Chapter 66
"Alex, come on, we're going to be late," I yelled from the bottom of the stairs. We had to be at the school in twenty minutes for the opening night of Rome and Jules. Our entire high school career depended on this performance. If it went well and we passed, we graduated. If we failed, we didn't graduate.
"Good luck tonight beautiful," Paul said, kissing me gently.
"Thank you babe," I said, smiling at him.
"And, you look lovely," he said. I smiled and blushed at his compliment as I thanked him. I was wearing a simple black dress that looked professional. I had to look professional since I was directing it. I had my hair in a tight chignon and simple makeup done, but I didn't think I looked spectacular or anything.
"No, you look amazing," he said.
"Go get a shower or something," I said, shoving him slightly as my cheeks blushed more.
"I love you babe," he said as Alex finally made his way downstairs.
"I love you too," I said. Alex and I left, getting into his truck and heading off towards the school. His hair was disheveled, but I knew that the makeup and costume people would fix it. I also noticed his cheeks were flushed and his lips appeared slightly swollen.
"Were you seriously just making out with your boyfriend?" I asked.
"What's it to you?" He asked.
"Just curious," I said, shrugging slightly.
"Fine, yeah, we were," he said. "Don't tell Amanda." He was referring to the makeup artist who had given them all strict orders to not make out before performances.
"My lips are sealed," I said.
"So, Embry and I want to move in together after graduation," he said.
"What?" I asked happily.
"You and Paul are engaged," he said.
"Yeah, I'm sorry. That sounded really mean. I just was shocked that's all," I said.
"I love him Rosie," he said.
"I know Xander," I said. "And, I'm really happy for the two of you."
"Yeah, now we just have to tell his mom and Sam and Em," he said.
"I'm sure they'll be fine with it. They just wanted Paul and I married cause I can get pregnant, which is totally sexist," I said.
"I know hon, but I don't think they're going to like what we have in mind," he said, pulling into the parking lot of the school.
"What're you doing?" I asked.
"I'm going to the school in Forks," he said. "But, you know that. Um, Embry has income through the pack, so we want to get a house together and I'm going to commute to school and get a part time job to help out with things."
"Alex, stop worrying, you have it all planned out. I'm sure it'll go amazing," I said.
"Thanks Dest," he said. "We should probably go in before we're late."
The next few hours were hectic as we did all our preshow stuff and then opening night started. There was an insane turnout for our modernized rendition of a classic play.
After the show, Embry and Paul came to find the two of us while Sam and Emily took everyone else outside.
"Hey beautiful," Paul said. "That was amazing." He leaned down and kissed me quickly.
"Thanks babe," I said, smiling at him. I was so happy that it went over so well.
"That was amazing, seriously," he said.
"I hope so. We've only been working on it for like eight months or something insane like that," I said.
"Destiny, that was amazing," Embry said. I glanced at him and he had his arms around my brother, causing a smile to grow on my face. It makes me genuinely happy to see my brother as happy as he is with Embry.
