The Wine Feast

As luck would have it the girls came just in time for a huge wine feast that was held every few years so Avo Jana postponed telling her story until after the feast. The feast was a gift from Avo Jana to her people. Since Avo Jana always used symmetry in every aspect of the meadow life, the wine feast was the day the symmetry wasn't a priority. The priority was celebrating life and love, and of course, enjoying the good wine. Jade and Amber were overwhelmed by the sheer size of the celebration and its natural beauties. Many types of wine were available for them to try out and that was great since they adored wine. There were so many and magical beings present enjoying the opportunity to just be, to enjoy the tasty food, good company and especially the delicious wine. There were so many types of wine, and they were all mouth-watering, to the point of ecstasy. One mouthful was enough to have an explosion of flavors in one's mouth. The girls had no idea how the wine was made but from time to time they could taste a familiar fruit and their tongues were constantly in heaven by the delectable taste. It felt as if it was their first time to truly taste the wine and its entire delicate aroma. Some taste buds they didn't even know they had awoken and had a magnificent time basking in the sweet delicacy. There was also some scrumptious food that they hungrily devoured, especially different types of cheese that they found went perfectly with the red wine.

Amber's favorite thing about the feast was the wine fountain which was simply breathtaking. The fountain was in the shape of two huge dolphins leaping out and squirting wine in a most gracious way possible. While she was mostly fascinated by the beauty of it all, the gracious shape of the dolphins and the enormous amount of wine, Jade was preoccupied with the logistics of it all. "Oh, for God's sake Jade we are on a MAGICAL island, it doesn't have to make sense!" Amber exclaimed at one point but that didn't stop Jade from trying to find some logic to everything.  Everyone else seemed to be enjoying the party. Some guests were spinning around in circles dancing excitedly; others were enjoying the food and drinks. There were some magical fireworks that were breathtaking and Amber watched them with eyes filled with wonder. After some time, even Jade managed to relax, so she and Amber started singing a duet in the middle of the stunning meadow. They were teaching the magic folk some songs from back home and having so much fun. It seemed to them as if they were floating with joy and happiness. Standing there singing, letting go, if just for a moment, their fears and worries, it was the most beautiful feeling they ever felt. Utter freedom with no strings attached was not something they were familiar with, so they embraced the feeling hoping it would last forever.

When the night fell, they lit a campfire and kept having fun around the fire. It was the first time for both Jade and Amber to do that, and they found it quite comfortable. Although Jade wasn't much of an outdoors person, even she enjoyed the cozy party. The warmth of the fire and the kind creatures made them feel warm in their hearts. The warmth that was so rare in modern society, the one of love, friendship, and pure joy. Even the embarrassing moments didn't seem so embarrassing or awkward. For example, when they had to ask where the bathroom was, only to realize that every bush or tree could be their own private bathroom. The funny thing was they didn't feel strange, they felt quite comfortable and liberated. They were able to truly be themselves without the fear of being judged or rejected. Finally, long after midnight, they all fell asleep where they were sitting just by slowly lowering themselves to the ground. From time to time there were some soft snoring sounds from the magical creatures but generally, it was a quiet and peaceful night, made for late night parties and deep relaxation after. That was the best sleep the girls ever had although they ended up spending the night on the ground.
