AN all rights go to Rick Riordan except for the plot and Nora, Kia, Gabriella and Belle which belongs to me. Also I forgot to write this last chapter but none of the fan art belongs to me unless I say so.

Nora's POV.

I was sitting around the campfire with Kia waiting for everyone to get here. 

I can't wait for the campfire to start Kia told me that it was magical like almost everything at this camp. 

I started talking with Kia about talking to Belle and Gabrielle but I could see that she still had her reservations about being friends with the so called 'Gossip girls'. 

I don't know why Kia would have reservations about being friends with them I mean I heard it somewhere that Gabrielle basically grew up here and she could, I don't know help us with our training maybe.

Kia leaned over and whispered "You know that Belle is a daughter of Aphrodite and Gabrielle is the one of only two legacies of Poseidon right; that means they have powers, powerful ones too. Belle can sometimes charmspeak monsters and she has a miniature version of Aphrodites magic girdle so she can literally enchant men and women and children to do her bidding and, and, and Gabrielle can control water and it heals her but she can't breath under because she's just a legacy" Kia rushed out. 

"Okay, I see your point. They can really get revenge on us" I calmly say to Kia "but you're a daughter of Thanatos right?" She nods her head at this. 

"Soooo what are your powers" I question her. This beginning to feel like interrogation for both of us. I feel someone sit down next to me but I ignore it, nothing, I repeat nothing is more important than this conversation. 

"Weeeeelll" Kia says slowly. 

"G-ggg-oo-o on" I say so excitedly that I'm tripping over the words. 

"My power is that I can control shadows and make them morph into an exact replica of anything I want it to be and shadows into an exact replica of myself then make myself [the one that's made out of shadows] draw out my Stygian iron crossbow" Said Kia nervously as if I would dislike her for having power over the shadows, quite the opposite actually; "THAT IS SO COOL!" I screech at Kia but then in my excitement I accidentally I elbow the person next to me in the stomach. 

I turn around "I'm so so so so sor-" I stop mid sentence because sitting there is Belle. 

Oh My Gods, I just elbowed Belle in the stomach and next to her is Gabrielle, legacy of Poseidon.

"It's totally okay" Belle tells me. I could see why she was so popular. 

"Well since I'm talking to you I was wondering if you and Gabrielle could show us how everything works around here since you know we're new here and everything" I ask Belle. 

I swallow hard. I hope she'll say yes 'cause it would be really hard to survive in this social survival game without help. 

Gabrielle narrows her eyes and glares at me while she and Belle talk. That is not a good sign. 

Then Belle whispers something to Gabrielle then Gabrielle grunts and she turns to me and says "We would love to help you guys out" she said that sentence through very clenched teeth and I can see Gabrielle and Kia still don't really want to do this. 

Then Gabrielle said to Kia "Why were you looking me and Belle that way earlier?" Kia swallowed. "Yeah, why" Belle asked 

"It was like a look of longing and if it was; what were you longing for" Kia looked around for and excuse. 

"Look it's a personal question" Kia says. 

Gabrielle or Gabby as I've heard people say grunts again. Geez is she even capable of saying something without grunting. 

"Look the fire is starting" Kia says to me in a hurry. I look at her suspiciously before looking at the fire and it's amazing. 

It's like as tall as me taller now and it's still growing. It's a bright red with yellow and orange strips in it, changing as the campers mood changed. I marvel at it. "Wow" I mutter in amazement. 

"You so have to tell me why you were looking at them like that" I stage whisper to Kia. She looks up at the sky then stage whispers back to me. "So here's my story: I had just come to camp a few days before you and I was already a master swordsman an-"

"Did you have to mention that" I fake glare at her while raising my eyebrows. 

"Anyway, I had only just gotten here a few days earlier and before you I had only one friend and I don't have any at camp then I saw them laughing and having fun together and really just wanted to have a friend" Kia said lowering her head so I couldn't see the tear that dripped down her face but it didn't work, alright, I saw it clear, very clear; clear enough that I almost teared up myself but I told myself that I should stay strong. 

What stays in the past stays in the past, you can't do anything about it but you can change what happens in your future and that's what matters. 

Kia stopped crying and looked up at me her big brown eyes full of sadness. 

I told myself to hold myself together for Kia then I hugged her and she cried into my shoulder. "Her name was Evie" Kia said. Then Kia grabbed my upper arms in a death grip and she started breathing harder and faster. 

"Guys what's happening" I demand Gabrielle and Belle. Gabrielle stared at Kia. "I know what's happening, she's having a flashback" Gabrielle reluctantly told me.

Flashback

Kia's POV

I was back at my old school with Evie. She was holding my hand and laughing just like old times. "Come on let's go eat" Evie told me.

 We ran down the hallway of my old school. "No running in the hallways" a teacher screeched at us. 

We looked at each other then burst into giggles. Together we rushed into the cafeteria line. "Ow" said Taylor, the popular girl, said snobbery. I rolled my eyes. 

Then Taylor bumped into me on purpose and dumped all of her food on me including her soup. I grounded my teeth together. 

"Ms. Maykerna, Taylor dumped her food on Kia on purpose" Evie yelled to our homeroom teacher Ms. Maykerna.

 "Taylor that was not nice" Ms. Maykerna said while handing her a detention slip. 

Taylor smiled sickly sweet at me and Evie before grabbing her lunch tray forcefully and returning to the lunch line. 

While she went by me she whispered "I will get me revenge" in my ear. Uhh that never will be less annoying. 

Me and Evie rushed into the janitors closet as soon as Ms. Maykerna left us alone. "That was awesome!!" Evie yelled. "I know right" I said. 

Together we did our signature secret handshake which ended in the hula. I rub my eyes. 

This feels too familiar. "Are you okay" Evie asks me. I look up worriedly.

 "What's the date" I ask Evie urgently. "Uh it's the 8th" Evie says. No no no. 

This is the day of the fire, this is the day Evie was killed. "I'm I'm I'm fine just thought that today was something special but I was wrong"

Evie looked at me weirdly for a second. "Come on- Evie started to say when a peculiar smell wafted into the janitors closet. 

"Hmm that smells like smoke, someone must be barbecuing something" Evie notices.

 I nodded slowly. She grabs my hand and pulled me out of our secret little janitor's closet. Evie sniffed the air. "That way" she said while pointing to the hallway on the left.

 I dragged my feet dreading the event to come. She opened the door to our Math room and gasped. "Fire fire!" She started to yell than she caught fire. 

"Evie" I yelled tears seemed to burn my face. The smoke drifted upwards.

 Her eyes widened as the fire painfully consumed her head. "Noooooooo" I screamed, anger flooding my features. Then three faces appeared in the flames, the faces of three old ladies knitting yarn slowly. Whoever did this will die.

Then I heard someone scream. I opened my eyes and I was suddenly back at the present.

CLIFF HANGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've written most of this book already but I haven't been writing recently because I've had soccer like four days a week which in short is tiring. But I will try to get back to writing this summer. Oh and everything will be edited later!
