~32~

I knew that I'd been very fortunate to make it as a trainee for Big Hit Entertainment. I wasn't better than anyone else, just because I didn't have to worry about money. I was very thankful that I'd be able to live comfortably for the rest of my life without financial worries. But I guess I hadn't planned to live here, in the USA, forever. I imagined that eventually, I'd move back to Seoul. Alone. So picturing a life with Y/n in it was a bit unsettling, because  the picture  was blurry, and it was hard to tell up from down, or right from left. Would she be willing to move to Seoul? Or would I have to be willing to make this my home forever?

You walked out the back door mumbling under your breath in agitation, but you were quickly silenced once you stepped off the back porch and were slapped in the face with the biting cold wind. Thank God Tae had pulled your hood up. You didn't even want to imagine how it would feel to have that arctic breeze blowing down your collar into your coat.

You trudged thru the snow, noticing that the path he'd swept had almost been filled completely back in by the blowing snow. You tried to hurry, the thought of the horses being out in this bone chilling weather causing you to worry.

You opened the small door, stomping into the barn to get the snow off your feet,  pulling the door closed behind you with slight difficulty due to the wind.

You quickly made your way over to the big sliding door, unlatching it and pulling it opened. You peered out, shivering involuntarily, not seeing the horses anywhere. You yelled, your hands cupped to your mouth hoping that the wind would carry your voice to where ever they were.

After about a minute you could hear them coming, their hooves slicing thru the snow as they galloped towards you. Finally, you were able to see them clearly. They were beautiful, running thru the sparkling white landscape.

You stood back, and waited for them, knowing they would go into their own stalls. Under other circumstances, you probably would have put the water, grain buckets and hay into the stalls before letting them in, but since it was so cold out, you didn't want to leave them out there any longer than they'd already been.

You were nervous though. You had no experience with horses, except for this. You had watched Tae go into the stalls with them, and it looked easy enough, but they were very large animals. You weren't afraid of them, but it was a bit intimidating, the thought of being in such a small  space with such a big animal.

They came thru the door snorting, trotting to their respective stalls, and you slid each door closed so you could fill each bucket with a scoop of grain. You grabbed Snows bucket and cautiously slid the door opened, stepping into the stall. She nickered at you, nuzzling your shoulder as you hung the bucket on the hook. You smiled as her nose disappeared into the bucket, and she munched noisily on the grain.

You stepped out of the stall, grabbing two chunks of hay from the bale against the wall between the two stalls, and threw them in, sliding the door closed again. You realized that you hadn't closed the big door when a gust of wind blew in, and you rushed over to slide it closed, latching it securely.

You took care of Fire, giving her grain and hay, then you grabbed the two empty water buckets, and carried them to the spigot Tae had mentioned. You filled each one halfway, making sure the water was turned off all the way when you were done, and wondered if you could carry both buckets at the same time.

You tried lifting one in each hand, figuring if you could, they would balance each other out. But you couldn't, it took both hands to lift one bucket. You scowled, embarrassed at how weak you were, and waddled over to the stalls, sliding Snows door opened and sticking the bucket inside the edge against the wall. You stroked her velvety soft muzzle, baby talking to her for a few seconds before closing the door and locking it.

After giving Fire her water, and some attention, you locked her door as well, thinking that this whole task hadn't taken you long at all. You turned, looking around the barn, and your gaze fell on the ladder. The same ladder you had climbed 3 nights ago, planning only to rest safe from the weather, and be gone before anyone knew you were here. Until one cute, but nosy cat gave you away.

You thought that cat had ruined everything at that moment. Now, you were realizing that maybe she had saved you. Where would you be if she hadn't discovered you, and caused Tae to come up into the loft, finding you hiding behind bales of hay? You would have left, and continued walking. Maybe you would have ended up someplace decent, or maybe you would have been picked up by someone no different than your boyfriend, or worse.

But you were here, and you were comfortable, and it wasn't a bad place to be at all. You'd grown very fond of the cat, and you loved the horses. Tae, well, you didn't know what to think of Tae. He was...annoying, stubborn, and unpredictable...but he was also extremely attractive, charming, considerate, and a good kisser.

You smiled as you remembered the kiss, and the circumstances that cause it. You had stupidly forgotten to tighten the lid on the blender, causing a huge mess, most of which had landed on your face and in your hair. He had been trying to wipe the sticky chocolaty mixture off your face, and for some reason, he had kissed you.

You had been shocked, to say the least. He had pulled back, and started to apologize, but in that moment, you weren't interested in an apology, so you stretched up on your toes so you could reach, and softly pressed your lips to his, hoping that he didn't pull away this time, at least not yet.

Your wish was granted as you felt his hand come up to hold the back of your head, and he moved slightly to better fit his mouth to yours. Seconds later, you felt his lips part, and without even a thought, you searched for his tongue with yours, feeling your heart jump as they met and swirled around each other.

You leaned closer to him, only to have him pull back, chest heaving to pull in much needed oxygen. But then he laughed, and you felt what could only be described as disappointment. You didn't know what he found funny, and you couldn't help but to question him.

He claimed it was your hair, and you stormed away from him to go into the bathroom so you could see what he was talking about. Once you got a glimpse of yourself in the mirror, you could hardly blame him for laughing. You also wondered, since you now realized he really was laughing at your hair, if maybe he'd enjoyed the kiss.

You had cleaned yourself up the best you could, but your hair was hopeless. There was no helping it until you were able to shower again, and wash the ice cream and syrup out of it. However, there was no reason to be upset with him. You would have laughed at you too.

But, the kiss...you had no idea why he'd kissed you. Even more confusing was that you didn't know why you enjoyed it. Kissing had never been your favorite thing. Your boyfriend was rough, and sloppy, and tasted like cigarettes. It was just something you avoided if at all possible.

But Tae... wasn't rough or sloppy. He was gentle, and his lips were soft. He tasted like strawberrys and vanilla. You found yourself hoping that he kissed you again. But he'd tried to apologize, and that gave you little hope that it would happen a second time.

You sighed, knowing you needed to get back inside, before he hurt himself again. The stubborn fool had already dropped a piece of firewood on his foot, you assumed because he'd tried to carry in more than what he should have at one time. You were worried that he may have fractured a bone in his foot. But he refused to go to the hospital and have it checked.

You said goodnight to the horses, and left the barn, making sure the door was latched securely so it didn't blow opened in this awful wind. You turned, wondering why the house had to be so far away, and started towards it, wanting nothing more than to be inside where it was warm, with Tae. You noticed the sky was a pretty pink, the sun just starting to set, and knew it would be dark soon.

It was your turn now to take care of Taehyung, and make sure he stayed off his foot for as long as you could keep him off it. You knew he was just pigheaded enough to not listen, believing he could take care of himself. Maybe you should let him, then when he ended up being in more pain, because you were right and he needed to go to the hospital, you could point out that he should have listened to you in the first place.

You smiled as you climbed the steps to the back porch and stomped your feet off, opening the door to step inside. You were greeted with the sight of Tae, still sitting in the same spot at the table, staring aimlessly across the room. He looked up when he heard you, the expression on his face unreadable as he looked right at you.
