|Connor x Reader|

A/n: This idea came from this scenario I thought of:

What if you and Connor were the ones who encountered Zlatko instead of Alice and Kara?

⚠️SPOILERS AHEAD⚠️

Also, I want to reiterate what I posted on my wall for those who didn't see it. Due to tons of hate on Wattpad and Tumblr, I will NEVER be taking requests for this book. I won't point fingers, but they know exactly who they are. You can thank them for these consequences. Too many children who won't accept 'no' as an answer or respect my beliefs. I will still be writing one shots, but will NOT be taking requests at all!

Besides that, I hope you all enjoy! Love you all!!!

~(Y/n)'s POV~

The frigid downpour stung my skin as we shuffled down the deserted street. A few lamppost provided guidance down the road, but they didn't vanquish all the darkness surrounding us. Connor held my hand tightly, his LED a bright red as we trudged through the rain. Unlike the android, the freezing droplets of water soaked me to the bone, causing a dreadful chill to coat my body. "Connor..."

The machine glanced at me and his eyes widened. "Your body temperature is dropping drastically." Connor released my hand and turned his back to me as he kneeled. "I'll carry you, (Y/n)."

Mounting his back, Connor carries me in the downpour and to a house that caught our attention. I rested my chin on his right shoulder, only the sound of the rain ringing in my ears. Glancing up slightly, I saw Connor's LED was yellow. I closed my eyes, allowing my body to slump against Connor's.

The sound of a doorbell caused my eyes to open gradually. Peeking through narrowed eyelids, I realized we finally reached our destination. When I tried to hop off of Connor's back, his response was to tighten his hold on me.

The door opened to reveal a middle-aged man with a beard. His brown eyes bounced between Connor and myself as he examined us. "We have been informed you could provide assistance for deviants," Connor spoke up.

The man nodded, opening the door more to allow us in. "Come in." The android stepped in and addressed the man we had learned who was Zlatko from an android on the streets. Once Connor stepped into the living room, he set me on my feet and kept an arm around me so I could steady myself.

Scanning the room, I gasped when I saw a tall and buff android standing only inches away from us to our left. The machine took a step towards us, resulting in Connor stepping in front of me protectively. He kept an arm around my body as the unknown android took another step towards us. Zlatko called out to him, stopping his advances. "Luther, get the young lady a cup of tea. She could use something to warm her up."

Luther left in silence while Zlatko asked us to sit. We sat across from the man, the cushions sinking under our weight. He glanced between us once again before speaking up. "You're the famous RK800 model I've heard so much about. Never expected CyberLife's most advanced prototype to become a deviant."

"Will you help us?" Connor question.

"I heard Canada is beautiful this time of year. I can provide safe passage to the border if that's what you want."

I sat forward, a feeling of uneasy washing over me. "There's no catch?"

Zlatko shook his head. "I want to see where this relationship takes you both. I've never seen an android and human in love before. I'd be a shame if something were to happen to either of you."

Something about his last sentence brought an eerie feeling into the conversation. I tried to shove the feeling aside, but it kept creeping back. My hand that rested in Connor's unconsciously tightened, our fingers now intertwined and locked firmly together.

"Before I can contact someone to take you safely to the border, I'll need to remove your tracker," Zlatko stated, pointing to Connor. The android's LED turned yellow for a split second before returning to normal.

I immediately spoke up when I remembered prototypes weren't equipped with tracking chips. "That's not necessary. Connor's a prototype and doesn't have a chip installed."

"How are you sure?" Zlatko questioned.

"Because I helped assemble Connor. There's no tracking chip in his hardware. If there was, I would know." My words made Zlatko fall silent. The uneasiness was overbearing and I couldn't stand it another moment. "Connor, can we leave?"

He glanced up at me, recognizing the emotion apparent in my (e/c) eyes. Zlatko flew to his feet and desperately tried to stop us. "At least enjoy some tea before you leave. It'll warm you up for your travels." Luther returned and sat a cup of tea on the coffee table directly in front of me. I gazed hesitantly at the beautiful china that held the warm beverage, debating if I should take a sip or leave it.

Inhaling deeply, I decide to drink the cup of tea. An odd flavor spread across my tongue as the liquid made contact with my tastebuds and flowed down the back of my throat. I scrunched my face up at the strange taste before dismissing it. "I've never had tea that tasted this... odd." When I glanced up at Zlatko, my vision wavered. I placed a slightly quivering hand against my head, trying to blink away the sudden dizziness.

"(Y/n)?" Connor called my name, placing a hand on my arm. "Are you alright?"

"I feel... really dizzy and sleepy," I admit, my voice almost failing me. When I tried to stand, my legs felt like jelly and my knees buckled underneath my weight. Before I collapsed and landed on the ornate carpet under my feet, Connor caught me. He held my body close to his as he scanned the cup. "Triazolam..." The last thing I heard was Zlatko's menacing laughter before I passed out.

-Unknown-

When I woke up, my back was throbbing in pain as I sat up. That's when I noticed I was sleeping on the hardwood floor in a dark room. Rubbing my eyes, I cleared them of the grogginess of slumber and scanned the room once again. I was locked in a cage with no sign of Connor. The sound of growling was heard from under a sheet that was adjacent to the cage I was trapped in. "A bear?"

Just then, the door to the vast room opened to reveal Luther. In his hands he carried a tray, which had food on it. Knowing I couldn't overpower him, I sat in the corner of the cage as he unlocked the door with a passcode and placed the tray down gently. Our eyes met and I could see the sadness in them. "I'm sorry."

"Where's Connor?" I ask, ignoring his apology. Luther shook his head sorrowfully before turning on his heels, locking the door, and leaving. Defeated, I hug my knees and close my eyes.

~3rd Person POV~

Emerging from the basement with his memories wiped, Connor scanned his surroundings and headed into the living room. His eyes fell to the couch, where he didn't remember a second about what transpired before his system was reset. Luther ordered the RK800 to deliver Zlatko's dinner and he did as he was told without a single word.

Tray in hand, Connor heads upstairs and delivers the meal to the man. He sat the food down where Zlatko had told him to and left the man to tinker with the poor android who laid on the examination table before him.

As Connor left the room, something triggered in his mind when he saw a miniature marble statue of a wolf. Placing a hand on his head, he watched the scene in his mind unfold as if it were happening before his very eyes.

A woman with (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes smiled at him as she helped him put his tie on. "There. You're all set, Connor. How're you systems?"

"All is working well, (Y/n)," he answered the young scientist.

"Great! No issues with software or hardware?"

"No."

"That means you're ready." The necklace around (Y/n)'s neck fell to the floor, earning a heavy sigh from her. "Guess I didn't fix the clasp after all."

Connor picked up the necklace and recognized the animal on the end as a wolf. He examined the clasp and used his fingers to bend the small piece of metal back in place. Then, he placed the piece of jewelry around (Y/n)'s neck and clasped it. The young woman smiled up at the android. "Thank you, Connor."

As the memory returned, Connor leaned against a nearby wall to prevent himself from collapsing. The woman's name ran through his mind over and over again like a song stuck on repeat. He knew the name, but he wasn't sure exactly who the woman was.

Once recovered from the sudden rush of a single memory, Connor wandered down the hallway and into the door of a room that had a fireplace and a few tables covered in dusty, white sheets. Staring into the flames, another memory triggered.

"Are you alright, (Y/n)?" Connor questioned the freezing woman.

She nods, her teeth chattering loudly. "I-I'm fine, Connor."

Knowing she was lying, the android sat next to her on the bench. Even though he couldn't provide her warmth with his own body, the machine knew he could at least become her shield against the frigid winds.

(Y/n) took advantage of his closeness and rested her head on his shoulder. Connor didn't budge an inch at her action, but he welcomed her touch with open arms. "Are you okay with this?" (Y/n) suddenly asked.

The android knew she was referring to his recent behavior and his transition from a normal android to a deviant. The emotions were overwhelming at times, but he felt alive. Not to mention, (Y/n) hadn't left his side when she learned of his deviancy. She had opened her home to him and provided sanctuary while CyberLife desperately searched for their most advanced prototype they've ever created.

With the coast finally clear of CyberLife guards, Connor and (Y/n) headed back to her small abode. Inside, the woman placed wood in her fireplace and lit it, warming the room and providing light for the entire living room. She sat on the couch, her eyes glued to the rising flames before them. "Knowing CyberLife, they'll be checking those who worked on the RK800 project. Neither of us are safe."

Connor sat next to (Y/n), peering into her worried (e/c) eyes. He didn't say a word as he took her hand in his. The woman tore her gaze from the fire and met Connor's. She squeezed his hand gently before placing a kiss on his cheek. The two sat in silence, their bodies enveloped by the light of the dancing flames.

As the memory returned, more accompanied it like a flood drowning his mind. All his memories of (Y/n) and the time he spent with her returned. He also remembered where he was and what had happened to him. Knowing Zlatko was nearby, Connor kept silent and searched the rooms for (Y/n). Quietly but hastily, he searched the bedroom he entered. With no sign of the woman, the android moved to the next room.

Closing the door quietly behind him, Connor enters the large room and heard a growl from under a dirty sheet. He pulled the sheet off and revealed a bear with bionic components all over its body locked in a cage. The animal had no interest in him and curled into a ball with its back facing the android. Connor opened the cage door, allowing the mammal freedom if desired. Seeing the bear didn't move, the machine continued to search the room.

In the opposite corner was another cage. With no light providing a beacon through the darkness, Connor wasn't able to tell who or what the black, curled up silhouette was in the corner. A floorboard creaked underneath his foot, alerting the person or animal in the cage. It jumped to its feet and ran to the cage door. "Connor?"

The android recognized the voice and disregarded his stealth. He ran to the cage and saw the woman he had been searching for. "Are you injured?" He asked.

(Y/n) shook her head. "I'm fine. What happened to you after I fell unconscious?"

"My system was wiped. I was able to regain my memories."

"How is that possible?"

"The wolf statue on this floor reminded me of the time I fixed your necklace clasp and the fire in the room down the hall served as a reminder of the night we spent together when you learned of my deviancy. After those memories, all of them returned."

Tearing his eyes away from hers, a keypad lock caught his attention and he scanned the pad to find fingerprints from Zlatko on a series of four numbers. Trying every possible combination, Connor was able to unlock the cell. (Y/n) stepped out and immediately threw her arms around him. "I was so worried about you."

Connor hugged her tightly, resting his chin on her shoulder. He had been just as worried about her when she had passed out from drinking the drugged tea.

Their happy reunion was cut short when a shotgun was fired inches away from their heads. Connor immediately pushed (Y/n) behind him as he spotted Zlatko with the gun in his grasp. "Neither one of you are leaving!" He raised the shotgun, aiming it directly at the android. Before he could pull the trigger, the bear Connor freed only minutes ago swiped its claws at him.

With Zlatko's attention on the bear, Connor grabbed (Y/n)'s hand and ran out of the room and down the stairs. When he tried to open the front door, it was locked with no signs of a unlocking mechanism. With no way of opening the front door, the duo ran to the backdoor and found it unlocked. Running out to the backyard, they were stopped by Luther, who was blocking their only exit.

"Luther, stop them!" Zlatko commands as he steps onto the porch, aiming his shotgun at them. The TR400 closed the distance between him and the duo, but he bypassed them and headed up the steps to Zlatko. Confused, the man raised a brow and lowered his shotgun slightly. "What the hell are you doing?"

Luther snatched the gun out of Zlatko's grip and aimed it at him. What happened Next shocked (Y/n) and Connor. The TR400 pulled the trigger, killing the man within seconds. (Y/n) flinched at the loud gunfire as she averted her eyes from the bloody scene. Luther threw the shotgun down and directed his gaze towards Connor and (Y/n). "Go."

"Thank you," (Y/n) said. Connor held her hand tightly as they ran in the rain to find a safe haven where they could both be happy.
