The Tremors
A snow white pegasus flew around his home. This was Snowflutter, and he was an Ancient. Ancients are creatures who are as old as the Destruction War. Each type of mythical creature species had at least one. Snowflutter was the only one in his species.
A giant creature sat at the outside of his home. Her six heads looked at the sky. Each of them looking for something, or someone.
Snowflutter landed in front of what many have known her as Scylla. This dangerous creature was almost as old as time.
Scylla bowed her head in acknowledgement. "Hello Snowflutter."
The ground beneath them trembled slightly. "Hello Scylla."
"The trembles are new. Do you know what they mean?" Scylla was older than Snowflutter, but they didn't care. An Ancient was an Ancient. And only a few were still alive to that day.
"No. Do you?" The trembles were indeed new. They meant something, though. The Ancients didn't know what.
"No," Scylla said. They spoke in polite manner to each other. Scylla had a temper that could be easily set off. Snowflutter watched what he said. "That is why I asked you."
"What are we going to do?" Snowflutter asked. "What danger is behind this?" He stomped his hoof, nervous.
"I think, it is time of the Destruction Prophecy," Scylla said.
Snowflutter breathed in sharply. "The Destruction Prophecy?" he whinnied. 'But there is a reason why we call it that."
"Yess. After the Destruction War." Scylla's temper flared.
Snowflutter snorted. "Not just that, but the chance it will bring destruction. Like it is titled!"
Scylla rose to her full height and hissed. "But there is a chance of salvation too! We need to fulfill it!"
Snowflutter did not like the sound of this. "Oh yes," Snowflutter said bitingly. "We don't even know who we need!"
Scylla and Snowflutter glared at each other. Scylla then closed her eyes and breathed through her nose. "What other choice do we have?" she asked. 'These trembles aren't felt by anyone except the Ancients."
Snowflutter held out his wings. "That's not exactly true. We know that at least the Ancients can feel it. What about others? No one here has come to me about any tremors."
The moon seemed to be glowing brighter. Scylla's eyes portrayed hope. "I hope so." She got up to leave.
"We need to gather the others."
Scylla looked at him. "Of course. It will be chaotic, but what other choice do we have?"
"No other." Snowflutter said as Scylla left. Her huge form wasn't easy to hide. In a few minutes she was only a speck in the distance.
"No other choice," Snowflutter repeated to himself.
The day of the Destruction Prophecy has begun.
