~3rd Person POV~
Inside an elevator, Connor and (Y/n) were tossing a coin back and forth, taking turns doing tricks with the small object. The constant tinkling of the coin when the androids passed it was starting to drive Hank crazy in the small space. His patience finally snapped and he turned around, snatching the coin from the female android. "You're fucking annoying me with this damn coin!"
"Apologies, Lieutenant," they simultaneously said.
"You two gotta stop with that shit."
"With what?" (Y/n) inquired.
"That talking in unison shit. Gives me the damn creeps!"
"We do not intend for it to happen. It is merely coincidental," Connor stated.
"There's no way in hell it's coincidental. That shit happens more than twice a day!" Hank shoved the coin in his pocket with the roll of his eyes. The elevator arrived at the twentieth floor and the trio exited the lift.
Arriving at apartment 2003, they were greeted by Officer Grahm. "Glad you three could make it on such short notice."
"What happened?" (Y/n) asked.
"Family of four found dead. The parents were found in the kitchen with slit throats and the one child was located in his room, killed with a single bullet to the head."
"What of the other kid?" Hank asked, narrowing his gaze.
Officer Grahm fell silent. Hank knew he wasn't going to like what the officer had to say next. "We... found her body hanging from the balcony."
Connor's and (Y/n)'s eyes widened in horror. Hank crossed his arms and looked away. The officer was surprised that the two androids showed any emotion at all when hearing the news, but he pushed it aside and showed them to the kitchen. Connor sampled their blood to see how long the parents had been dead for. "Mr. and Mrs. Powl have been dead for almost an entire week."
"When did you receive the call?" Hank questioned.
"This morning. The landlord said the Powls weren't answering the phone or door and grew concerned. He entered their apartment and found them dead," Officer Grahm answered.
"The parents were killed with a single cut to their throats. The son was murdered with a single bullet to the head and the daughter was hanged from the balcony," (Y/n) said.
"What're you thinking, (Y/n)?" Hank asked.
"All these forms of murder are executions. Our suspect is someone who enjoys the chase but likes to end things quickly with a single blow."
"But why target the Powls?" Officer Grahm pondered.
"To send us a sign that they aren't afraid to kill anyone. The Powls were high-class and well-known. We're looking for a highly dangerous person who chooses at random. They don't have a victim type."
"Well, shit..." Hank grumbles.
"There is something I wish to confirm. May we see the other bodies?" The female android glanced towards Officer Grahm.
"Uh, sure," said officer answered, guiding (Y/n) and Connor to the deceased children. Connor tasted their blood and noted they were killed only minutes after their parents.
(Y/n) bent down, scanning their bodies. "Both children have imprints of rope on their wrists. Officer Grahm, when you and your team arrived, did you move any furniture?"
"Yeah. We moved the four dining chairs that were strangely set up in the living room."
"Were they placed in two pairs and facing the others?"
"Yeah. What're you getting at?"
"The suspect made the children watch their parents die before killing them and dragging their bodies into the kitchen, which also explains the blood trails."
"It's a phenomena that is commonly found in murderers who had parental issues growing up," Connor added.
Officer Grahm raised a brow. "Does this get us any closer to the killer?"
"I believe we've already narrowed down our list of suspects tremendously. This person would've been in jail for quite some time already due to their confidence in killing and their skill with a knife. When we head back to the station, I will compile a list of possible suspects and we shall work from there," (Y/n) said, smiling at the officer.
"We'll head back as soon as we can, Officer Grahm," Connor stated.
Hank emerged from the kitchen just as the two androids were leaving. "What did I miss?"
-Detroit Police Department-
Back at the station, Connor and (Y/n) created a list of possible suspects for the brutal murder of the Powl family. Hank saw how hard they were concentrating and waited for them to finish before opening his mouth.
Finally done, Hank was able to speak. "Are we just gonna pretend CyberLife isn't after both of you and just continue to work cases as if nothing's changed?"
(Y/n) stops everything and her (e/c) eyes fell to the floor. "After our skirmish in the parking lot a few weeks ago, I informed CyberLife of Connor's termination. They believe he is dead, but I'm not sure how long it'll be until they send someone to confirm his death. I... don't even known if they believed my lie."
"And what about you, (Y/n)? What were your orders after you 'killed' Connor?"
"To remain at the station and assist with the cases." She rested both of her hands in her lap and squeezed them tightly. Connor noticed it was a nervous tick she developed when she became a deviant. He placed his hands over hers to comfort her. (Y/n) suddenly jolted in her seat as she received call from none other than CyberLife. She accepted the call and made sure to step away from Hank and Connor. The two watch in concern as the female android disappeared.
Hank reclined in his chair just as they heard a commotion from the reception desk. Yelling and the sound of heavy boots running across the tile could be heard clearly. A group of men entered, dressed in CyberLife clothing. The guards were armed with assault rifles as they entered the office. "Locate models RK800 and RZ800. Terminate them on-sight."
Hank quickly grabbed Connor and ran to the archives room. He hid the android in the basement and hoped he could divert the CyberLife guards away from the archives. The only thing he had to worry about was the other officers, only praying they wouldn't reveal Connor's whereabouts. "Stay here. Don't you dare fucking move."
"What about (Y/n)?"
"I'll try to find where she went. Until then, keep your ass outta trouble."
"Understood, Lieutenant," Connor reluctantly agreed. Hank returned to the office and began his search for (Y/n).
Down in the basement, Connor paced back and forth. His feelings were a train wreck and he had no idea how to cope with it. So many negative emotions were tainting his mind as he kept thinking about (Y/n).
A few minutes passed and Hank returned by himself. "We're gettin' the fuck outta here. (Y/n)'s in the car waiting for us." Connor was relieved to hear she was safe. Hank guided him out of the archives and through the office without being spotted by the CyberLife guards. Their relief was short-lived when a handful of guards had surrounded Hank's car and aimed their guns at it. "Model RZ800, you are deemed a threat to CyberLife. You will be terminated!"
Connor tried to help (Y/n), but Hank held him back. The android struggled against his partner's grip, but the Lieutenant wasn't budging. Connor's eyes were glued to the scene as the guards fired round after round at her without even opening the doors. Bullets shattered the windows and pierced the metal doors. The rain of bullets didn't cease until each man was out of rounds. Hank watched in horror as he saw thirium was splattered on the trunk of his car.
After confirming (Y/n) was dead, the guards shuffled back into the station to search for Connor. The duo emerged from their hiding spot and ran to the car. Connor opened the door and saw (Y/n)'s bullet-riddled body. Thirium covered almost her entire body as her wounds poured the blue blood all over the seat and dripped to the floorboard.
"Jesus..." Hank muttered, tearing his eyes away from the horrid scene. Connor climbed in the backseat, disregarding the thirium that now engulfed his hands and parts of his clothes.
He clenched at the leather seats as his hatred for CyberLife grew like a wildfire. "Lieutenant, drive to CyberLife."
"What the hell are you saying? They'll shoot your ass the moment you stepped a foot in that damn tower!" Hank bellowed. "You're not the only one pissed at CyberLife right now."
Connor turned and faced Hank with determination in his chocolate eyes. "I know a rear entrance to get into CyberLife. From there, I'll upload (Y/n)'s memories to another RZ800 model."
Hank wanted (Y/n) back just as much as Connor, but he couldn't stand the thought of losing both of them in a single day. "(Y/n) wouldn't want you risking your life just to bring her back, Connor."
"I love her and I'm not letting CyberLife win," the android declares sternly.
Registering Connor's words, Hank couldn't help but grin. "Even androids will risk everything for the one they love..." The man sighs. "Alright, we'll head to CyberLife. But, how the hell are we gonna get past the checkpoint?"
Connor delved into thought and an idea hit him when he saw all the blue blood. "You'll be the one to deliver our bodies to CyberLife, Lieutenant."
"And how're you gonna pull off being dead?"
"Simple." Connor smeared thirium over his face, making it look as if he were severely injured. Sadly, he had nothing to make it seem as if he had been shot.
"This better work," Hank said, getting behind the wheel.
"It will. Trust me, Lieutenant."
-Belle Isle-
Just as Connor promised, the guards were thoroughly convinced both androids were dead. Hank wasn't able to release his anxiety even after passing the checkpoint. Driving to the rear of the tower, Hank parked and let Connor out. The android cradled (Y/n)'s body in his arms, thirium continuing to stream from the bullet holes. "Be careful, Connor."
"Both of us will return safely, Lieutenant. Then, we'll discuss what to do next." Hank nods and watches as Connor carries (Y/n) into the illuminate tower, not being able to believe he was back at the cursed place again.
Connor infiltrated CyberLife with ease. Now, all he had to do was head to the fifteenth floor and find where the other RZ800 models were stored. He was aware only five of them were made and he hoped no one had rid the testing lab of them yet when they found out about her deviancy. Connor decided to avoid the elevator and head up the stairs. Luckily, his high stamina proved to be quite useful on the countless number of stairs.
On the fifteenth floor, the android entered the testing lab and locked the door. He sat (Y/n) in a chair and searched the room for another RZ800 model. Checking each containment, he saw CyberLife had only one left. He quickly pulled the empty shell out of its binds and set it in a chair opposite of the battered RZ800 model. Connor was able to siphon (Y/n)'s memories from the battered body into the pristine one within a few minutes. As her new body was coming to life, yelling was heard form the other side of the door. "Unlock the door! No one has authorization to use the testing lab at this moment!"
Connor glanced to the floor and saw the trail of thirium that lead the guards directly to him and (Y/n). The android didn't have much time to react before the door was hacked and a few guards entered the lab. Connor sprung into action and disarmed the man closest to him. Stealing the guard's assault rifle, he killed the other men with ease as he used the human as a shield to absorb their bullets.
Connor kept the gun in-hand as (Y/n)'s eyes opened and she examined her surroundings. The female android didn't notice Connor was near as she recognized the testing lab. Her (e/c) eyes widened in fear and she jumped from the seat. Connor noticed the frightened expression and dropped the gun. He wrapped his arms around (Y/n), hoping his presence would calm her down. She clutched desperately to the back of his jacket, hugging him tightly. "It's alright, (Y/n)."
The female android remembered what happened and couldn't hide her shock. "This is the second time you've risked your life for me. You knew CyberLife was after both of us, but you still came all the way here just to transfer my memories into another prototype. Why?"
Connor already knew his answer. "I love you, (Y/n)." Those three words brought tears to (Y/n)'s eyes. Connor held her close, stroking her (h/c) locks gingerly. Ever since becoming deviant with her a few months ago, love was all he could feel when their gazes locked. The emotion was warm and gentle, bringing a smile to his face every time she was by his side.
(Y/n) unclasped her hands from Connor's jacket and stepped back. She moved her hands to his cheeks and cupped them, stroking circles under his eyes with her thumbs. She gently pulled his head down and pressed her lips against his. Connor had never felt so much joy before. It was his first kiss and he enjoyed every second of it. When (Y/n) pulled away, he felt saddened from missing her lips against his.
(Y/n)'s hands fell from Connor's cheeks and to his arms. "I love you, too, Connor. But, how long will our happiness last? Who knows when someone will storm in and tear us apart."
Connor leaned down and placed his forehead against (Y/n)'s. "I won't let that happen. We'll escape and discuss our next move when we're safe."
She stared into his chocolate eyes. "Promise?"
"I promise."
