You closed your eyes, letting your body relax, the warmth of him enveloping you, drawing you into a cozy cocoon. You inhaled deeply thru your nose, taking in the scent that was him, and you felt yourself sinking into sleep, the sound of his heartbeat becoming your lullaby.

~♡~

You woke the next morning slowly, remembering you were in Taehyungs bed before you even opened your eyes. You stretched, smiling lazily, and sighed, cracking your eyes opened. And you gasped.

Tae was next to you, on his side, elbow on the bed and hand propping up his head as he gazed at you.

Your hands came up over your chest as you drew in deep breaths, trying to calm your suddenly racing heart.

You glanced at him, seeing that he was still watching you.

"What are you doing?" You whispered.

"Looking at you."

Ask a stupid question....

You shook your head.

"Why?"

"Because you're beautiful, and I can't help myself."

You felt your cheeks heat up, and you closed your eyes. Your heart was still racing, but for a different reason now.

Suddenly you felt his fingers graze your cheek, and you leaned into his touch. His hand cupped your cheek and his thumb slid across your lips.

You opened your eyes to see him moving closer, and you anticipated his kiss, wanting to feel his velvety soft lips against yours.

Your eyes closed again just before his lips touched yours, and right then, everything felt right.

He kissed you softly, his hand moving to your waist, and you lifted one of yours to his chest, feeling his muscles move as he leaned closer.

He licked your bottom lip, and your lips parted, allowing his tongue to enter, finding yours, and you loved how he tasted as it pressed against yours.

He finally pulled back, and you weren't going to lie, you were disappointed.

"Y/n..." he sounded breathless, his chest rising and falling under your hand, "there's something I need to tell you."

He sat up, turning to face you, and you did the same.

You didn't know whether to be worried or not. To be completely honest, you couldn't help but be a little worried. He looked rather serious, and you were afraid that might be a bad thing.

He smiled, a small smile, and pushed a strand of hair out of your face.

"You're scared. I can see it in your eyes," he said quietly.

You averted your eyes, but quickly met his once again.

"It's okay Y/n, I'm scared too."

You felt the worry melt away, and you gazed at him, wanting him to feel comfortable saying whatever it was he needed to tell you.

He swallowed, looking away for seconds, then back at you.

"Y/n, I never thought I would feel certain things again, certain emotions. I thought that was forever ruined for me. Honestly, I was afraid to even try. I didn't want to go thru the pain of falling for someone, only to lose them again."

Your heartbeat quickened again, your throat going dry, and you had to swallow to try and moisten it.

"The thing is, I wasn't trying. I wasn't even thinking about trying. When I found you in my barn, well, I wasn't happy about it. I didn't want any added responsibility. That's how I saw you that first day, as a responsibility. But I couldn't send you off on your own in the bitter cold, even though I didn't really want you here. I had to help you."

Your gaze dropped, and you wondered again if you were only a burden to him. You obviously had been. He reached out, his finger under your chin, lifting your face so you had to look at him again. You saw nothing but affection in his eyes.

"At first, I was only going to help you until you had warmed up, and then I was going to take you to the bus station, or the train station, and buy you a ticket to anyplace you wanted to go. But the more I was around you, the less I found myself wanting to do that. I kept telling myself that I needed to, but every time I tried to make plans to do it, I would somehow talk myself out of it."

You lowered your eyes, embarrassed to look at him, ashamed that you had caused him so much trouble.

"I-I'm sorry...that I was such a burden to you. If I had known, I would have gone on my own."

"Look at me, Y/n."

You raised your eyes to him.

"You were never a burden. Don't ever think that.

You shook your head, certain he was just saying that.

"I'm sorry Taehyung. I'm so sorry that I've caused you so much trouble. I just wanted to get warm..."

"Y/n stop talking."

His hands had come up to grip your shoulders, and you blinked rapidly, surprised at the action.

"Stop talking, and just listen. Please..."

You nodded, looking at him in confusion.

"Y/n, I know I'm not doing this right, and I'm sorry I'm not better at it. It's just that I swore I'd never say it again. I'm scared to death to say it. But I'm also scared not to. I'm scared that if I don't say it, I'm going to lose you, and that's a chance I'm not willing to take."

You could only stare at him, your heart pounding in your chest, your mind spinning as you realized what he'd just said.

"Y/n, I'm trying to tell you that I love you, so much. I don't know when it happened, maybe it was the second I saw you hiding behind that bale of hay, or maybe it was the first time I kissed you. I don't know. But it doesn't really matter. All that matters is that I love you. I love you, and I don't want to lose you."

Your eyes had filled with tears, and his hands came up to cup your cheeks. He leaned in to kiss you, and as his lips gently brushed yours, you felt the tears spill down your cheeks.

He kissed you softly, pulling back and looking into your eyes again.

"I don't know if you feel the same, or if you ever could," He whispered, as a sob escaped your chest, "but I pray that you can give me a chance. I know you're still not sure about all this relationship stuff, and I understand, but just give me some time, and I promise I will show you nothing but love. I'll never hurt you. I'd rather die than cause you pain."

Your heart felt like it had been healed in that instant. There was no fear. No hesitation. You knew.

"I love you too Taehyung," you whispered, your eyes never leaving his.

The smile that grew on his face was the most beautiful thing you had ever seen.

"You do?"

You nodded, and he leaned close, his forehead meeting yours. You didn't know why you hadn't noticed it before, but you could see the love in his eyes. You weren't sure what he found about you to love, but you knew that stemmed from a past relationship that you'd rather forget about.

You knew you needed to try very hard to let go of those insecurities, and let this man love you without questions. You just needed to let go.

He promised he'd never hurt you. You believed him.

"Will you be able to handle living here with me? Living the farm life."

Your heart swelled with love, and you knew you never wanted to be away from him.

"I'd live anywhere with you. I never want to be apart from you."

"Even if I decide to move back to Korea?"

You pulled back, eyes meeting his, and nodded.

He drew in a breath, the look on his face turning serious, and he took your hands in his.

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"I can finally let go of that part of my past that only brings me heartache. You've made that possible. I feel like, at some point, I'll be able to go back home, as long as you're with me. That means everything to me. As much as I love it here, I miss home, I miss my friends and my family. I know I can go there now, and face my demons, I can let Sunhae go, and not feel the guilt I felt because of her words anymore."

You knew what he meant, because you felt like you could let go of all the heartache brought on by the way your ex had treated you. You would never have to endure anything like that ever again. It was such a weight lifted, and the happiness you felt at realizing you were loved, wanted, needed, there was nothing that compared.

You pulled your hands free, leaning forward and throwing your arms around him. You didn't want to cry, but you couldn't help it. They were tears of happiness. His arms came around you, pulling you onto his lap, and you buried your head into his neck, smiling and crying at the same time.

After a few minutes, you heard him sigh.

"We need to let the horses out."

You nodded, but didn't attempt to move, his embrace feeling like home. Your lips brushed his neck, and you felt him shiver, his arms tightening around you.

"Y/n," he mumbled, his breathing getting ragged as you started to kiss his neck, "the horses..."

You licked the edge of his ear, sucking his earlobe between your lips, and he groaned.

"...will be there when we get out there." He finished.

You smiled against his neck, gasping as he grabbed the edge of your tank top, pushing you away from him and pulling it over your head, brushing his fingers against your sides as he did, his eyes flashing as you lifted your arms.

He leaned into you, pushing you off his lap and down onto the bed. You smiled at him as his hands reached for the waistband of your shorts, and he leaned down, his lips connecting with your stomach.

You loved him. You knew he loved you, and you weren't afraid to let him show you. In fact, for the first time in your life, you craved it.

Maybe it was written in the stars, maybe this was planned before either of you had even been born. Maybe everything really does happen for a reason. Maybe, just maybe, it was destiny.
