Chapter 121: You May Kiss Ths Bride

When Hank walked up to Tasha he couldn't help but smile. "You look beautiful, kid."

Tasha smiled at him, "Thanks, dad."

"Your parents would be so proud of you." Hank said as he wrapped his arm around hers. He gently grabbed her wrist, a metal item being wrapped around it.

Tasha gazed at the beautiful bracelet. "That was—"

"Your mothers." Hank nodded with a smile. "She would want you to have it."

Tasha smiled at Hank, tears brimming her eyes. "Hank, I— thank you. Thank you for everything you've done for me. Thank you for being my family."

"Thank you for showing me how to be a father again."

"Hank, I'm scared." Tasha whispered as they walked towards the crowd sitting, waiting for them. Waiting for her. "What if I trip? What if I make a fool of myself?"

"Just breathe, kid." Hank reassured me, "I'm right here with ya."

Just breathe.

The concept was simple enough. Lungs taking in oxygen that allowed my body to function. But as I stepped ever so slowly along the aisle, the air couldn't reach my lungs fast enough. I held onto Hank's arm like my life depended on it, and for the moment it did. Everyone's eyes fell onto us — no, not us. Everyone was gazing towards me, in my white dress, walking down the aisle with my adoptive father.

Everything seemed to still as I caught Connor's gaze. His chocolate brown eyes met my green ones and I felt like it was only the two of us left in the world.

As the orchestra began to play, Connor found himself feeling increasingly nervous. He has went over his vows hundreds of times, but he was afraid of messing up. Connor took a deep breath, readjusting his tie for the hundredth time that day.

"Relax." Gavin mumbled to him from across the podium. "You're supposed to be happy, not scared shitless."

Gavin's words oddly calmed Connor down, and not a moment to soon. His eyes widened when he saw Tasha for the first time that day. She looks so...

Beautiful.

Radiant.

Divine.

Perfect.

The words all jumbled together as he stared at her, his smile growing every step she got closer to him. Tasha's green eyes met his and for a moment, it was just the two of them. No one else in the world but them and the love they had for each other.

Her dress looked stunning on her and as she neared him, Connor was able to save every small detail he could to his memory storage. He never wanted to forget any of this. Any moment of her in his life.

As Tasha reached him, she grinned. The flowers she was holding were purple and blue, resembling their favourite colours accordingly. Hank had tears eyes as he kissed Tasha on the side of the forehead before gently passing her hand over to Connor. Hank stood next to Markus as Connor gently pulled Tasha closer, holding both of her hands in his.

"Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today to celebrate the wedding of Connor Anderson and Tasha Price. This is a sacred right. An ancient right. As Tasha and Connor prepare to join their lives, it is important to understand that everyone present has played a part in shaping their lives. And, will continue to play a vital role in their continuing future. And thus, we are here not only to witness their vows to each other, but to bestow upon them our blessing. And, now the couple will read their vows."

Connor smiled as he gazed into Tasha's eyes. "From the moment I met you, my life changed for the better. You were kind to me, even though I was only a machine. You taught me what it means to be human, and helped me understand that I am alive. Our lives may not be conventional, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I promise to love and care for you, and I will try in every way to be worthy of your love. I will always be honest with you, kind, patient and forgiving. I will respect you, encourage you and cherish you, In health and sickness, Through sorrow and success, But most of all, I promise to be a true and loyal friend to you. I vow to love you every moment of every day I have with you, until I the day we die, and then forever after."

Tasha smiled, gazing up into Connor's brown eyes as she spoke. "When I met you, I knew you were different than most androids. You were kind, charming, funny, charismatic — Connor, when I met you my life changed for the better. You helped me become who I am and showed me that no matter what life throws at us, I have you, and I believe in you, the person you will grow to be and the couple we will be together.
With my whole heart, I take you as my husband, acknowledging and accepting your faults and strengths, as you do mine.
I promise to be faithful and supportive and to always make your love and happiness my priority. I will be yours in plenty and in want, in sickness and in health, in failure and in triumph. I will dream with you, celebrate with you and walk beside you through whatever our lives may bring. On this day, I give you my heart, my promise that I will always walk with you, hand in hand, no matter where our journey takes us. You are my person—my love and my life, today and always. I vow to love you every moment of every day I have with you, until I the day we die, and then forever after."

"In the presence of your family and friends, I now bind your hands together, to symbolize your new union of love, trust and friendship."

The minister binds their hands.

'Now, please look at one another and pledge the binding vows to seal your union.'

Tasha and Connor gazed at each other lovingly as they both spoke in unison.

"Mother. Lover. Father. Friend. Protector. Healer. I am yours, you are mine, from this day until the end of our days."

"Now you will exchange rings, symbolizing your undying love for each other."

Connor carefully slipped Tasha's wedding ring above her engagement ring, tears in his eyes as she did the same.

"I now pronounce you Husband and Wife. You may kiss the bride."

Connor gently caressed her face with one of his hands as he brought her lips to his. For that moment, it was just them. The roaring and clapping of the crowd falling away as the couple, now married, kissed what felt like for the first time. It was new. Something they both experienced together, as one being.
