Siddharth's pov

While he was about to say something, I heard bullet firing sound behind me.

I turned back in a jiffy and saw Miru crouching under the table. The water glass on the table was broken.

I looked in the direction of the bullet and it was a building under construction. I could clearly see a man aiming at us.

I was about to go near Miru when a bullet went really close to me. I leaped to the other side and crouched under the table. When I realised that I was safe, I turned to Miru.

She was shivering in fear. I looked back to see the man who fired. He started running downstairs.

I stood up to catch him whilst a hand held mine. I turned back to see Miru with longing eyes which were pleading me not to go. It's not good to leave her alone like this.

I instructed my bodyguards in civil dress to catch him. Yes, I brought them with me in case something bad happen.

I went on my knees, held her hand and told," you're safe dumpling, get up"

She looked up at me and got up slowly.

The second she stood up straight, she fell down again on my arms.

Oh god ! A psychogenic blackout again !

I lifted her bridal style and put her in my car.

I know she'll be fine but it's really worrying me to see her like this.

I admitted her in the hospital and sat on the chair outside her room.

Thoughts clouded up my mind. His words ringed," buisness man Mr. RAGHUVARAN KRISHNASWAMY is the person behind all these sir"

Why in the hell is my own frickin uncle trying to harm me? Why does he want to kill me when we're in two entirely different fields? Why is he targetting Miru?

I was thinking about all these while the doctor came out and told that she's fine. I rushed inside and saw her lying pale on the bed.

I went near and she slightly opened her eyes. She asked," why?"

"It's just a buisness revenge Miru. You don't worry" I told cause I didn't want her to panic.

She looks directly into my eyes. It shows fear, she must've been really scared because of the bullet sound.

I held her hand to give her some warmth. She held it tightly.

"I know you're really scared dumpling but trust me I'll not let anything happen to you atleast until I'm..."

She closed my mouth with her soft palm before I could complete the sentence and said," I'm not scared about myself Sid but about you, I can't imagine my life without you "

What good deed did I do in my previous birth to have her in my life?

After few moments, I was driving with her sitting next to me. I say," Miru I wanna tell you something important"

She turned and looked at me. I started," Dumpling, my enemies have known that you're my girlfriend so they'll try to harm you too. So... " I trailed off.

She was really serious. She asked," So?"

"You should be staying at my house for your safety and should take with you two body guards wherever you go"

She was about to protest but I turned my eyes to her and conveyed my feelings. She nodded her head like an obedient child.

We both went to her hostel to pack her belongings and headed straight to my house.

She was better now. I asked her to take the room opposite to mine.

She looked really pale and tired so I asked her to take rest and headed out to office to do my works.

I completed all my works till late in the night.

I got into the car and was thinking about Raghuvaran. He's my dad's younger brother who was sent out of the family approximately 20 years ago. I have no idea why he's trying to harm me now.

The investigators are trying hard to find out the reason behind it but my heart is restless. A few seconds delay would've killed anyone of us. I've seen many buisness rivals but none of them were ready to harm me and my loved ones.

I reached home with all these thoughts clogging my mind. Rani amma and Miru were waiting in the dinning area for me.

We started eating. Miru asked," did you find out who it was?"

"Yes Dumpling, we're collecting evidences now but his motive is still unknown "

She nodded and continued eating. I told," you don't need of come to office tomorrow Dumpling, you take rest"

She said," No Quokka, I'm completely alright, I've loads of work to complete as I took leave yesterday too. So please let me work"

After protesting for so long, I gave up. I thought she was weak physically and emotionally, so she could take some rest but she was stubborn that she's okay and wants to come to the office.

We wished eachother good night and headed to our respective rooms. I went to my room and tried to catch some sleep but I wasn't able to.

I decided to go to my study and read through the report the investigators gave. With the given information, it seemed impossible to know the reason.

I was so engrossed in the files while I heard Miru shouting.

I ran to her room and she was shouting," Please don't kill him! He's my life! Kill me instead of him "

Oh my lovely dumpling, she loves me more than her life.

I went and held her hands and called her name. She calmed down a little bit. I switched on the night lamp and was about to say her something while she hugged me tightly. I patted her back softly assuring her that we'll be fine.

After calming her down, I put her back to sleep and went to my room.

The next morning,

We both got ready for office. We both took different cars and headed to office. I sent few bodyguards in civil dress too to protect her. She insisted on taking a cab but I'm not ready to believe any cab driver in this situation.

I got down from my car and people gave me wierd looks. When I waved at everyone as usual , instead of waving back they were looking like I had 10 heads and 8 hands.

I shrugged at the weird morning and took my seat while my PA came running to me and told," I'm so sorry sir. I'm contacting them since morning sir, they're not answering. I've sent few men to their office too."

I was clueless, what is he talking about?

I asked him and he froze. Then after few moments he switched on the TV and tuned to a news channel.

The news just shook me.
