Chapter 3
Chapter 3 - Mochi
The brunette watched her hands as she held the rake tightly to carefully grab every leaves that were lying on the ground.
She sighed and wiped her sweat with her forearm.
"That was all of them, right?"
But as soon as she said that, she felt the wind brushing against her skin. "No, no, no, no!" She repeated trying to catch the leaves which were blowing away. Unfortunately, half of the leaves in the pile were gone and scattered on the ground yet again.
Ochako whined. "No! I have to sweep all those, again?!" She then collapsed on the ground with her knees.
"Quit complaining and just get it over with." The green-haired said to her from behind.
The girl felt a vein popped in her head, glaring at the guy. "And whose fault was it?"
-
"Good morning, Uraraka-chan." Greeted Tsuyu once she saw Ochako entering the class.
Ochako yawned and smiled back to the girl with a tear appearing in her eye. "Good morning, I couldn't sleep well."
"Is it because of the horror movie we watched yesterday?" Tsuyu laughed with amuse, watching the brunette sitting infront of her.
"Not only that, I had to finish my artwork the whole night. I think I only had an hour of sleep." Ochako then took out a file in her bag as she showed her artwork from the file. "What do you think?"
Tsuyu widened her eyes with amazement from what her friend was showing. "Whoa! This is so nice!"
Ochako quirked a smile, blushing from the compliment. "T-Thanks. I want to see yours too, Asui-san!"
"U-Uh... I don't think it's not that great, it felt kinda rushed. Unlike you, you're way better than me." Tsuyu timidly looked down, trying to find her artwork in her bag.
"Don't worry about it! I won't judge or anything. Now let me see, let me see!" She persistently asked as she lifted her body slightly off the chair, checking out Tsuyu's artwork.
Tsuyu then revealed her rushed, effortless artwork at Ochako. "H-Here. I'm not really interested in arts, but it's for the grades that I need."
Ochako giggled looking at her work. "It's really cute. Maybe next time, apply a bit more colour when mixing the wate-"
"Whoa, that looks so bad."
The words that came from Izuku appeared behind Ochako when he saw Tsuyu's work. It seems that Izuku just came in class that he so happen to catch a glimpse of the art piece Tsuyu made.
The moment she heard that, the brunette immediately glared at the guy as she stood up infront of him. "Excuse me? What's your problem?"
The way he said it made Ochako's blood boil.
"I-It's okay, Uraraka-chan. It doesn't bother me at all." Tsuyu tried to stop her.
Izuku stared at Ochako as she did the same but both were looking at each other with hatred. Ochako then suddenly looked left and right, as if she was looking for something.
"What are you doing, get lost." Izuku told her.
There's nothing. Oh well.
Ochako thought to herself.
In an instant, she immediately punched Izuku dead on the cheek. It caught Izuku off guard that he lost his balance as he fell down on the floor.
"That hurts!" He shouted.
No doubt, it has caught the whole class' attention. They were all so shock with Ochako punching Izuku in the face, even though no one would have ever done that, only the one and only Ochako had the guts to do it.
Some of them were laughing looking at the fact that Izuku had been punched by a girl. It made him hurt his pride and he hated it. He didn't want to lose this fight.
"Uraraka-chan!" Tsuyu raised her tone, shocked by her actions. "That's enough!"
Ochako angrily gazed at girl. "Guys like him really pisses me of-"
But before she could finish her sentence, Izuku kicked her ankle, causing her to fall down as well. She landed on her back that she felt extreme pain coming from it which was hard to endure.
"AAAHHH!" She screamed from the sting, arching her back.
Izuku got up quickly and saw her on the floor in pain. He didn't expect her to fall down that hard. He just wanted to hit her on the leg.
Did I go overboard?
"Uraraka-chan! Are you okay?!" Tsuyu knelt down in a flash to hold onto her friend, concerned about her.
The guy stared at them, watching Ochako, tightening her grip, trying her best to endure the strong impact.
Izuku gaped his mouth, feeling his hand shaking as he started to move it towards her. He tried to reach his hand to her but there were so many times he hesitated that he retrieved it back.
But then he heard Ochako said. "I-I'm fine." She then stood up and jumped onto Izuku as she landed on top of him on the floor, grabbing onto his collar angrily.
"AAH!" Izuku screamed. "Get off me!"
"That really hurt, you bitc-"
-
And I guess you know what happens next.
Ochako thought to herself, smiling embarrassingly , looking down on the ground which were full of scattered leaves.
Do I have such temper? I think I do. But he does have one too. Now we're stuck here being punished.
"Hey, stop daydreaming and finish this crap." Izuku told her in annoyance.
"Sheesh, I know that." She clicked her tongue as she looked at Izuku. But glanced at his cheek where she had punched him which was already treated with a bandage when he went to the infirmary.
I wonder if it still hurts.
She just realized what she said and widened her eyes with confusion.
"Th-That doesn't matter! He did also hurt my back!" She whispered to herself. But then she looked down with a sad look after that. "But I wonder if he's okay. I did hit him really hard."
"Hey, do you have a death wish?!"
"S-Sorry!" She then ran away from him. The brunette arrived at a place where it was a few meters away from him. She panted and looked down.
Why am I scared?
-
"Will you also hate it if I do this?"
-
Her body froze in position, hearing that voice in her head again.
She then recalled yesterday what happened that time. Did something like that really happened? It seems like it didn't . She remembered the way he acted towards her.
How soft his voice was, how calming his touch was, how sweet he looked at her, the way he narrow that gap between their faces. Was that really Izuku?
Maybe he was just drunk.
She thought to herself.
But why did he say all those things?
Her eyes widened when she felt it. She felt her cheeks burning. What she recalled was getting to her now.
She was blushing.
No way!
The brunette slapped both of cheeks to snap herself out of her thoughts. "Stop it!"
"Hey! Pass me the trash bag, will you?" Izuku rudely asked.
"Y-Yes! Right away!" She said out loud. It's over, the moment she heard his voice, her face completely turned red.
The way she said out loud and ran towards Izuku with trash bag made him shock that he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "The fuck is wrong with her?" He said to himself.
Ochako ran towards him, running with the trash bag, hiding the blush in her face.
I have to give this quick so I can leave this place.
Just then, due to the thoughts that were lingering in her mind, it caused her not to pay any attention to her surroundings which caused her foot to get caught on the pile of leaves.
"KYA!" She screamed as she felt herself falling down on the ground but as soon as she could reach the ground, she felt arms holding onto her, preventing her from falling.
"Huh?" She then looked down on the ground, finding her body hugged by Izuku's arms.
After that, she looked over to him, seeing him looking straight back at her. It was only a few seconds before Izuku let go of her.
The two awkwardly kept silent, looking away from each other.
But Ochako decided to speak up. "T-thank yo-"
"Just finish up your work." He rudely left her, grabbing the trash bag with him.
The girl watched him walking away from her. She stared at his back, with her eyes saddened with her cheeks red.
She then talked to herself. "Because of yesterday, I'm feeling like this if I see him now." She sighed as she continued her work to finish it up as soon as possible. "Especially with this kind of atmosphere."
Ochako recalled what happened to them literally just a moment ago which made her eyes widened and face even redder.
What was that about just now?!
She sighed with with her closed eyes, trying to calm herself down. "Why did he help me?" Her eyes soon became half-lidded, feeling rather confused with what she was feeling.
-
"Argh... Why did teacher still made us do more work?" Ochako complained, sweeping the stage in the theatre which was in their school.
Izuku clicked his tongue in annoyance. "Just shut up, will you?" He said out loud at her, sweeping the seating area.
Ochako pouted as she felt her stomach grumbling. "But I'm hungry." She whined quietly, touching her stomach.
"Ah! I know!" She thought of an idea as she went out of the theatre.
"Hey! Where are you going?!" Izuku shouted angrily when he saw her ran out of the place. "I'll fucking kill her if she left me here to do all the work."
After a few minutes later, Izuku heard footsteps in the place as he saw Ochako running back to the stage sitting on the piano seat, holding a lunch box.
"Are you kidding me? She was just hungry?" He said with an annoyed face, watching her opening it, grabbing her food. "Can't she just eat later? She's not even done cleaning her area for fuck's sake."
He then went down the seating area to the stage. "I'm done so I'm leaving. Put the brooms at the back stage." He looked over to her.
Just then, he heard his stomach grumbled as soon as he saw Ochako, seeing her eating some good-looking mochis on her hand.
"S-Sure." She answered.
Ochako then caught him glancing at her food. She smiled at him, stretching her arm with her hand holding the lunch box at him. "Want some? I made it."
Izuku widened his eyes, furrowing his eyebrows, surprised with her offer. "W-What? No way. Eating food like that, I might end up fat like you."
The brunette gaped her mouth, shocked with his insult. She put down her lunch box with a sad look on her face. "I think I am getting fat." She said softly as she continues to chew on her mochi.
Izuku watched her chewing her food, and noticed her cheeks puffing as she chewed.
Soft.
The guy felt his eyes bulged as he immediately turned around away from her. "I'm cleaning the stage."
"Huh? I thought you were leaving, and wasn't I supposed to clean the stage?" She asked him.
Izuku realized that only now, as he mentally punched himself for forgetting that he was supposed to leave and especially, because he felt a small shade of red on his cheek. "Fuck, my cheeks still hurts, huh?"
"Your still cheeks hurt?" She asked him with a concerned look when she heard him. She then fidgeted her fingers, hesitantly to continue to speak. "U-Um... I-I didn't mean to punch you like that, I was just mad over something so small. I'm so childish, so I-I'm sor-"
"Just finish your food and leave, I'll be done with the stage quick." He cut her off, walking away from her. "How troublesome."
Ochako pouted once again, looking at her food, feeling more bad. She then realized.
Why am I apologizing?
That isn't like her.
There was something wrong with her.
After a few minutes of nothing of awkward silence with only the sounds of the broom sweeping the wooden floor, Ochako closed her lunch box and stood up.
"I-I'll clean the stage and put the brooms in the backstage, you may leave now." Ochako walked towards him, but stopped when she was already next to him.
Izuku answered back. "Can you just leave? I'm almost done anyway and I don't want you here, okay?"
Ochako furrowed her eyebrows, pissed at how rude he was. "Fine." She coldly answered, leaving the vicinity just like that.
The guy heard the door closed and the room was now completely silent. He sighed and took the brooms to return it back to the backstage.
"I didn't expect her to stay here for so long, there was nothing else to clean anymore." He said to himself. "What a pain."
After returning the brooms, Izuku then made his way to the exit door but something had caught his eyes on the piano. It was Ochako's lunch box.
"Are you fucking serious? She left this her-" He stopped his sentence when he noticed something written on the cover of the lunch box.
"Try one! It's good! :)"
He read the words and widened his eyes. "What the." He whispered as he opened the lunchbox, seeing only one mochi inside the lunchbox.
This girl would really leave one and eat the rest? And why would she ruin the cover of the lunch box, for goodness' sake?
He thought to himself with annoyance.
"Does she really think I'll eat this?"
After saying that, he felt his stomach grumbling. He stayed silent for a while and then groaned right after.
"She made this, huh? Bet it'll taste bad."
Before he grabbed it, he looked around the place to see if there was anyone. After reassuring his surroundings, he took the mochi and ate the whole thing. While chewing, he felt how the mochi felt like in his mouth.
Soft.
He whispered. "Yummy."
After swallowing the mochi, he squatted down on the floor and stared at the message of the cover of the lunch box.
He then spoke.
"Why did she do this, despite how I treated her?" Then, he buried his face in his arms, hugging his legs. "What's wrong with her?"
He sighed.
"You don't deserve any friends."
"Don't you get it? We aren't friends."
"You're not part of us."
Izuku stared at the floor, burying his face deeper in his arms, tightening the hug. He sighed deeply, scratching his head in annoyance.
He then spoke.
"I wonder if her back is okay. She almost fell again just now. She's so stupid."
-
"Don't do that ever again!" Tsuyu smacked the back of Ochako's head.
"I-I'm sorry..." Ochako whined in return.
The other girl then sighed. "It's alright, anyways, how's your back? Does it still hurts?"
"A bit." She answered back. "But I'll be okay!"
Tsuyu replied. "I see. You should rest later."
Ochako nodded with a big smile. "So what did I miss?" She asked.
"Oh, right! Guess what? Teacher announced that we're having a transferred student tomorrow!" She informed.
Ochako felt shock by the sudden news. "Really?"
The girl nudged at her arm with her elbow, smirking. "And it's a boy."
Shockingly, Ochako wasn't amused at all or excited like her usually. "I see." She replied.
"Are you okay? Why aren't you happy about that?" Tsuyu didn't expect such reaction coming from Ochako. Especially Ochako.
Ochako raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Should I be happy about it?"
Tsuyu hummed, staring at her for a while. "Well, that's all the news I have." She said, smiling at her while the two continue walking through the hallway.
The brunette chuckled. "I see." She said. "I have to buy some supplies later after school."
"Want me to come with you?" Tsuyu asked. "Oh, wait! I have tuition later!"
"It's okay, it's okay. I only need to buy a few things."
Tsuyu then said. "I see. Don't get yourself into trouble again."
Ochako nodded. "Of course!"
The two chuckled together and head to their classroom.

"Man, what's taking so long?" A blonde-hair guy complained, sitting on a rail on the side of the road.
"B-Bakugou! Sorry for the wait!" Another guy said in a loud voice, running towards the blondie, Bakugou.
Bakugou sighed. "It's about time, Kirishima, give it to me, it's so hot out here."
Kirishima, his friend, gave a bottle of water to Bakugou as he began to drink it. After drinking, he let out a big exhale. "Ha! That feels better."
He took in another chug of the bottle of water.
"I have to go soon. You should help your parents unpack your stuffs in your new house here." Kirishima told him, sitting next to him on the rail.
"Just for a while, this might be the last time we will meet after a long time." He replied.
The red-head looked at him for a while, then smiled with a sigh. "I guess you're right."
"Since we're here, I'm suddenly starving, let's go grab a bite!"
Kirishima responded. "Huh? You could've just drank something there."
"Quit complaining and let's go!" Bakugou told him with a smile, hopping on his motorcycle. "Quick! Before I'll leave you here alone."
"Geez, fine, fine." Kirishima hopped on his own. "You're treating me this time."
Bakugou scoffed with a chuckle. "Whoever gets there last will be the one to pay, loser." He then drove off.
"You're on." Kirishima said as he followed from behind.
-
Ochako sighed, going out of the store. She stayed in her place, standing still. She smiled to herself and closed her eyes. "I-I didn't expect to buy a lot."
She looked over to the plastic bag, full of art stuffs, with her other hand holding a sketch book and art blocks.
She then walked away, going back to her place. "This is so heavy, especially when I'm still carrying my school bag."
It was almost dusk, as the sun was about to set. "I guess I should probably take this route so it'll be quicker."
Ochako took a turn to an alley as she reached to another road which was leading her to her house. "I wonder what time is it now."
She then took her phone from her pocket, carrying the plastic bag with her arm to use her hand to check her phone.
"Whoa, I hope mom isn't worried." She noticed a notification from Tsuyu. "Oh, Asui-san! I wonder why she texted."
Ochako was now pre-occupied with her phone that she didn't pay attention to her surroundings. She was sure that there won't be any vehicles passing this small road since she took this road alot anyways so that's why she wasn't worried at all.
But then she heard the sound of a motorcycle coming from infront of her as she looked up and saw it going towards her.
"Look out!" The person on the motorcycle shouted.
"AHH!"
Fortunately, she avoided it but the person on the motorcycle took a sharp turn to prevent crashing into Ochako that he ended up falling down off the motorcycle.
"Are you okay?!" Ochako asked, immediately running towards him, dropping her stuffs she was carrying.
"Ugh... taking a shortcut was a bad idea, after all." The guy said in a low tone, grunting from the pain. He heard Ochako and saw her running towards him. "I'm okay, next time, pay attention to the road."
Ochako answered back, squatting down to help him get up. "I-I'm sorry. But do you need to go to hospital?"
"No, I said I'm fine. Look, I'm not bleeding anywhere, right?." He showed her his arms and legs which were covered with clothing. "Luckily, the accident wasn't so bad."
He took off his helmet. "Anyways, I'm kinda lost here. Do you know where to get to this place?" He then showed him his phone, showing her a building.
Ochako looked at it and replied immediately. "Oh, you just use this road, it'll be faster, then take a left. After that, you will see a fountain ahead, once you get there, you go left again then you will see your destination."
The guy responded. "Nice, thanks!" He smiled. "Ha... I think I'm paying for this one."
Ochako looked at him with concern. "Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yeah, don't worry about it." The guy then noticed Ochako's attire. She was wearing her school uniform which Bakugou suddenly recognized. "Hey, are you-"
Ochako's phone then rang from her pocket. "Oh! Sorry I have to get this."
She then answered the call which came from her mom. She asking where Ochako was. After talking, she immediately grabbed her stuffs on the ground. She noticed the guy was still here, holding onto his motorcycle.
"You're still here?" She asked, then walked towards him. "Oh, wait!" She took something from her backpack. "Here! Just in case you have an injury later!"
The guy took a bandage from her. He looked at it and saw that it was pink with bear patterns in it. He almost laughed at the design but decided to hold it in with a smile. "T-Thanks."
"I have to go now. My mom called me and she was super worried. I hope you're okay! Bye now!" She told to him, about to leave.
"U-Um, wait!" He called her which made Ochako stopped her tracks to look back at him. He continued. "I could bring you there, just hop in, I'll lend you my helmet." He then patted on the seat on his motorcycle.
Ochako looked over to the motorcycle. She smiled at him back. "It's okay! My house is just right around the corner. Thanks for the offer."
She then left him. The guy watched as she left the alley. He spoke to himself as he hopped on his motorcycle.
"She's from that school too?"
-
"Bakugou! Where have you been?!" Kirishima said to the blond guy. "You're still paying!"
Bakugou chuckled as they both went inside the building. "Sorry, sorry, I got lost and met up with this girl."
"Geez, you're hitting on girls at this time?" The red head furrowed his brows.
"I wasn't. I almost crashed into her."
"Really?! Is she alright?"
"Idiot, you should be asking me that." He replied, annoyed. "But the girl is okay."
Kirishima then said. "Be careful next time, sheesh."
Bakugou placed his hands behind the back of his head as he rested his arms and let out a loud sigh. "But if I'm honest, she's kinda cute."
The other guy laughed, patting his back. "That's what you say to every girl, stupid."
Bakugou awkwardly laughed along with him. "I-I guess so."
The blonde guy then took out something from his pocket and looked at the bandage that was given to him by the brunette. He recalled about the uniform he saw her wearing.
"Oh, and it so happen that she's from the same school I'm transferring to." He told.
"Seriously?! What coincidence!" He said with amusement then laughed. "Are you going to go after her now?"
The blonde guy laughed as well. "Be quiet, will ya?"
Kirishima then asked out of curiosity. "By the way, what made you decide to transfer to that school?"
Bakugou put the bandage back in his pocket and replied to the red head. "What's the reason?"
Kirishima nodded in return.
He then answered with a smile, looking up.
"To meet an old friend of mine."
