Straight after they had retrieved the Scythe of Quakes, the five ninja and Senseu Wu found themselves sailing to the Frozen Wasteland on a ship to retrieve the Shurikens of Ice and the Katana of Spirit.

At the very front of the ship was Sensei Wu, who had perched himself on the head of the dragon connected to the ship. He was silently meditating, his long beard following the draft of the wind.

Breaking the cold silence was Jay, who must have thought that it was his job to annoy the team. "I spy something white!"

"You're kidding, right?" Alyssa rolls her eyes next to him, sending the blue ninja a pointed look, "White? Why are we even playing this game when all you can see is white!" She throws her hands up in exasperation.

Cole, who was steering the ship sighed, "Could you two please try to be quiet? This ain't easy." As if proving his words, the ship runs into something, jolting the vessel slightly.

Huffing, Jay turns to Alyssa who grips at the side of the ship in annoyance, "Oh, I spy something broken." He only shrugs in response to her annoyed glare.

"Funny." The ravenette mutters, regaining her footing with a sigh as she walks away from him. She rubs her freezing hands together and blows warm air into them. She stares off into the distance of white and ice, as if waiting for something to happen. That, and she was trying not to get sea sick.

Shivering next to Zane was both Kai , the red ninja rubbing his arms furiously, "If Sensei knows the way to the next Golden Weapons, then why isn't he steering the ship? We've been drifting aimlessly for miles now."

Zane simply turns to look towards Sensei Wu, "Sensei's wisdom is beyond my own." He confesses to the shivering ninja beside him.

Most likely hearing the conversation at the front of the ship, Wu speaks up, "The most powerful move in Spinjitzu can only be accomplished when all five elements are combined."

He turns around suddenly and jumps down onto the deck, surprising Alyssa who turns her attention to her mentor, "Earth!" He does a specific move before jumping into another one, closer towards Zane, "Ice!" Again, he moves towards Kai and, nearly knocking him over, "Fire!" Next was Jay, who squeaks when Wu jumps up in front of him, "Lightning!" Sighing, Alyssa makes her way towards him as he does one final move, "Spirit!"

"You moving around so much is making me sick." The girl groans, wishing her feet were on solid ground.

Jay, noticing that she looked a little woozy, comes over and allows her to lean on him as he asks Sensei Wu about this supposedly powerful move, "Uh," He mutters, "What happens when all of them are combined?"

"The Tornado of Creation." Wu straightens up his posture and glances around at the group, "The power to create something out of nothing."

Kai was already attempting some of the movements as if he could activate the Tornado of Creation already, making Alyssa rub her eyes.

"Stop moving, please." Alyssa groans into Jay's shoulder, trying to ground herself despite her not being the one who was moving around. He simply pats her back, trying to ease her sickness with a grimace.

"No, Kai!" The stern voice of Wu stops Kai in his tracks, "If done incorrectly, it will lead to disastrous consequences." He warns, a firm frown hidden behind his beard.

Scoffing, Kai rolls his eyes. "Disastrous consequences. Right." Not even after one more unpractised move and the ship slams into something hard enough to knock them all onto the floor.

"Uh, wasn't me." Cole raises his hands and backs away from the steering wheel to prove his point, his eyebrows raised.

Looking towards his gloved hands, Kai blinks, "Did I do that?" He whispers just loud enough for the others to hear.

"No, we are here." Wu walks towards the railing of the ship, overseeing the land in front of them.

"About time!" Shakily standing up on her legs, Alyssa wobbles her way off the boat with the others quickly following her.

The large group soon find themselves walking into a cavern of ice, which seemed to be currently overrun with frozen skeletons, who now looked more like statues than anything.

"Looks like someones already been here." Cole mutters, eyeing the skeletons as if they'd break out of their frozen prison within a second to attack them.

Heading towards the centre of the ice cavern, they located the Shurikens of Ice and the Katana of Spirit. The two Golden Weapons floated above them, higher than any of them could reach, even on tiptoes.

After quickly discussing a plan, the ninja made a human tower to lift Zane up towards the weapons but just as he reaches for them in mid-air he was covered in a thick layer of ice, which must have awakened the Ice Dragon at the same time.

They all shout as they all scramble to get their bearings. With Zane frozen with both weapons, the team had no choice but to carry Zane as they fleed the ice cavern.

With the dragon on their tails, they slipped on some ice underneath them and went sprawling down an almost ice slide, coming to a crash landing at a dead end which luckily also breaks Zane free from the ice block.

"Ow." Zane mutters, rubbing a sore spot on his head.

"Can we get out of here now?" Alyssa groans, huddled on the ground, absolutely cold. She felt like she was the one covered in ice rather than Zane.

On their journey to the Floating Ruins to collect the Nunchucks of Lightning, Zane spots The Skulkin following not far behind them. He voices his concerns, which ushers the team on.

Lightning flashes dangerously around them, lighting up the dark clouds above them in blue light. Climbing up the ruin that was attached to the ground by a chain, they once again noticed the skeletons climbing up after them.

"Heh, alright!" Jay grins after spotting the Golden Weapon.

The boy smiles excitedly before reaching for the weapon, a laugh escaping him.

"Uh, Jay?" Kai nervously speaks up, pulling at the boys sleeve to gain his attention. "I think we need to leave!" He shouts, making the rest of the group look up to see the Lightning Dragon towering above them with its wings spread wide open.

"Jump!" Someone shrieks and no one hesitates to follow their orders. With the wind blowing harshly against their faces, each of the ninja activate their gliders, easing their drop as they glided towards safety.

That night, the five ninja celebrate around a campfire while their Sensei mediates silently. Jay and Kai dance around the flickering flames of the fire while Cole plays the bongos, their laughter bouncing off the trees. Alyssa sits close to the fire, poking at it with a stick with a small smile.

Laughing breathily, Kai turns around to stare at Wu with a roll of his eyes, "Come on, Sensei. Join us!"

"There is still one weapon left!" Sensei Wu snaps back, opening his eyes to frown at them, "We must get our sleep!"

Jay lets out a whine, almost tripping over Kai's feet as he walks closer towards the old man. "Sensei, look. You gotta admit, we're kicking their boney butts."

"Get up here," Kai motions for Sensei to rise up from his meditating position, "Show us some moves!"

Sighing thoughtfully, Wu slowly stands up, "I guess I could. Now this move is very special." He teases with a small grin.

"But if done incorrectly, will it lead to disastrous consequences?" Zane questions, tilting his head ever so slightly. This suddenly rouses a laugh from the others, most likely thinking that he was telling a joke for once.

"Zane, is that a joke? A sense of humour, you found it!" Kai chuckles, slapping the back of the white ninja who only stares back at him in confusion.

The rest of the night goes off without a hitch, everyone finally enjoying themselves after such a difficult journey, which hadn't even come to an end yet. When the energy became low and their eyes began to feel heavy, one by one they found themselves falling asleep until everyone was knocked out for the night.

Sometime throughout the night, a soft whisper reaches the ear of Kai, who stirs around at the sound. "Kai....Kai..."

Finally opening his eyes to find out where the noise was coming from, the voice begins to sound a lot like...

"Nya?" Kai shoots up like a rocket, his head swivelling around aimlessly, trying his best to spot his kidnapped sister. When his eyes land on Nya, he springs up from the floor, "Nya!"

"I have to go..." The girl whispers to him before turning around and sprinting off away from him.

"Nya! Wait up!" Somehow not waking up the others, Kai chases after his sister, hitting away low tree branches with a groan, "Slow down! Why are you running so fast?!" He calls out after her. For just a second he loses sight of her, "Nya?! Where are you?" He yells out, breathing out sharply.

Another whisper from Nya has his head snapping in that direction, which happened to be a Fire Temple. From the distance, he watches his sister enter the temple before running after her again with a shout of her name.

Entering the Fire Temple, Kai gazes around in search of Nya, when he spots her standing in front of the Sword of Fire. "Nya!" He laughs in relief, slowly walking towards her.

"Don't worry."

Kai pauses in his steps, watching with wide eyes as his sisters form begins to morph into the shadow of Lord Garmadon, who chuckles loudly at his expression. "I'm right here, brother."

Snarling, Kai tightens his hands into fists at his sides, "Garmadon." He mutters, glaring in the Dark Lords direction.

"Forgot something?" Lord Garmadon taunts, his shadow growing larger until he took up most of the room in the temple.

Kai points accusingly at the shadow, a firm frown on his lips, "You can't hurt me here, you're banished! Trapped in the Underworld!"

"And that is why you are going to remove the Sword of Fire for me." Garmadon's deep voice rattles the Temple of Fire, but it doesn't deter Kai from his goal. Getting his sister and the sword.

"I don't think so!" Kai fires back, but his determination instantly vanishes when Garmadon disappears to reveal Nya chained above the lava lake in front of him with a laugh, "Are you sure about that?"

"Nya!"

"Kai" Nya calls desperately for her brother, feet kicking in midair, eyes frazzled and panicked.

"If you don't remove the sword, how else will you cut the chains to save your precious little sister?" Garmadon mocks, knowing that he was the one with the winning hand.

Nya groans and wiggles around in the chains, "You know it's a trap! I can—free my—self!" She struggles to free any part of her body before going limp with a groan, "Okay, that's tight."

As if proving that he wasn't messing around, the chain holding Nya drops closer towards the bubbling lava, causing the girl to let out a startled scream. "Nya!"

"Tick tock. Tick tock." Garmadon tuts, his chuckles getting louder.

Scowling, Kai leaps into the air and yanks the Sword of Fire free from the stone it was pierced through, performing Spinjitzu to make his way quickly over to his sister who was hanging dangerously low to the lava. "Ninja, go!"

Slicing the chain holding Nya captive, he catches her before she could fall into the red hot lava and landed safely on the other side of the lake. Ignoring Garmadons evil cackling, Kai gently sets his sister onto her feet, "Stay close."

"Trust me," Nya swallows fearfully, her hands shaking, "I'm not going anywhere."

Frowning, Kai turns towards Garmadon, the sword pointed towards the shadow, "You can't hurt us! You're only a shadow!"

"Even shadows have their uses." Garmadon snarls back when a shadow version of Kai appeared with deep blood red eyes in front of both Kai and Nya.

"Kai, look out!" Nya was quick to alert her brother when the shadow Kai brings down its sword, only to clash it against Kai's golden one.

Grunting, Kai doesn't bother looking back at Nya as he pushes against the shadow. "Stay back, Nya!"

"Stay close, stay back. Make up your mind!" The girl shouts, scurrying off to hide behind a large boulder nearby. She was defenceless with no way to help her brother.

With a loud yell, Kai slashes his sword at his shadow, but nothing happens. Before he could even react, the shadow roughly kicks Kai, who goes flying backwards into the boulder Nya was hiding behind.

"Hey, that's not fair!" Nya calls out, her eyes wide as she worriedly watches her brother weakly get up from the stone floor.

Laughing, Garmadon creates even more shadow Kai's, "Oh, am I being too hard?"

Kai wobbles against the boulder behind him, a glare directed back at his shadow counterparts. He goes to slice through the shadows but only ends up going through them, having done no damage at all. One of the shadows lands a nasty punch on his jaw, knocking him back and making him drop the Golden Weapon.

The closest shadow leans down and picks up the sword wordlessly, when Wu appears out of nowhere and begins to attack the shadows with his own using the light of the lava. His shadow easily takes down most of the shadow Kai's and when the sword was dropped, he quickly left his little island rock to jump over towards it and pick the weapon up.

The sound of Garmadon growling brings Wu's attention to the shadow, "Brother. I see you protect one, but what about the other four?"

"They are safe! Far from your grasp, Garmadon!" Wu shouts back as Nya and Kai hastily make their way over to join him.

"I wouldn't be so confident." There was something in Garmadon's voice that none of the three liked, it sent panic through all of them.

They had good reason to be worried, as back in the Forest of Tranquility, Cole wakes up in front of a Skulkin Warrior. He quickly tries to reach for his scythe but it was quickly taken by Kruncha while Nuckal and two more skeletons pin the others to the ground. Each of their Golden Weapons being wielded by Samukai.

"I believe these belong to Garmadon now." He chuckles, his army raising their own weapons and arms into the air with a victory cheer.

"I hate skeletons." Alyssa mutters, glaring up at the army around her, clenching her teeth.

With the others, Wu must have realised that things weren't going his way and quickly turns to the other two, "My brother must not unite the five weapons. We must keep them apart!"

Knowing that if they didn't act fast, everything they had tried so hard to achieve would come falling down to their feet. Wu, Nya and Kai began to sprint, though they didn't get far when Lord Garmadon begins to shout, "Awaken, guardian of the deep! They're stealing the sword! You must not let them escape!"

With those words, a red and orange dragon began to rise out of the lava, which dripped down its snout. Spotting the thieves, it spread its wings and let out a wicked roar which makes Nya and Kai shout in shock.

Wu jumps on top of the Fire Dragon's head as it reaches out of the lava for them. It roars angrily, making Nya scream loudly. It seals the trio inside the temple so that they would not escape by causing large rocks to fall from the ceiling and block their only exit.

"There's no way out! He's taken away all our options!" Kai screams, panic and fear clear in his voice.

"All but one." Sensei Wu sighs, jumping onto a rock that was suspended on the lava, leaving the other two to stare at him in shock.

"Sensei, what are you doing?!" Kai shouted, though he was already starting to understand the decision his mentor had just decided. But it was too late. Wu cuts at the stone with the sword, setting the piece he stood on free to float down the lava lake.

"No, you fool!" The angered scream of Garmadon shook the temple, but he was useless to do anything to stop the old man.

With the piece of rock floating towards a lava fall, Wu looks towards Kai and Nya with his chin held high, "If he is to bring the other weapons here, then I will take the Sword of Fire to the Underworld. It is my sacrifice to pay." He solemnly speaks, taking a comfortable seat on the rock.

Kai furiously shakes his head, not accepting this sacrifice, "No! It's mine! I shouldn't have come on my own! You don't have to do this! There has to be another way!" He begs, pleading eyes stinging with unshed tears.

Wu simply smiles at him, bringing out his spare teacup from his pocket and pouring himself a final drink. He brings the cup up to his lips, but speaks before taking a sip, "Tell Alyssa that I am sorry." It was all he said before the rock slipped over the lava fall, taking the Sensei with it.

"No!" The siblings scream out, Kai reaching out as if he could somehow grab the old mans hand. But he was already gone.

"Then I will see you there, brother!" Garmadon's shadow begins to disappear, leaving the Smith siblings in the Temple by themselves for the moment.

Kai groans and buries his head into his hands, his voice muffled as he speaks. "This is my fault! Sensei won't be able to hold up for long."

"Forget about Sensei. What about us."

Kai turns around at his sisters words to see the Fire Dragon behind them, another loud roar leaving its throat.

While Nya and Kai are forced to deal with the dragon themselves, the others in the forest are found to be tied and hung up on a tree by the Skulkin. The army were about to head towards the Fire Temple when Garmadon makes an appearance, his Shadow growling at Samukai. "My brother has taken the Sword of Fire to the Underworld. Hurry! Return home and unite the weapons before it's too late!"

"Change of plans. To the Underworld!" Samukai announces when Garmadon's shadow disappears, the Skulkins giving a cheer before departing to the Underworld, leaving the ninja hanging.

"Well, isn't this fun." Alyssa sarcastically comments, wincing when someones elbow jabs itself into her ribs.

Cole groans out, "Now what do we do?"

"Now," Jay grins, revealing a sword that he had somehow stolen from Nuckal without the skeleton noticing, "We get outta here."

"Uh, Jay. Before you do that, you might wanna—" Cole's words are cut off as Jay cuts the rope holding them up, sending the group to the hard ground with a loud groan leaving them all, "Warn us..." He finishes, momentarily accepting the floor as his new home.

"At least we're free now, we'll just forget about the bruises, for Jay's sake." Alyssa glares towards the blue ninja, who stands with the others shakily and sends her a sheepish grin.

Zane shakes his head, "We do not have time to argue, let's go!" With his orders, the team pursue after the Skulkin Army, using the trees for their advantage.

Samukai, who sits at the front of the Skull Truck, glares at the speed meter in front of him, "Faster! We need to go faster to cross over to the Underworld!"

Some of the vehicles reach the needed speed and begin to cross over to the Underworld, while the ones that don't are silently and unknowingly taken over by the ninja. "More speed! We'll never get home at this rate!" Samukai growls out, hitting the meter with the hilt of his sword when the truck begins to lose acceleration. "What's wrong with this thing?"

Pulling the chain off the vehicle was Cole and Alyssa, who nod towards each other silently. Zane jumps onto the truck, quickly knocking out two of the skeleton warriors. Jay jumps on another vehicle and take out the two skeleton warriors there.

Spotting the ninja, Samukai points towards them and loudly declares, "Get them!"

"Ninja, go!" Jay used his Spinjitzu to jump over incoming attacks from the three skeletons attacking them before knocking them off the side of the truck. He then attempts to punch the padlock that secures the Golden Weapons, but it doesn't budge and he instead gets nothing put a painful fist. Hissing, Jay brings his hand up to his chest, cradling it. "Okay, that's why they make keys."

Cole and Alyssa jump up onto the back of the truck to spot Kruncha and Nuckal, Alyssa kicking off one of them easily while Cole tries to knock off the other with his scythe, but it doesn't go according to plan and instead he accidentally hits Jay in the throat. At least he also knocked the skeleton off in the process.

"Oh, that looked like it hurt." Alyssa winces, reaching up to grab her own throat as if she was the one who was struck.

"Jay!" Cole panics, staring at his friend with wide eyes, "Sorry! I didn't see you there!" He apologises. Jay tries to speak back but his words come out garbled and harsh.

Approaching the driver of the Skull Truck was Zane, who decides to say hello. "Greetings." His monotone voice grabs the attention of Samukai, who knocks Zane over in attempt to get him off the truck, but the white ninja instead manages to hang on.

At the same time, Samukai knocks off the driver of the truck and ends up driving the vehicle himself. Driving at full speed, it was enough to make the group of ninja fall off just as the skeleton general crosses over to the Underworld, without them on it.

"No!" Slamming a fist into the dirt, Alyssa clenches her teeth to keep herself from screaming profanities.

"We — didn't stop — them." Jay's scratchy voices groans out, a hand still rubbing his sore and tender throat as he stares after the skeleton vehicle.

Cole frowns, crossing his arms with a defeated sigh, "You don't need to say it. I know. We've lost." He mutters, a firm frown on his lips. The group of them letting silence take over the atmosphere. Anger, regret and sadness wash over them all as they all accept their defeat with heavy hearts.
