. You all deserve your freedom and I'm willing to take a few beatings to make sure Jericho is never found."

Markus snaked his arms around my torso and embraced me gently. "I don't want to see you get hurt."

"Trust me, I'm a tough nut to crack. This'll heal in a few days. I'll need more ice, though." Markus leans forward and kisses the bruised skin under my eye. I giggled at the soft sensation and rested my head on his chest. "I love you so much, Markus."

"I love you more, (Y/n)."
