|Daniel x Reader| {Part II}
A/n: This idea came from oOShinahiOo. It wasn't a request, but it was an amazing idea for a continuation of the previous Daniel one shot. Also, thank you for all the support with the recent fiasco. I'll delete those parts after I publish this story. Love you all!!!

~(Y/n)'s POV~
"Welcome home, (Y/n)," Daniel greets with a smile as soon as I walk through the door. "How was work?"
I tossed my bag on the sofa with a heavy sigh. "It would've gone better if I didn't keep receiving the same call from the same customer. All she wanted to do was nag over the phone and I hung up on her ever time. Sadly, she kept calling back."
"I've prepared some tea. Would you like some to help you relax?"
"Yes, please. I'd love a cup."
Daniel's smile widened as he headed into the kitchen to pour me a cup. I sat on the sofa and took off my shoes and jacket. Another sigh escaped my lips as Daniel returned and sat next to me on the couch. He handed me the warm cup of tea and I thanked him. "While you were gone, I heard John and Caroline yelling."
I took a sip, the warm beverage relaxing all my tense muscles. "Again? I wonder what's got them so irritable all of a sudden."
"I don't know, but I heard they picked up a new android today. Emma was not too pleased and ran out of the apartment to come and see me. She promises to visit every day from now on."
"It's been almost two weeks since you left the Phillips. I know she'll hold a grudge against her parents for awhile. She loves you so much."
Daniel stared at his clasped hands that rested in his lap. "If you weren't here, I would've done something terrible. I could've..."
I placed a hand over his. "Don't dwell on what could've happened. You should be celebrating what did happen. This may sound horrible, but... I'm glad you were replaced. Now, we get to spend every day with one another. You're my family and I love you, Daniel."
The android smiled and took my hand in his. "Thank you for providing me with a new home, (Y/n)."
"And thank you for giving me another chance at family." We stared into each other's eyes before our silence was interrupted by rasping knuckles. Daniel stood up and answered the door. Emma stormed in and hugged the android tightly. Behind her, I saw it was the new model NL740 the Phillips must've brought home today. It had brown eyes with blonde, spikey hair. The machine entered our apartment and introduced himself. "It's nice to meet you. I am NL740, or as the Phillips call me, Gale."
Something felt off about this android, but I pushed away the uneasy feeling and smiled. "Nice to meet you, Gale. I'm (Y/n) and this is Daniel." When I gestured to Daniel, I saw he was sending a glare to the new android. He held Emma tightly and stepped away from Gale. The tension in the air was suffocating and I stepped in to clear it. "Anyways, how're John and Caroline?"
"They are doing well. The Phillips are preparing dinner during our absence," Gale answers, his brown eyes trained on me.
"That's good to hear."
Daniel carried Emma to the couch and played with her as they used to. Gale followed me to the kitchen as I prepared a drink for Emma. "I heard what happened to Daniel," the android suddenly spoke up. I peered at him from the corner of my eye as I poured juice in a glass. "He almost killed the Phillips. That is punishable by law."
I slammed the juice carton down and glared at Gale. "Daniel was upset. He became deviant that day and lost himself to his emotions. He didn't kill anyone and I provided him a new home. I don't care that you're a part of the Phillips family now. They were his family first and you've got no say in the matter."
Gale's LED marker flashed red before returning to its usual calming blue. "Understood, (Y/n)."
I sigh and take the glass of juice to Emma. She thanked me and took a sip as Daniel smiled at her. Gale soon exited the kitchen and I couldn't bring myself to look at him. Something about his persona irked me as he sat on the other side of Daniel. I kept my gaze locked on Emma and smiled. "How about you spend the night after you eat dinner with your parents?"
Emma nods and sets the glass of juice down. "I'd really—"
"Not tonight, Emma," Gale interrupts the little girl.
"And why's that?" Daniel asked with a hint of anger.
"We have somewhere to be early in the morning."
"You can come and pick her up before you need to leave," I said, allowing Emma to recline against me. I placed my hands on her shoulders and felt she was shaking. "Are you okay, sweetie?" I whisper. Emma shook her head and I knew something was up. I gathered her in my arms and dismissed ourselves from Daniel and Gale. I carried her to my room and sat her down on my bed. "What's wrong, Emma?"
"I don't like Gale. He's scary and ever since he came home this afternoon, I get this weird feeling."
"What makes him scary?"
"Well, he follows me around the apartment. When I tell him to stop, he doesn't."
My brows furrowed in confusion at why the android wasn't obeying Emma. I let my thoughts wander before asking another question. "Has he been doing what your mom and dad have told him to do?"
"No. They have to keep reminding him."
"I'm going to go speak to your parents. Stay here and make sure Gale doesn't follow me. Stay close to Daniel until I return."
Emma nods and we head back into the living room. While the little girl sat beside Daniel and hugged him, I shuffled to the door and opened it. "Where are you going, (Y/n)?" Gale asked.
"I have a package waiting for me at the front desk. I'll be back shortly," I lied with a forced smile. Closing the door behind me, I jog up the stairs and into the Phillips' apartment.
Caroline nearly dropped the spoon in her hand when she heard me enter the kitchen. "(Y/n), what're you doing here?"
"It's about Gale. I think you bought a rogue android."
"That's impossible. We went to the store on Fifth Avenue. There's no way they would've sold a corrupted android to us," John said as he sauntered into the kitchen.
"There's a difference between a corrupted android and a deviant. By the way Emma described his behavior, I'm positive he's corrupted."
The sound of a gun clicking sent a shiver down my spine. I didn't need to turn around to know who it was. John stepped towards me, but Gale pressed the gun against the back of my head. The older man stopped in his tracks and stuck a hand up. "(Y/n)'s right, isn't she?"
"Yes, but I can't believe you were able to figure it out so quickly," Gale said.
"I live with a deviant. The signs you show are ones found in rogue androids," I state. "Emma told me of your strange behavior."
With no reply, Gale grabbed my arm and yanked me backwards. He move the gun to the side of my head and dragged me along with him. My heart hammered in my chest as he lead me to the elevator. "I'll let (Y/n) go the moment I'm out of town. You won't see me ever again."
Caroline shook her head. "We can't let you go knowing you're a rogue android. You're more dangerous than deviants."
"If you follow me, I won't hesitate to kill her!" Gale bellows, shoving the gun against my head. The barrel of the pistol dug into the side of my head, causing a tinge of pain.
Just then, the door leading to the stairs opened and Daniel emerged from the stairwell. He saw the current situation and his eyes widened in horror. Gale quickly called the elevator and waited until it reached this floor. Our eyes met and we both knew the rogue android could get away. "Daniel, call the police."
"If I do, he'll kill you," he protests.
"If you let him leave, there will be more victims. I'm just one person."
"You may just be one person, but you're the one person I love!" He shouts, his frightened demeanor vanishing. All four of us were shocked at the declaration. Gale was so shocked that his grip on me loosened and the gun wavered. Daniel noticed and acted quickly. He dashed to my side and disarmed the rogue android, the pistol falling from his hand and landing at my feet. Daniel's LED turned yellow as he called the police. John grabbed the gun near my shoes and aimed it at Gale.
Daniel took my hand and guided me to the couch. John and Caroline made sure Gale didn't escape while the police were on their way. Once I was seated on the plush cushions, Daniel got up and headed into the kitchen. When he returned, I saw he had a bag of ice with him. "What's the ice for?"
"Your arm," he replies. I glanced at the limb and saw red marks from where Gale had grabbed me. I took the ice and thanked him with a smile. Pressing the cold bag to my arm, I sigh in relief. Daniel sat next to me and held my free hand, stroking my knuckles with his thumb.
The police arrived a few minutes later, handcuffing Gale and escorting him out of the building. John and Caroline joined us on the couch with apologetic looks. "We're sorry about everything. Daniel, we'd like you to come back," the older woman said.
The android glanced between me and the Phillips before giving them his answer. "I'm sorry, but... I want to stay with (Y/n)."
The couple smiled, but the sorrow in their eyes was apparent. "We understand," John sighed. "We know how much you love her and we won't force you to do anything you don't want to."
Caroline placed a hand on John's arm. "I'll go get Emma." She left and headed to my apartment. John heaved another sigh as he stood up and left in silence. Once he was gone, I pecked Daniel on the cheek. He was taken aback at the sudden sensation and ran a hand over where I kissed him. I giggled and nudged him lightly with my elbow. "I'm glad you'll be staying with me."
He smiles brilliantly and squeezes my hand lightly. "Me, too."
