EGO POV Hai Kuan (Only for this chapter)

I have been a guest of Yibo, his husband and his in-laws for a few days now. I can really understand why he feels so completely comfortable here. Here it is nice, quiet and around him are humans, um no persons who love him very much and give him attention. Yes, even adore him for who he is.

As children we did not know this. We did not have a normal childhood and never normal parents. They did not give us love. We received attention only in relation to our strict training as assassins. I often watched him playing with these little bunnies and talking to them. He cuddled with them and laughed sweetly when they licked his hand. They were his substitute for the lack of love from our parents. And there are little bunnies here, too. But unlike then, he only has eyes for Zhan.

Back then, no one could ever see what was really going on inside Yibo. He always had the same cold look. Not even really, when you saw him with his animals, did he allow you to see behind his facade. But today you can see it. That love in his eyes, his laughter and the constant happiness are just beautiful to watch.

Right now, the two of them are on their way to the small town. They wanted to take me with them, but I didn't want to. Tonight I just wanted to use the time for myself and go for a walk in this beautiful forest. The peace and quiet here is just so wonderful, you can let your thoughts run free. Stuttering, I replied, "Um, yeah. Me, I'm Yibo's big brother."

"So you knew Wang Han?" Not that I didn't care about the rest of his story. But in our family chronicle, Wang Han is described like an idol. This was despite the fact that little was known about him or his life. The life besides being an assassin.
