Story-1
[Based On Above Storyline]
*********
Sipping from her coffee mug with a straight face, she stopped her brown eyes on the phone's screen. A notification popped up with a news, that she was trying to avoid for past one month. He was getting married. His wedding invitation had been sent to her. If she weren't wrong, then it must have been sent by his fiancée. She never liked her and she couldn't blame her with it. How could she?
It was a beautiful day unlike those rainy days that were shown in the dramas. She was doing her work as usual, having thoughts of meeting him after her break. Her mind was occupied with the thoughts of him. He was supposed to talk about their relationship to his parents. A proposal and early wedding plans were all, that she was anticipating. Instead a phone call broke her daydream; let her hit the ground hardly. His parents rejected her; not wanting to have a daughter-in-law, who hadn't come from lawyer family. They would never welcome a worker of 'mere' web novel editorial house, as their family member. They already choosed a 'suitable' partner for their lawyer son for a long time.
Jo Dae-han and she were in a relationship for three years. That was, how they ended their relationship on a tragic, abrupt note.
Seeing the notification twice, she let out a long sigh. She had walked away, far away from that time. Only those scars and memories of him stayed with her.
"Ma'am, head is calling you." She was about to reach her cabin, Park Jung-min, the new employee of Life Story's editorial team spoke up from her behind.
"Okay." She replied with a smile and headed towards the head's office.
Knocking twice, she opened the door. With white winter coat and long, golden brown hair her head was typing something on her laptop. Seeing her at doorknob, her expression changed from frustration to relief.
"I know that only you can do it, Dong-kyoug ah. Please let him clear his problems." With her pleading voice, she looked at the other human.
Sensing urgency in her voice, she locked the door and came to her. She sat on the chair before responding.
"What happened, Na Ji-Na unnie?" She could be informal with her now.
"He is again having creative block. This time a major one. Please do something. We can't lose such a great Author." Understanding her assignment, she got up from her seat.
"Don't worry, unnie. I'll work as his inspirational agent." With a smile she left the room.
Apart from her parents and brother, only Na Ji-Na was the one, who stood by her side without judging her situation. As an employee and her school junior, she would do anything to overcome this situation. Typing hurriedly, she tried to contact him, dialing his number.
His phone was ringing.

Evening cafe was busy as usual, having office and college returned castomers. Holding her file, handbag, she was looking here and there to find him. It didn't take long to spot a person in black coat and grey inside outfit, sitting near the glass window staring at the entrance. His eyes recognised her instantly; he saw her picture on the employees profile before.
"Good evening, Author nim. Should we start now?" She asked while settling down on her seat.
"Sure. The contract is here, I suppose." His manly voice reached into her ears.
"Yes. The contract of three months." She replied placing it on the table.
"What if, I still didn't get my inspiration? Your former agent couldn't help me at all." His eyebrows raised, challenging her qualification with his sharp, brown eyes.
"You can leave writing it. However, I'm sure that that day will never come." Her smile broke.
"I have never failed in my assignment before, Author nim." She replied smilingly.
His grin broadened sensing her confidence.
"Then call me by my pen name from now on, leaving the honorific." He said while signing the contract.
"Sure. Thank you for trusting me, Myul Mang." She smiled looking at his signature.
Today was 24th November 2020. 2nd March 2021 would be their last day of contract, approximately 100 days later.
°°°°°°°°°°°°
"Nice place! So you often visit here for it." His voice reached to her, while she was busy reading his storyline.
"Yes. I always do my works in this place. It's nice; privacy is also not a concern here. On the top of that, they will not disturb us working here." She pointed her eyes to the counter.
A boy in his early 20's was standing there in his uniform taking orders from the castomers. Behind him, another man in her age group was handling the account section.
"Why? They know you?" He asked again while observing the younger boy coming towards them.
"Yep. It's.."
"Noona! Here is your coffee." The younger boy's words clarified his confusion.
She looked up from her file and nodded her head.
"It is for you, sir." He placed it in front of him.
"Thank you." He grinned a little before sipping from his mug.
"Another assignment or a date?" Her brother asked with mischief.
"Of course work, Tak Sun-kyun!" She replied with a bored face; Myul Mang's grin got bigger.
"Well know you. I won't disprove if you dated him. I like him more than that old hog!" Narrowing his mischievous eyes, he ran away from there, before his noona could beat him up.
He chuckled lowly not being able to hold himself further.
"This boy! Please don't mind him. He is always this crazy." Her eyes were apologetic.
"Don't worry. I didn't mind. So it's your younger sibling's cafe?" His eyes were inspecting the place, while reading her lips.
"Yep. Tak Sun-kyun, my youngest brother and his school senior Lee Hyun-kyu founded this cafe together after finishing their graduation. It's doing good now." Her eyes were on the synopsis, that he wrote.
It had been two days since they signed that contract. Within two days she came to understand him a bit. He was one of the best thriller web novelist, trending in South Korea. Two of his novels were being reviewed for drama and movie. Although out of the blue why he wanted to write a fantasy romance genre was still a mystery to her; she was quite surprised at first. Not action packed fantasy, but a heart fluttering melodrama.
"So, she had 100 days to live and he would be her saviour till the end, letting her enjoying the rest of her life. Have you given a thought for the ending?" She asked the same question, that she asked last day.
"Yep. I intended to make it a tragedy. Sad ending stays in readers' hearts for long time." He replied looking at her.
She nodded her head in agreement. She had to let him get his inspiration from this point on. He was having problems organising the story progression. As he already decided the destination, the journey wouldn't be a problem anymore. He had already done 40% work here.
"Okay. Let's talk about the tropes that you want to put in. Would you like to put comedic touch or full of tragedies?" She asked while retuning his notebook.
"I was thinking to.."
"Oh my God, Ms. Tak! What a coincidence!" Their conversation got interrupted with a female voice.
She looked at the direction not being ready for this situation. Jo Dae-han and his fiancée were standing a metre away from their table, holding hand on hand.
"We were just passing this cafe and thought of stopping by here. How are you doing? Did you get our wedding card?" Her sugar-coated words were poking diggers into her heart.
It was intentional indeed. She didn't let it show on her face. Her ex boyfriend was standing beside his fiancée with guilty face, not saying anything against this wrong deed.
He never does, anyway.
"Yep. Congratulations! Have a great life ahead." She said with a fake smile.
"Thank you so much! You have to come in our wedding. No refusing!" She said looking at her fiancé.
Myul Mang was observing their faces and sensed some tension at the cafe counter. Tak Sun-kyun was being held by his co-worker Lee Hyun-kyu. His eyes fell on his companion, inspiration agent. Instantly he knew, what the solution could be.
"Su.."
"Sure! We will be present there on your special day. Right yeobo (honey)?" Interrupting her, he spoke up with a smug.
Three of them were surprised by his sudden answer. Though she handled her emotion quickly and played along with him.
"Yes. We will be there."
"Who is his?" Shock was quite noticable in that woman's voice.
"You didn't say anything about me to your friend, yeobo?" He came closer to her, extending his hand.
Interlocking their fingers, he replied with a smile, "It's okay. Let me introduce myself. I'm her boyfriend. We are dating for past two weeks. Nice to meet you."
She smiled at him before looking at her ex's face. It was highly satisfying. After a long time she was having much fun. Tak Sun-kyun also enjoyed it from their behind. His liking for this tall guy with foxy eyes grew up instantly.
**°**
"Thanks for the help." Her eyes smiled while looking at the street.
"Nope, thank you! I finally got my first kick for developing this story." His grin broadened looking at her face.
°°°°°°°°°°°°
"The Tteok-bokki here is really the best!" She told between the bites.
"Told you! I used to come here daily. It never disappoints." He said munching.
"So, you want something thrill and exciting right?" She was looking at him, while placing the last bite on it.
"Yep. It's very easy to create such things in thriller. But in romance, I don't know what to do." He was staring at her with empty eyes.
"Hmmm. What about something dramatic? Melodrama itself a drama. Hence, there will be no problem." She justified her statement; he nodded his head.
"But how? The girl is dying. Isn't it the most dramatic issue?" His question paused her for a moment to think something.
Visiting this roadside restaurant was his idea. Beside the Han river, in this winter season everything was favorable for their business. 20 days had already passed. With her help he had developed the story plot further than he ever expected, overcoming his writer block.
"How about, 'Love me till the world ends'? Dramatic and thrilling." She suggested.
"Hmm..but." He didn't catch it.
"Life-death situation with this much angst. She would die. So it would be best to give such lines. Don't you think?" She responded.
"Got it! What about this? 'Love me to the point that you want to destroy the world for me!' What say?" He was exited same as her.
"The best! The readers will be wooing over it. It sounded so iconic!" She voice was spilling joy.
"So, 'Love me to the point that you want to destroy the world for me!' Perfect!" He scribbled those words in his notebook.
"You girls really love 'bad boys'. Don't you?"
"Shut up!" He chuckled loudly getting her counter back.
She was looking at his joyous smile. That dimple on his right side was looking beautiful under this yellow light. Her heart melted; without her knowledge she smiled in this warmth for a long time.
°°°°°°°°°°°°
"60% is done and the progress is pretty well. I knew that only you could do it." Na Ji-na placed the file in her shelf before heading out to the cafe.
"Hmm. I know right." She smiled.
She was smiling a lot these days. Sky was being extra clear; sunshine was being bright. Somehow she was enjoying it fully. Winter in South Korea was hard. However, it wasn't bothering her these days. She was enjoying her life.
"I'm loving it." Her thought broke hearing Na Ji-Na's voice.
"What?" She responded, before sipping a little more from her mug.
"You! You are smiling, sparkling, being happy. I'm loving it!" Her eyes said it; she noticed.
"May be. Tell me about you. Cha Joo-ik is still reading that book?" She asked changing the topic.
Na Ji-Na got her direction and smiled a little. It wasn't new to her seeing it. She nodded her head with an agreement.
"He is still into it and keeps telling me to thank you for the recommendation. He even.." Her phone began to ring.
"Speaking of the devil. Hello chagie (darling)!" Laughingly, she picked up her husband's call.
She chuckled while seeing her unnie's love for her husband. Their 5th marriage anniversary was coming soon. She needed to think about the gift faster. It didn't take long to get lost in her thoughts again. Therefore, it was true that she was happy. People around her were noticing it too. When had it started? 1 week ago? Two weeks ago? Or more than it?
4 o'clock was on her phone. She needed to go for the meeting him now. She got up from her seat.
"Bye for now, unnie." She greeted.
"Bye. Tak Dong-kyoug! Give it a try if you are happy. He is handsome as well." She winked before waving her hand, still talking to her husband on phone.
What? It's not because of him. Come on!
**°**
"I need a link to connect their love. To be specific a kick that would be the beginning of their love." He stated looking at the sky.
"Love doesn't always need a kick for beginning. It just happens." She responded looking at phone.
The weather forecast was showing rain in this evening.
"Shit. I don't have any umbrella as well." She murmured staring at the sky.
"It's going to rain then. I don't have either. Should we buy.." He couldn't complete his sentence, before it started raining.
"Damn! Anything but rain..." She groaned in frustration.
It was speeding up gradually. They would be drenched in it within second, if they had tried to come under it.
"You hate rain right? Don't you have any good memories of it?" He asked gazing at her face.
"It's not like that. It's just cold and wet."
"Wanna run?" She was surprised with his sudden query.
"What?"
"Let's go!" She was about to refuse but he was faster.
"Ya! YA!" He didn't stop; on the contrary he increased his speed.
They ran on the street, crossing the bus and empty shops. Rain was pouring on them; cold was getting dense. He began to climb up on a nearby staircase, gripping her hand tightly.
"Will you stop now? I'm having shortage of breath." She let her words out, making him stop on a place; they reached on the top and he was also holding his breath.
"See..I told you..it's fun..." He said in between his panting.
"Yep right. I'm completely wet now. We will catch cold." She replied quite angrily.
He let out a laugh glancing her irritated face.
"Let it be. It's nice to be in mess sometimes. Not everything will be accordingly our plans. But this moment will stay forever in us." Something was there in his eyes at that moment, that she couldn't utter a word.
So true... when we stay out from the rain it seems so difficult. Yet now, in this rain it didn't feel so. Rather, it felt so empowering...
He was looking at her smilingly; she was staring at him in dumbstruck. Simple yet so strong moment for her, it was.
"You are right. Rain isn't the big deal here. Rather how we see things, matter the most. If we continue run in the end we will reach our home soon." She uttered those lines spontaneously.
"Wow! You just created a beautiful dialogue, you know! I'm going to use it." His joy was beaming through his eyes.
"Then put a rain sequence in your story too. These things are much appreciated in romance." She replied with a smile; he nodded his head without leaving the grin on his face.
Her eyes capturing those silently. Their hands were still knotted together; the warmth of him was astonishingly making her shiver. She remembered from when she was sensing this happiness.
The day when we met; the day when everything started. The day when you brought smile on my face for the first time.
50th day of their contract had completed today.
°°°°°°°°°°
"You want to put 'fated to be together' trope in it. Am I understanding you correctly?" She asked while settling her handbag down with her.
"Yep. How to put those factor together? These things are very much important in supernatural fantasy right? I'm having issues with it." He let out a long sigh before checking those brands on the racks.
Today's meeting was scheduled in a shopping mall. He wanted some 'domestic' ideas for his female protagonist. She didn't argue. On the contrary, she was happy to be with him. Though Na Ji-na was rooting for it to be a romance genre, she knew that she only had professional relation with him. On the last day, these 'butterflies in stomach', 'feels so good' things would disappear too. She was just happy. Fine, she was utterly joyous with him and she just wanted to be happy a little longer before those monotonous days came back again.
"How about making one them forget each other?" He suggested suddenly.
"You mean one of them?" She responded.
"No, both of them. Only then I could write that 'fate factor' in it. Forgetting each other, still finding each other and falling for each other again. It would justify that they were destined to be meet." His statement spoke volume; she didn't contradict.
"I agree with you. It would be... Ya! Be careful!" She almost yelled catching him from being collided with a stroller.
He stumbled over her; their hands clasped with one another. His surprised eyes met with her fearful eyes. Unintentionally her heartbeat raced faster. A moment passed and they handled each other aftermath. She was the first, who broke the silence.
"What's your real name? I was about to call by your pen name. But it would have been weird to say 'Myul Mang' in public." She chuckled; he joined her too.
"Sorry! I was intending to tell you in the end. Well, nevermind. My real name is a bit weird too and you may not hear it usually. However, my grandmother still came up with this name and my parents didn't object." He rolled his eyes; she let out a laughter.
"Okay." She said looking at him smilingly.
"Kim Sa-Ram." He replied.
"What?" She was quite bemused.
"My name is Kim Sa-Ram." He said clearly cringing.
"Woah! I honestly didn't expect it." She responded before letting out another laughter, seeing his serious face.
"See, I told you!" He was getting annoyed, whereas she was enjoying it.
"Anyways, coming to the point, what kind of supernatural being are you creating in it? An entity that can destroy anything right?" She composed her laughter and started their left out conversation.
"Hmm kind of. You will know after I finish writing." He said while walking her side by side.
"When will you start writing?" She raised her eyebrows.
"After our contract ends. Though the plot is almost ready. Just some gaps are there, which I need to connect." He was showing his dimples; his smile was warming her heart again.
"Are you sure that you don't like him romantically?"
Na Ji-Na's voice began to ring in her head.
No, it's not like that!
However, her heart contradicted with her rational mind. Her shoulders seemed to become heavy. A tug of dilemma shot up out of sudden. Her bewildered eyes followed his gleeful face beside her. He was still searching for his favourite brand.
°°°°°°°°°°°°
2nd March. The day had finally come. The contract would be end today, evening 6 o'clock. It was 4 only. She was looking at the sky from her glass window. Na Ji-Na was already satisfied with her work and continuously praising her after Kim Sa-Ram contacted her this morning. He was finally able to break through his mind blockage and going to work on it from upcoming weekend. She was supposed to be happy. However, she wasn't. Yes, she wasn't and the reason was still unclear to her. Why? Was it because of the termination of their contract and not being able to meet him again or because of nothing happened between them? Or might be both? But why?
She walked out from her office and came near the exit door. Her brother's cafe was near. She had to wait for more hours. Hence, it was better to sip some coffee, bidding her time. She did just as she thought. Nevertheless, that unpleasant feeling was still present in her chest. 5 o'clock on her phone's screen.
Should I go for a walk?
Paying the bill, she took her handbag with her. The Sun was setting outside and the cold had reduced to a great level. Clouds were roaming around the sky though the sunbeams were kissing her face. Suddenly it started raining again. These kind of incident wasn't new in this season. She was standing near the door like others. Whoever had umbrella, began to walk. Whereas, she hadn't with her. Her eyes fell on a couple holding their hands and running under this rain. Their free hands were shedding their eyes to see the path. Smilingly, they were enjoying it blissfully.
"You hate rain right? Don't you have any good memories of it?"
Those moments began to flash before her eyes.
"Wanna run?"
She never liked rain. But that day, it was different.
"See..I told you..it's fun!"
Her breath caught inside her throat.
"Let it be. It's nice to be in mess sometimes. Not everything will be accordingly our plans. But this moment will stay forever in us."
Her heart was beating faster.
"..Whatever you choose, mountains or Ocean. We are ending at a same point, cherry blossom. We both love cherry blossom."
Her body began to move forward welcoming the rain, soothing her soul.
"Let's come again together whenever we have time. This Tteok-bokki shop is always good."
Her eyes getting moist. A smile of relief began to form.
"It's okay. Let me introduce myself. I'm her boyfriend. We are dating for past two weeks. Nice to meet you."
The tension that was storming inside her finally disappeared. The battle, that she was fighting with herself, had finally come to an end. The unpleasant feeling that she was having for days finally faded out from her. She had finally understood, why she was feeling all these. She had finally realised, what she was missing inside. She had finally acknowledged, what it was like to be in this emotion again.
A moment of realisation is so powerful, so empowering!
Every moment that she had spent with him was coming before her.
Her legs started moving of it's own. She was running under the rain. The girl who had hated rain throughout her whole life, was finally acknowledging it wholeheartedly; welcoming it gracefully. She was running towards her destination.
The Sun rays were falling from her behind, sending best wishes to her newly found awareness.
°°°°°°°°°
"What happened to you? Why did you want to meet me so suddenly? Is everything okay? It's very unlike you." His concerning voice reached her ears; however, she eyes didn't stop capturing him.
"What's wrong.."
"I finally understood, why I was having such emotions lately. I have finally understood everything." She spoke up making him bewildered.
"What are you talki.."
"I have finally understood, why I was so happy being with you all the time." Her eyes were burning in glee.
He was wanting to say something, yet hold himself.
"I like you! I like you, Kim Sa-Ram ssi!" Her words made him dumbfounded.
He couldn't able to utter a single word further.
"I didn't know from when I did fall for you hardly. Might be it was when we ran under the rain; might be it was when we shared Tteok-bokki at that shop; or might it be when you saved me from being insulted before my ex. I didn't know, yet it happened. I tried to deny it for days. I tried so hard, but failed in the end. Nevertheless to say, because of you, I found solace in rain too!" Her words were coming out, that she didn't want to held inside anymore.
His eyes were in hers, listening every thing that she wanted to say.
"Everything that you said, everything that we did together, every moment that we spent together bloomed in my heart." She was smiling like a baby, having one of the best moments of her life.
He stood still, staring at her.
"I like you so so much. That's what I wanted to say to you. I couldn't hold myself for a long. But you know what... you don't have to return the same to me. I'm happy, blessed and joyous to confess it to you. I was never been so brave in my life, Kim Sa-Ram ssi. I have never been..." She paused for a moment before letting her lips move again.
"I know that we will never meet again after the contract ends. That is why I want to thank you. Thank you for letting me take a breath in the fresh air again. Thank you for teaching me to see things in new light. Thank you for turning my life colourful again. Thank you for...letting me learn to love again. I'm grateful, I'm grateful to you for coming in my life." Her face bagan to shine.
He was staring at her continuously with awestruck eyes.
"This is why we need to stop here. We need to end things here. It's not professional anymore. Before it grows deeper and I can't let you go, we need to stop here." She composed herself before talking.
"What do you.." He was about to say something.
"It was nice meeting you, Kim Sa-Ram ssi. I hope that your book turns out another hit like your other ones. Goodbye!" Giving him her last smile, she turned her body and began to walk faster to the opposite side.
She was feeling so empowering and lighter. It was the best feeling that she had ever felt. Even though he would never return her feelings, she was happy to let it out. Her eyes teared up in joy, sorrow, relief and many more. Her legs felt like feather. She might fly now. Although he thought her as his professional coworker only, she didn't regret loving him. She would never regret loving him. Not all love needed to be completed. Some were better be untold and unfulfilled. She ran faster and faster.
The pink leaves of the cherry blossom trees had started growing on the branches. It was getting ready for the colourful spring, that was coming in no time.
°°°°°°°°°°
June second week it was. Almost 100 days passed since she ended that contract. Yet those moments with him weren't leaving her for a second. Sometimes she enjoyed remembering him as morning bliss; sometimes she just had evening blues, while swiping their selfies together.
Na Ji-Na informed her about his book being released soon. But She didn't expect it to be this early. She was having lunch yesterday. A courier came at her doorstep, sent by her unnie.
"Open it, when I'll tell you to."
She got her call afterwards.
She chuckled remembering last night. Na Ji-Na was really upset after knowing what she had done with her feelings. But didn't say anything further. Therefore, they stopped talking about it.
She looked at her wall clock. It was morning 9. Today was Sunday and she had no plan to spend this day with anyone particular. Her eyes fell on his book again.
'One Day Doom Came Through My Front Door'
The title said the story itself. She didn't open it. To be honest, she was afraid to open it. What if she weren't able to control herself anymore. What if she had broken down. On the other hand, she wanted to witness his creation through her eyes.
"It would be enemies to lovers trope with supernatural fantasy genre."
"Why do you want to write romance leaving your expertise on thriller?"
"Because I want to show someone that I can write this genre too. And also writing any genre is difficult for an author yet not impossible!"
She smiled remembering his statements. She was about to wash her dishes, getting up from her sofa, her phone started ringing. She picked up seeing the call id, Jo Ye-ji.
"Hello Ye-ji!" Her responded.
"Open the group chat right now. I just sent a video. You need to watch it. Hurry up!" She cut the call before she could react.
Listening her friend, she opened the office chatroom. Clicking on the video link, she faced his face again.
"So, Myul Mang penned name author is finally revealing his face to the world. Why so suddenly? Is there any particular reason?" The interviewer questioned him.
"Yes. I fell in love with someone who has encouraged me to embrace myself the way I'm." He replied confidently.
His reply made her dumbstruck and sad at the same time. Finally he found someone. She also felt happy for him amidst of her own sorrow.
"She was the one, who helped me to write this book. I found my creation after meeting her, spending time with her. She is my inspiration." His words made her world stop for a moment.
What did he just say?
"Being a third generation chaebol, it wasn't easy for me to expose my identity to the world. Yet, I'm able to do it beacuse of her. I'm pursuing my passion along with my career just because my 'inspiration'."
"So, will you consider yourself as romance writer from now on or you are planning to write more thrillers in future too? I have heard that all the majn characters names are taken from real life people. Is it true?"
"Yes, you heard it right. They are real life people's name. Specially the main characters, Those are based on me and my 'inspiration'. On the top of that, it's my first and last romantic book. I would never write any romance anymore! I'm dedicating this creation to her, my one and only love, Dong-kyoug." The clip ended here leaving her numb.
What just happened?
Her phone rang again, caller id Na Ji-Na.
"Guess what I found! He is none other than the owner of Kim Industry, the famous Kim Industry of South Korea. Did you watch the video yet? You should. He even used our names in his book! Tak Dong-kyoug, are you listening? Ya! Tak Dong-kyoug-" She cut the call not being able to formulate anything.
Everything was getting messy in her head. He just confessed his feelings for her or there was another Dong-kyoug apart from her. Her phone rang again. She picked it up without looking.
"Hello!" She responded still numbed.
"Come out." The voice that melted her heart everytime spoke up from the other side.
Her breath stopped for a second; eyes turned wider. With much anticipation she ran to open the door holding the phone on her ear. He was standing there, on the front yard of her house, holding his phone near his ear, putting a big smile and showing his dimple.
"Dong-kyoug ah, let's date!" He said through the phone with his brightest smile.
Her eyes teared up with countless emotions; the moment she had never expected to come true, dreamt every single night for these months, was finally here, before her eyes.
She smiled, slowly nodding her head, looking at his sun kissed face.
****************
"So, do you like mountains or Ocean?" He asked looking at her big, brown eyes.
"Ocean. I'm more of an ocean person. And you?" She questioned back.
"Mountains. Do you like cherry blossom?" He enquired further.
"I loved it! Spring is my favourite season." Her answer made him smile.
"Me too. Whatever you choose, mountains or Ocean. We are ending at a same point, cherry blossom. We both love cherry blossom." He concluded it; she let out a giggle.
They were sitting on the ground in front of a wide space. A traditional ritual which would extinct within years, was going on at the down side from their sitting place now. It was his idea to come here for getting inspiration and spending time with her. Though they were in a contract, he loved creating memories with her. She was soft, yet strong. She was simple, yet radiant. She was inspiring and inspiring him too.
"Our contract is going to end in 10 days. Have you thought about the gaps that you were talking about?" Her question made him realise things.
He didn't have much time left in his hands to spend time with her. It steered an unpleasant sensation in his stomach.
"Still thinking. But, I came up with an idea for male protagonist's character traits." He replied; she looked at him from the front view.
"I would keep his hair colour blueish green-grey. A mystic, yet outstanding colour to show." He said.
"Wow! Nice break through. Keep their names meaningful too. You know, these kind of stuffs matter a lot in fantasy romance. Did you decide the names yet?" Her eyes were curious looking for an answer.
"Yep. But not going to reveal now. They were very much fitting each other and would never fade away with time." He stated; she nodded her head with an agreement.
Dong-kyoug and Sa-ram both are immortal in human world.
"Can I ask you something?" He nodded his head giving her permission.
"Why don't you reveal yourself to the world? Your fans want to know you too." Her question made him smug.
"Nothing much just...don't want to let them know that I love writing. It wouldn't suit my personality." He chuckled lowly looking at his front.
"But, you do love it. That's what matters. You know. My grandpa used to say, that never be ashamed of your creative passion. Those are the things which make us alive. Let yourself free, Author nim. I bet, there will always be people who will support you no matter what." Her eyes were smiling.
Those words worked like magic. He felt warmth in his heart. The home he was searching for a long time, he had found finally.
It's you.
"You miss your grandpa a lot. Right?" He murmured.
"A lot. I used to spend my childhood days with him only." Her eyes were on the sky.
"I do too. My grandmother used to adore me a lot. Mostly we used to talk about stars, moon, planets, supernova, nebula and all. She had special interest in astronomy." He replied reviving those memories.
"Don't worry, we will meet them again at the same place, where we have come from." He saw stars in her eyes; a bliss bloomed in him.
A comfortable silence fell between them. Both of them were gazing at the stary sky.
"Do try to put these stuffs in your novel. It brings a different kind of flavour." She said breaking the silence.
He nodded, staring at the gray night sky.
"Never let yourself down." Her words made him looking at her.
"Never blame yourself for such things that you have no control over." He was awestruck and bemused at the same time.
"What do you mean?" He was genuinely bewildered.
"Having Myul Mang as your name to scare of people and at the same time writing a novel with such beautiful storyline on life. A tough out layer, with a soft core. That's you." Her statement shocked him.
Never in his life, anyone had understood him like she did with these 3 months. He was joyous, grateful and blessed.
"I know, you are a good guy. You are always been." Her smile broke the wall that he was putting up for long.
He didn't want to lose her anyhow. Even after their contract would end, he would keep meeting her and be there for her. He promised himself.
°°°°°°°°°°
"I like you! I like you, Kim Sa-Ram ssi!" Her words made him dumbfounded.
He couldn't believe his ears.
Nevertheless to say, because of you, I found solace in rain too!" Her words were coming out flawlessly.
His eyes were in hers, seeing her raw emotions on them.
"Everything that you said, everything that we did together, every moment that we spent together bloomed in my heart." She was smiling eye to eye.
His world was being bright, shining in her light.
"I like you so so much. That's what I wanted to say to you. I couldn't hold myself for a long. But you know what... you don't have to return the same to me. I'm happy, blessed and joyous to confess it to you. I was never been so brave in my life, Kim Sa-Ram ssi. I have never been..." She paused for a moment; his heart was beating faster.
"I know that we will never meet again after the contract ends. That is why I want to thank you. Thank you for letting me take a breath in the fresh air again. Thank you for teaching me to see things in new light. Thank you for turning my life colourful again. Thank you for...letting me learn to love again. I'm grateful, I'm grateful to you for coming in my life." Her face was glowing under these streetlights.
He was staring at her wishful eyes. They were begging to love her in return, yet her lips refused to force him with it. His chest was paining for her sorrow.
'I want you to love me. Can I wish for it too?' Her eyes are screaming it.
"This is why we need to stop here. We need to end things here. It's not professional anymore. Before it grows deeper and I can't let you go, we need to stop here." She composed herself before talking.
"What do you.." He was confused, anticipating something unfair.
"It was nice meeting you, Kim Sa-Ram ssi. I hope that your book turns out another hit like your other ones. Goodbye!" Giving him her last smile, she turned her body and began to walk faster to the opposite side, far away from him
He couldn't react and stood there like a statue, letting her go from him. Her confession cleared things out. The link which he was trying to find for so long to connect his protagonists' heart, he had finally got. The kick which he was searching for had finally came into light. Her wishful eyes finally forced him to change his leads' destiny. He couldn't let it be a sad ending. He couldn't let his female protagonist die. They would live; they would live together, happily ever after.
Our ending will also be happy one, I promise you, Tak Dong-kyoug!

"Come out." He responded holding his phone and breath.
He was imaging this for three months. Completing this book, made Na Ji-Na swear not to disclose anything to Dong-kyoug, giving interview to declare his love and to expose his identity to the world, everything he was planning for this time period. He was ready now. He was ready to be with her forever.
She came out from her house with her big unbelievable, round eyes. His author self couldn't form any new word in front of her former heartfelt confession.
"Dong-kyoug ah, let's date!" That's what he could say with his brightest grin.
That day become the best with her smile and acceptance, under the sunshine.
***************
"What if something happened? I need to see her." He was about to reach the doorstep, another man caught his hand.
"Come on! Don't be dramatic. She would be doing fine. Sit here in relaxation." He forced him to sit down.
"But..."
"No buts!" Cha Joo-ik had known this man in black tuxedo for almost 8 months.
He used to come to him during his romance novel writing to meet his wife, Na Ji-Na. Although he was 4 years older than this impatient fellow, they clicked well with each other. Being the professor in SNU himself, he was utterly impressed by his writing skills. Recently his book caught the attention of a producer and they were thinking of making a film or drama based on it.
Though he was always been overly sensitive about his lover, he still liked his new friend.
"She has eaten something. Right?" Kim Sa-Ram asked his friend who was giving him a known smile.
"Yes. Na Ji-Na is with her. Don't worry about her." He words put a bit solence in him.
Meanwhile, a woman in pastel blue long dress arrived, making both men turning their faces.
"Guys, she is ready. Let's go!" He got up as soon as she finished her sentence; Cha Joo-ik laughed out long with his wife.
The white walls were well decorated; lighting was marvellously placed. He ran on the hallway and reached her room within a few minutes.
"Tak Dong-kyoug! You.." His words died down in his throat witnessing the glory in front of him.
"Sa-Ram ah!" Her smile was radiant, filled with glee for their day.
His eyes were drinking her beauty, in the white gown with white, pink orchids that she was holding. He couldn't take his eyes off from his would be wife. She was more beautiful than he had imagined.
"How am I looking?" Her voice reached with her sound of giggles.
"Mesmerising!" He confessed his soul's words.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
The hall was dark, only the aisle was glowing under the white light, coming from the ceiling. Every eye was on him.
"Let the bride come to the groom." Lee Hyun-kyu's voice come through the microphone.
A woman began to walk. White light was reflecting on her white gown, reaching to his heart. Her long wedding veil was moving in rhythm racing his heartbeat.
"I love you, Kim Sa-Ram. Will you marry me?"
"Ya! Why do you never let me do it first? You confessed your feelings first. Now this proposal. Let me do something at least, Dong-kyoug ah!"
"Haha! You can do it next time Sa-Ram ah!
He let out a low laughter. She was smiling at him.
"Let's get together forever and never separated again!"
She mind began to sing those words that he said on that day, kneeling down before her.
"I want to see the world with you now. Being by your side, for you and for us."
His eyes got moist seeing the heaven sent angel walking towards him.
"I love you, Dong-kyoug ah! I'm head over heels in love with you!"
Her eyes were having every sense of this man, towards whom she was reaching, the artist who painted every bright colour in her sky.
"Why 24th November?"
"Because on that day, we met for the first time, Dong-kyoug ah. I want to held our wedding on that day, giving it a special name."
They found each other within inches, smiling radiantly, losing in one another's eyes.
"May the bride and groom kiss each other now." The voice from the microphone declared; letting them finding their lips gradually.
"WOO!" The hallway filled with applause and joy.
The parents of both were praying for their peaceful lives. Tak Sun-kyun got tears in his eyes along with Na Ji-Na. Cha Joo-ik hold his wife in his embrace gazing at those newlywed.
Their lips kept syncing one another in rhythm; the sparkling sensation, a sense of bliss formed. It was feather soft, yet passionate.
Like a morning bliss with gentle breeze, like a soothing shower after hard summer heat,
like a wishful shooting star at hopeless dark night,
like a warm blanket of winter cold, they found each other's home in one another; shined in each other's grey lives.
They broke their kiss with a soft giggle, internalising the glory through their adoring eyes.
I found home that I was looking for....
His eyes were radiating.
I'm no longer lonely. I have you by my side...
Her eyes were sparkling.
In the end, they finally got their happy ending, that they wished for with true heart.
No matter, how rough the road is,
how far the destination is,
how many mountains need to be crossed,
how many oceans need to swim,
if it's fated, you will find yourself under the cherry blossom trees, interlocking hands, lending heads on each other's shoulder, staring at the stary sky.
The universe will bring you together, let you cross every boundary, connect you through something as ordinary as..
