Ash's POV

I sent Noctowl out to scout the area, and it returned with a worried expression.

I sensed something unpleasant from his aura, the owl pokemon allowed me in and saw what's happen.

aerial view: some team rocket grunts and some people in red out fit? who are they?

Upon seeing the grunts, noctowl flew closer. There's is two cages. one of them contains a severely injured charizard with a shiny stone on its tail. In the other cage lies someone who was thought to be dead a few years ago, my brother, Red.

and in that clearing of the forest, the team rocker grunts handed the truck to the people in red outfit. and then the view is blocked by smoke. All I see in Noctowl memory now is a aura sphere sent towards the grunts. Then Riley and his lucario tried to free the charizard and my brother.

Me: thx Noctowl. Serena, Dawn, I have an emergency, I have to leave!

Me: mom!

Delia: what is it ash?

Me: I saw Red, technically noctowl saw Red in the forest, with team rocket and some guys in red suit

Suddenly we heard a dash out of the kitchen.

and we saw Grace running out with a calvary sword.

Grace: team Flare! I am coming. Guys, team flare is chasing my cousin and his lucario. Stay here. I need to help him!

Me: is his name Riley?

Grace: yes.

Then I am coming too!

Delia: Grace, you can't do this, you have not been doing this for a long time! Let Ash deal with it.

Me: yes. Stay here and I will be right back!

Then a worried greninja and lucario ran to my side, held onto me as I teleported.

the thing is when I arrived, those grunt has already disappeared.

leaving a lucario standing , two cages and an unconscious Riley.

I asked: lucario, what happened

'Good you are here ash, those guys retreated, they don't know you have come, quick, teleport Riley and thhe others away!' I will fend them off!' ~telepathy

I wore a mask in case since I don't want anyone to see me.

I teleported Red and the charizrd back first. I am afraid if those grunts would found out about where they have gone so I sent greninja and lucario back to protect them. Then I went back to find Lucario, fending his trainer from the returning grunts.

grunt: who are you, don't stand in our way unless you want to be killed!

I teleported and attacked and all the grunts fainted.

Suddenly, I felt I was cut by something on the arm.

i have used up a lot of energy by now. Though I am gifted with enhanced stamina, After taking down around 100 grunts and teleporting a giant lizard I am panting. It is dark so I used aura vision. I saw the person I don't want to meet.

Giovanni: Think you are a hero, masked vigilante. I am so disturbed and I could not concentrate. I knew something rushed towards me but I did not mange to dodge that. And I am hit by a rolling golem.

My anger is surging inside. I want to kill him. But I lied down and I could not conjure up any strength. I felt a psychic power held me up.

Giovanni: what is the matter, guardian? You are afraid? or you are too irritated to conjure up a blast to shoot.

I am trembling.

For the first time, my Aura failed me.

My body is in so pain. A few of my ribs must have been broken. I felt like the life in me is being drained away.

A mixture of despair, anger and fear made me unable to fight back

I caught sight of lucario, unconscious, fainted next to his injured trainer.

Blood is dripping down my fore head.

Giovanni: You took down so much of my men and you ruined my operation. Even worse you stole my precious asset. Dying is way too simple and easy. Physical torture? no, it is always good to toy with people's emotion.

I felt some vine whips hitting me, worst, a claw sank deeply in my chest, and torn the flesh apart slowly. I thought I am already dead.

No wonder people always that emotion is an issue.

I felt a dark energy entered me.

I can see clearly a darkrai is standing there and I started to have blurry vision, then I saw my happy moments. how i met pikachu, different encounters on my journey...and they are like ripped a part. Which made me felt pain from the inside. Then I saw a smiling serena...the smile that I can stare at for my whole life. I feeling that makes me feel warm, comfortable, then someone attacked her, and took her away. I did not know why, but anger surged. My determination to fight back, to protect her, somehow override the psychic and dark energy. And now I know who I am fighting for, my friends, my family, my pokemons. I no longer feel along and despair. I feel light glowing in me and power streamed down my blood. Every thing I just saw is reversed. The visions from being ripped back to intact. and at last I saw a raven hair boy, telling a girl, ' never give up until the end'

To Giovanni's dismay I smiled.

Feeling irritated, he asked: what are you smiling for

I said, for your stupidness.

I raised my aura and released enormous energy. I raised a shield to protect Riley and Lucario.

Riley woke up by the noise.

He said: Ash..

I replied, after fighting off the grip of the psychic pokemon: use your last bit of energy and teleport away, locate the aura of dawn and grace. Quick!

He: but you..

Me:no but, go now

Riley did and left.

I smiled and released the energy charged, hope this will be enough to blast them away.

Then, giovanni was blasted away, and I am sure that bastard will return soon.

The next thing I saw, was a colourful light andI was carried away. the blacked out.

I was in a bright room, the god pokemon is there.

Arceus: the power of love, the power of friendship and the power of hope, do you understand them now.

I replied: yes.

Arceus: that was reckless, but it worths. you finally understand what lies in the power of humanity. It is not pure brute force you need in this war. Giovanni will mess with your mind, your emotion, and your loved ones.

I said: I don't want them to worry or to hurt

Arceus: then let them be involved. There's no other way. If you want to protect them, to protect HER, then let them in, and help you and be together TO BE STRONGER . You need a team.

I said: maybe I will understand.

Arceus: you have but you refuse to admit I can see it, just like the way you rushed in to save your brother. You are only too protective. and you can't win Giovanni like this. And you can't always be there to protect her if you leave her behind to fight yourself.

And I heard that sweet, angelic voice...' Ash, Ash, where are you...'

Arceus: see, she is coming for you.

Ash: but wait, where am I actually now, I thought I was carried away.

Arceus: you should have been death if Xerneas did not saved you after that blast. Doing that in an injured body is extremely dangerous. Now your healing factors have become much slower that it may take longer than usual for you to heal all though cuts and bones. Xerneas laid you in a save place that the girl will find. And I am sure that she will be nursing you back to health with care and ..erh LOVE maybe

Now even the GodPokemon makes jokes.

I groaned and looked at him and blushed.

Arceus: what? it is funny to see you struggling whether to tell her you like her. And what makes me curious is that why you have that thought when it is only the first day you actually know her as how she is now.

Me: it is know of your business.

Arceus: sory, just playing with you. But she cares about you. Now you will enter a long sleep and ......

I blacked out.
