Diantha grabs a Heal Ball which contains her very last Pokemon. She took a deep breath before gazing and smiling upon it. She then moves the ball close to her chest, where her heart is. The Kalos Champion knows this is her last chance for victory in this battle. For within that Heal Ball, it's a Pokemon that she shares a deep connection with.

Ash, witnessing this happen across from him, gets into a serious battle stance as he waits for the champion to reveal her final Pokemon.

"My last hope," Diantha said, before starting to throw the Pokeball up into the air. "Let's show the fans a spectacular battle!"

A light came out of the Pokeball, and when it faded away, a bipedal, humanoid Pokémon whose body resembles a flowing gown was revealed to be the Kalos Champion's final Pokemon. Most of its body is white, but its hair, arms, and the underside of its gown are green. Its hair curls over its face and down the sides of its head. Behind its red eyes are short spikes, resembling a masquerade mask. It has long arms with three fingers on each hand and slender white legs. A red, fin-like horn extends from its chest, and a shorter, more rounded horn extends from the back. A band of green on its chest extends to the center of the front horn and connects to its sleeve-like arms. It was also wearing a necklace, similar to its trainer, that contains a sparkling stone in it.

"Gardevoir..." Ash responded to the appearance of Diantha's strongest Pokemon. He quickly grabs Dragonite's Pokeball and then turns to the battle-ready Dragon Pokemon.

"Dragonite, return for now!" Ash called out to it, which made the Dragon Pokemon's serious face turn to a sad one. The Dragon Pokemon tried pleading its trainer to allow it to continue battling, but Ash made up his mind.

"Listen, Dragonite," Ash begins to explain his Dragon Pokemon. "Gardevoir is a Psychic and Fairy type, which puts you at an extreme disadvantage. Trust me, Dragonite."

Dragonite was a bit disappointed to not be continuing battling, but once Ash explained his reasoning to it, the Dragon Pokemon happily agreed with its trainer, as a beam of red light hits it and returns the Dragon Pokemon to its Pokeball. Ash smiles upon it, before attaching it to his belt and then grabbing another Pokeball.

"You made the smart choice there, Master," Lucario commanded on Ash's decision to recall Dragonite.

"Yeah," Ash responded, as he looked at the Embrace Pokemon across from him with a serious expression. "For now, we need to be extra careful with Gardevoir."

Lucario and Pikachu both nodded in agreement with their trainer. Ash then threw his Pokeball up into the air. Once the light from the Pokeball faded away, it revealed his Charizard, who let out a mighty roar to the sound of the cheering audience in the stadium. Charizard then looks at his opponent and gets into a battle stance.

"Charizard, once again huh?" Diantha said while her hand was on her necklace, which had a stone in it. "I see you are being cautious against my final Pokemon."

"Yeah," Ash responded to the Kalos Champion. "It's going to take everything we got to defeat your Gardevoir! We won't give up until the very end!"

"I'm sure you are aware of what my Gardevoir can do, right?" She said as she pointed out the stone in her necklace to her challenger.

Ash nodded to the champion's statement as he is quite aware of the special bond that Diantha shares with her Gardevoir.

"Good, because I will use it right now!" Diantha stated as she taps the stone on her necklace.

By tapping the stone, it activates the stone that's in Gardevoir 's necklace. Suddenly, beams of lights are coming out of both their necklaces and then meeting with each other in between the trainer and her Pokemon. With a bright light, Gardevoir's appearance starts transforming. Once the light faded away, Gardevoir looked completely different now. It turned almost completely white; only its hair remains green. Its gown becomes longer and wider, resembling a bridal gown. The forearms are slightly thicker with a pointed extension above the elbow. Its facial spikes are larger and now curl upwards. In contrast, its hair is now shorter and more tightly curled. There are now two horns in the center of its chest, extending to either side. These horns are said to be a physical manifestation of this Pokémon's heart, and it can use tremendous psychic power now that it is open.

Once Ash took a good look at the sudden transformation of Diantha's Gardevoir, he grins out of excited anticipation of battling against Gardevoir 's strongest form right from the gecko. His thoughts were accelerating at great speeds. You finally showed up. Mega Gardevoir! I've faced you before, but this time, things will be different.

"Look! Mommy! Look!" Ashley shouted to get her mother's attention. "Diantha's Pokemon just evolved!"

"Umm...sweetie," Angela started to explain to her daughter what just happened. "It didn't exactly evolve. That transformation you just saw was Mega Evolution."

"Mega Evolve? What's that?" A confused Ashley questioned her mother, who then turned to look at her husband, who sat next to her.

"Hey, hon," Angela said which got Trevor's attention. "Could you explain Mega Evolution to Ashely, please?"

"Sure," Trevor answered his wife, who smiles at him. "I can explain it."

Ashley turned herself around to make eye contact with her father as he started explaining what Mega Evolution is to her.

"Now then, Mega Evolution is a temporary transformation that certain Pokemon can undergo during battle. When a Pokemon mega evolves, its type and ability may change. Also, their stats will increase dramatically which provides them an edge over their opponent, unless they can mega evolve too." Trevor explained to his daughter about Mega Evolution.

"That's cool. So, how do you mega evolve?" Ashley asked another question to her father.

"To mega evolve, you will need to first have a Key Stone, then the Pokemon that you want to mega evolve must be holding a Mega Stone, and most importantly, there must be a strong bond between trainer and Pokemon for Mega Evolution to occur," Trevor explained the requirements, as he's pointing at Diantha and her Mega Gardevoir, before continuing to explain. "You see, the Mega Stone that Gardevoir wears is called a Gardevoirite. It needs that for it to mega evolve in battle."

"Wow. Mega Evolution sounds pretty awesome!" Ashley stated before she asked Trevor another question. "Do you have one of those Key Stones?"

"Yes, I do," Trevor said as he shows his daughter his Mega Ring with a Key Stone in it.

"Cool!" Ashley said as she is amazed that her father has a Key Stone. "Do you have any Pokemon that can do Mega Evolution?"

"Well, yes," Trevor answered. "Charizard and Gregor can both mega evolve."

"And do you have their Mega Stones?" Ashley questioned her father with pure excitement in her voice.

"I do have a Charizardite Y for Charizard," Trevor responded, as he gets out his Mewtwo's Pokeball and looks at it for a moment, before resuming his answer to Ashley. "As for Mewtwo, I haven't been able to locate a Mewtwonite. It's one of the rarest Mega Stones out there. I hope to find one someday."

"Well, I hope you do, Daddy!" Ashley exclaimed. "I wanna see Gregor mega evolve!"

Trevor chuckles at his daughter's enthusiasm before the two refocused their attention back to watching Ash's match against Diantha and her Mega Gardevoir. As for Trevor, his thoughts were still on finding a Mewtwonite while he looked down at Gregor's Pokeball.

Someday, I will find that Mewtwonite for you, Gregor, I promise.

Once the referee gave the two trainers the signal to start battling, Diantha extended her hand out to Ash.

"You will have the first move, Ash," Diantha said, allowing Ash to call out the first attack.

"Alright, Charizard, use Flamethrower!" Ash shouted as his loyal Flame Pokemon releases a red-orange stream of fire from its mouth at the Embrace Pokemon.

Although Diantha did not give the command to her Pokemon to dodge the incoming fire type attack through her voice, her eye contact with Gardevoir told the Embrace Pokemon everything. As a result, Gardevoir quickly vanishes and then reappears behind Charizard. It had dodged the Flamethrower attack, which surprised the Flame Pokemon quite a bit.

"Okay then, use Shadow Claw!" Ash yelled out another attack command to his Pokemon.

One of Charizard's claws becomes surrounded by a black aura with a purple outline. The aura then takes the form of a claw and Charizard flies towards the Embrace Pokemon, hoping to slash it. However, once Diantha nodded to her Pokemon, Gardevoir quickly processed the information from their eye contact and evaded the Flame Pokemon's Shadow Claw attack. It then reappears behind Charizard again. Ash groans in frustration before calling out his next attack.

"Let's see how you deal with this! Charizard! Spin while using Steel Wing!" Ash orders the Flame Pokemon, as it starts spinning endlessly while its wings glow white, as it charges towards the Embrace Pokemon.

This time, Diantha called out a move.

"Alright, use Psychic." She calmly said to her Pokemon.

Gardevoir's eyes glow light blue, and Charizard's body suddenly becomes surrounded by light blue. This prevented Charizard from attacking the psychic and fairy Pokemon as it controls the Flame Pokemon's whole body. Surprised by this turn of event, Ash immediately thought of something that Charizard could still do.

"Flamethrower! Now!" Ash shouted, hoping Charizard will be able to use that attack.

Luckily, Charizard was able to let out a red-orange stream of fire from its mouth at the Embrace Pokemon, which made contact with it. As Gardevoir took damage from the Flamethrower, the light blue surrounding the Flame Pokemon disappeared and Charizard was now free to move around on its own free will. Charizard flew back and landed in front of Ash, who was pleased with the results. Gardevoir was able to quickly recover from the blow as the Kalos Champion closed her eyes and smiled confidently.

"I see," Diantha said with a chuckle. "You realized that we couldn't control what could come out of Charizard's mouth. Nice move."

"Thank you," Ash said before giving Charizard another attack command. "Charizard, let's try this again! Spin while using Steel Wing!"

Once again, Charizard spins endlessly while its wings glow white as it goes for another attempt to deal with a super-effective blow to the Mega-Evolved Pokemon.

Predictable. Diantha thought before giving Mega Gardevoir an attack command. "Psychic, again!"

The Embrace Pokemon's eyes glow light blue, and Charizard's body suddenly becomes surrounded by light blue, stopping the attack from hitting Gardevoir. But it did not seem to bother the Flame Pokemon this time.

"Now, use Flamethrower!" Ash commands as Charizard prepares to let out another stream of fire at the Embrace Pokemon, who is holding Charizard with its psychic powers.

However, the Mega Evolved Pokemon was prepared to dodge it, while still having a hold on Charizard. Ash gasped out of shock to see Gardevoir dodging their attack.

"We won't fall for the same move, twice! Thunderbolt go!" Diantha stated as she gave Gardevoir an attack order.

While still having a hold on Charizard, Gardevoir releases a powerful bolt of yellow electricity from its body at the defenseless Flame Pokemon, who cries out in pain from the electric type attack.

"Next, use Shadow Ball," Diantha said, without giving Charizard a moment to recover.

Mega Gardevoir forms a barrage of balls of black and purple energy with black static around it. It then fires the ball towards Charizard, who still can't move due to its body being controlled by Gardevoir. Listening to his Pokemon's cries of pain, a frustrated Ash can only stand there, feeling helpless to save his Pokemon from this situation. Charizard was breathing heavily as those attacks took its toll on the trapped Flame Pokemon.

"Checkmate!" Diantha said, snapping her fingers before giving her Gardevoir one last command. "Now, throw Charizard to the ground with Psychic!"

Following orders, the Mega-Evolved Pokemon lifts its hands in the air, which also lifts a tired Charizard. Ash grunts in frustration as there was no tactic he could employ to prevent Charizard from getting knocked out. His Pokemon was completely exhausted. Once the Flame Pokemon was high enough, Gardevoir waved its hands downward in a swift movement. The powerless Charizard crashed down onto the battlefield in a split second. When the dust clouds, from the landing, cleared, it revealed an unconscious Flame Pokemon. Ash sighs in disappointment as he calls back his fallen Pokemon to its Pokeball.

"Thank you, old friend," Ash said to Charizard's Pokeball. "Now, take a nice long rest."

After Ash clipped the Pokeball back onto his belt, he then turns to look at a battle-ready Pikachu, with sparks flying off the Mouse Pokemon's cheeks. Ash nodded to his starter Pokemon as he knows which Pokemon to use next.

"Alright, Pikachu, I choose you!" Ash exclaimed as the Mouse Pokemon rushed out onto the battlefield to face off against Mega Gardevoir.

"Pika!" Pikachu yelled out as sparks flew off his cheeks.

"So, Pikachu is next," Diantha said while remembering the first battle she had with Ash. "It seems you want to finish that battle we had when you first met me. Right?"

"It would seem that way," Ash answered, agreeing with the Kalos Champion, while also remembering the events of that day when he first met Diantha.

When Ash first met Diantha, he challenged her to a battle, for which she accepted after he, Serena, Bonnie, and Clemont shared a piece of chocolate cake with her. The battle had Pikachu against Gardevoir. Although Pikachu did its best, the Mouse Pokemon couldn't land a single attack on her Pokemon. Sadly, the battle was interrupted when Team Rocket tried to steal Diantha's Gardevoir. Fortunately, they were able to retrieve Gardevoir. However, they couldn't finish their battle, as Diantha had to go off and shoot a movie. That's when Diantha promised Ash that she'll have another battle with him if he wins the Kalos League.

Ash was snapped back to present-day reality when the referee asked if both trainers were ready. Both Ash and Diantha nodded as the referee signals for the battle to resume, with the Kalos Champion calling out the first attack

"Shadow Ball! Go!" Diantha called out.

Mega Gardevoir forms a ball of black and purple energy with black static around it. It then fires the ball at the Mouse Pokemon.

"Use Iron Tail!" Ash countered.

Pikachu jumps, as its tail starts glowing white, and then swings its tail to cut the Shadow Ball in half. Pikachu lands softly on the ground and awaits for its trainer to give it another command.

"Electroweb, but fire it in front of you!" Ash shouted.

Listening to its trainer's orders, Pikachu forms an orange-yellow orb of electricity on its tail. It then flings the orb in front of it, which then transforms into a circular yellow electrical net.

Through eye contact with Diantha, Gardevoir dodges the net with a swift movement. The net lands on a wall behind the Embrace Pokemon. Ash grins as he calls out another attack.

"Now! Quick Attack, let's go!" Ash yells out as Pikachu starts running towards Gardevoir, while a light blue outline is surrounding the Mouse Pokemon's body.

Diantha nods to her Pokemon who processes the information and swiftly evades the attack. However, to the shock of both Diantha and Gardevoir, Pikachu was still running. The Champion notices that the Mouse Pokemon was charging towards the electric net it had created earlier. Pikachu reaches the net, just as Ash calls out his next attack.

"Let her rip! Use Iron Tail!" Ash exclaimed.

Pikachu's tail glows white just as it bounces off the electric net. Using the added momentum, Pikachu lands a direct Iron Tail on Mega Gardevoir, who screams out in pain from the super-effective attack. This put a stunning look on Diantha's face before it quickly changed to amazement.

"I'm quite impressed with that combo, Ash," Diantha stated, before continuing. "You caught us off guard with that one."

Ash smirks at the Kalos Champion's remark, before noticing Gardevoir had quickly recovered from the blow dealt by the direct Iron Tail attack.

"However," Diantha said, as her Pokemon prepares to launch another attack on her opponent. "You're going to have to do better than that! Gardevoir, use Psychic!"

Gardevoir's eyes glow light blue, and Pikachu's body was covered in a light blue outline. It was then slowly lifted in the air. Then suddenly, the Embrace Pokemon extends her hands outward in swift movement which sends the Mouse Pokemon flying towards a wall. At the moment Pikachu crashed into the wall, Gardevoir suddenly appeared in front of it. An exhausted Pikachu stares at his opponent with fearful eyes, not knowing what it's going to do now.

'Checkmate!" Diantha said, snapping her fingers before calling out her next attack. "Use Shadow Ball!"

Mega Gardevoir forms a barrage of balls of black and purple energy with black static around it. It then fires them directly at the Mouse Pokemon who is extremely close to the Embrace Pokemon.

"Pika!" Pikachu cries out in intense pain from getting hit at close-range by the powerful Shadow Ball.

"Pikachu! No!" Ash exclaimed with fear ringing from his voice.

Once the smoke cleared, it revealed a knocked out Pikachu. Ash rushes over to his fallen Pokemon, picks Pikachu up, and holds him in his gentle arms, as they walk back to where Lucario was standing. The Aura Pokemon was saddened over Pikachu's defeat at the hands of Mega Gardevoir. His thoughts were racing about the overwhelming strength of Mega Gardevoir.

Can we defeat this extremely powerful foe? Lucario thought to himself, just as Ash reached him with an exhausted Pikachu in his arms.

"Pi..pika..." The Mouse Pokemon said to his trainer, as he puts him down next to Lucario.

"Pikachu, you were amazing out there," Ash told his faithful partner as he pats Pikachu's head, which resulted in a pleasing sound of affection from the Mouse Pokemon. "I'm so proud of you and the hard battling you put on display here today, buddy."

"Pika." The Mouse Pokemon said while smiling at his trainer, as he gets up from the ground.

"Now, you take a nice long rest, buddy, and I promise you," Ash tells Pikachu, just as he grabs another Pokeball from his belt. "We will win this battle!"

"Pika!" Pikachu responded with confidence in his voice, before getting into a comfortable position to rest in.

Ash, with the Pokeball containing his next Pokemon in his hands, walks back to Lucario, and then, stares at Diantha and Mega Gardevoir with burning determination and seriousness in his eyes. Diantha gives a small smile at this sight.

"Seems like you're ready," Diantha responded to Ash's determination to win. "Let's see what else you got!"

"Oh you will, Diantha, you will," Ash stated, as he looked down at his Pokeball with a big smile on his face.

They may have Mega Evolution, but we have something more powerful than they could ever imagine. The strength of our bonds! He thought as he threw the Pokeball up in the air.

"Greninja, I choose you!" Ash exclaimed, as the Ninja Pokemon came out of the Pokeball and got into a battle stance.

The sight of Ash's Greninja made Diantha worried a bit. She had once battled against Ash's Greninja. Its power was so overwhelming that she had to use Mega Evolution to combat it. Ash could have defeated Mega Gardevoir back then, but he collapsed due to overexerting himself and Greninja. But still, the two of them together were quite powerful. She knows that she'll have to be careful when battling against Greninja.

"Greninja, huh?" Diantha said before a small smile appeared on her face. "I see, now. So, Ash, are you about to do what I think you're doing to do right now?"

"To combat against your powerful bond, Diantha," Ash responded to the Champion's question. "We'll battle it using our strong bond as well!"

Greninja looked back at his trainer and the two of us nodded together. They're about to show Diantha how strong their bond is right now.

"Now," Ash stated as he raises his hand, with Greninja doing the same. "Greninja, together!"

All of a sudden, a water veil appears and it surrounds Greninja. While inside the veil, the Ninja Pokemon's appearance begins to transform into a different form. A form that bears a resemblance to Ash. Greninja's skin turns to a lighter shade of blue, while its face gains red stripes and its cheeks and side fins turn black, changing shape to resemble Ash's hair. And finally, the water veil moves from around its body to its back and forms an "X" shape, which resembles wings. The wings then form into a small sphere shape of water in the middle of its back with a light blue ring in the middle of it and it then grows in size until it forms into a giant shuriken made of water.

When the transformation finished, the audience erupted to a thunderous cheer at the sight of Ash-Greninja. Diantha takes a step back a bit, while still having a serious expression on her, but also giving a small smile as she's happy to be battling against Greninja's unique form once again. So you finally appear. Ash-Greninja! Now, let's see how Ash's bond with Greninja can deal with my bond with Gardevoir!

Everyone in the suite gazed upon Greninja's transformation and appearance with amazement and excitement.

"It's been so long since I have last seen Ash-Greninja in battle," Trevor said as he's happy to witness Ash-Greninja in battle once again. "This could pretty much decide the battle here. Am I right, guys?"

Everyone nodded in agreement with Trevor's statement.

"It sure could," Clemont answered with a great deal of confidence in his voice.

"Yeah! Ash-Greninja can win the whole thing for Ash! It's really powerful!" Bonnie said with pure excitement ringing from her voice.

"I'm sure without a doubt that Ash's Greninja can stand up against Mega Gardevoir," Serena stated before the tone of her voice changed from a confident mood to a worrying one. "But..."

Gary walked over to Serena. He put his hand on the back of her chair, then got to her eye level, and the young researcher could notice her eyes were expressing concern over Ash for some reason.

"Is something wrong, Serena?" Gary asked Ash's girlfriend.

"It's just that whenever Greninja is in that form and if it takes damage, then Ash will feel its pain too," Serena explained her worries to Gary, who tries to think of words to say to comfort the concerned Kalos Queen.

"Listen, Serena," Gary starts explaining to Serena. "If I know Ash, I bet you he'll not let any of that pain bother him one bit. You know why?"

"Why?" asked Serena.

"It's because he has you," Gary answered, which made the Kalos Queen blushed badly.

"M-M-Me?!" Serena responded while stuttering her words.

"Yes," Gary answered before explaining to the stunned performer. "As long as you're by his side and cheer him on, he'll endure any pain no matter what. When he sees you smile, it heals his heart and eliminates any sort of pain he's experiencing at that moment. Do you understand what I am saying here, Serena? Your love is his power, and his love is your power as well."

After taking in all that Gary has just said to her, any worries she may have had were all gone. Her worrying frown is quickly turned to a cheerful smile. With renowned confidence, Serena gets up from her seat and starts cheering for Ash and Greninja to win with a voice full of care, encouragement, and hope that Ash will hear from below. And sure enough, Ash took a look at the suite, and immediately, his eyes noticed his blue-eyes angel cheering him on with all of her heart. Ash smiles brightly upon this sight. He then gives Serena a thumb's up to let her know that he received all of her cheers. Knowing that Ash heard her cheers, a wave of relaxation now flows through her heart. She then turns to look at the smiling researcher.

"Thanks, Gary. I needed that." Serena said to him, before resuming her cheers to her boyfriend battling below.

"No problem, Serena," Gary said as he sat back down in his seat to continue to watch the match. "No problem at all."

His eyes were focused on Ash as his thoughts were racing about his childhood rival.

You can do this, Ash. You can win this because all your friends believe in you. Gary then turns to look at a cheering Serena, before going back to his thoughts. She believes in you.

Greninja and Gardevoir, both in their most powerful forms, firmly stood their ground as they stared at each other with burning anticipation and determination in their eyes. Both share a powerful bond with each of their trainers which is manifested through their unique transformations. Each wanting their trainer to win this battle, but only one could win.

Once the referee signaled the battle to start, both Ash and Diantha called out their attacks simultaneously.

"Shadow Ball!"

"Water Shuriken!"

Gardevoir forms a barrage of balls of black and purple energy with black static around it, and then fires them at the Ninja Pokemon, while Greninja grabs the shuriken on its back and throws it at the incoming ghost type attack. The two attacks collided, resulting in an explosion to happen at the center of the collision. When the smoke cleared, Diantha noticed that Greninja was nowhere to be found. This confused both the Kalos Champion and her Pokemon.

Where did Greninja go? The Kalos Champion thought before she looked up and saw the Ninja Pokemon right above them. What?

"Night Slash! Let's go!" Ash shouted as Greninja creates two purple energy swords in the palm of one of its hands and then grabs them with both hands. It then slashes the shocked Embrace Pokemon with both of them.

This attack pushed the Mega-Evolved Pokemon back a bit, as it groans in pain from the dark type attack. Diantha groans in frustration before calling out her next attack.

"Moonblast! Now!" She shouted as Mega Gardevoir gathered energy from the moon. It then forms an orb of pink energy in front of its hands and fires it at the Ninja Pokemon.

"Counter that with Water Shuriken!" Ash orders the Ninja Pokemon as it grabs the shuriken on its back and throws it to counter the fairy type attack.

The collision caused an explosion at the center of it. However, just as the smoke cleared away, Greninja, while its body became outlined in blue, suddenly emerged from the smoke as it charged towards Gardevoir with incredible speed, leaving a white streak behind it. The charge caused the Embrace Pokemon to fall to the ground. Gardevoir groans in pain, as it slowly gets back up.

"That was Quick Attack. Wasn't it?" asked Diantha, wondering what attack Greninja just did.

"That's right," Ash answered the Kalos Champion. "Took a while, but we finally mastered Quick Attack! Right, Greninja?"

Greninja nodded, agreeing with Ash about it mastering Quick Attack. When it was a Froakie, Ash wanted to teach it Quick Attack after seeing a ninja trainer named Sanpei use it with his Frogadier in a battle against them. Although Froakie ended up learning Double Team, Ash tried his hardest to teach Greninja Quick Attack during his five-year training mission. After a lot of hard work and training, Greninja finally mastered that attack. His friend, Sanpei, would be very pleased with both of them for mastering Quick Attack.

"Well then," Diantha said, while her Gardevoir recovers from that attack. "That was one powerful Quick Attack I have ever seen one. You should be proud."

"Indeed, I am, Diantha," Ash responded as he turned to look at Greninja, who also turned to look at his trainer, and then smiled at the Ninja Pokemon, which Greninja does the same action back at Ash. Their eyes then refocused back to the battle, as Ash called out Greninja's next move.

"Quick Attack! Once more!" Ash said with excitement ringing from his voice.

Greninja's body becomes outlined in blue, as it charges towards Mega Gardevoir with incredible speed while leaving a white streak behind it. Diantha grins at this opportunity to inflict damage to the speedy Ninja Pokemon.

"Gardevoir, use Thunderbolt, and then, Moonblast!" She exclaimed as Gardevoir releases a powerful bolt of yellow electricity from its body towards the charing water-type Pokemon.

The bolt of electricity hits Greninja, stopping its Quick Attack. Just as Greninja groans in pain from the electric attack, Ash feels a jolt go up against his spine as he groans softly in pain. Then, the Embrace Pokemon fires an orb of pink energy and it hits Greninja, causing it to cry out in agony. While Greninja takes damage from those super-effective attacks, Ash puts his arm on his side as he experiences the pain Greninja feels right now. Lucario noticed this and became concerned for his trainer.

"Master!" Lucario rushes to his trainer's aid. "Are you alright?"

Ash turns to look at the Aura Pokemon, before responding, "Don't worry, Lucario. I'm just fine."

"Do you want me to take over?" asked Lucario.

"No," Ash answered, while slowly recovering from the pain." This is Greninja's fight and his fight alone. You understand, don't you?"

"I do," Lucario said while nodding his head in agreement to Ash's words. "Let's hope he can win this without causing you any more pain."

Ash chuckled at Lucario's response, before saying. "We'll see about that."

He then turns to view his struggling water-type Pokemon as it quickly recovers from those super-effective attacks. Greninja gives Ash a thumb's up, telling his trainer that it can still battle. Ash nodded, and then, he and Greninja stood their ground firmly as they faced Diantha and her Mega Gardevoir with their faces expressing determination, confidence, and commitment to continue this battle to the very end.

"So you still have some fight left in you?" Diantha stated, regarding Ash's Greninja's current stamina. "Well then, this next attack will finish you! Moonblast! Let's go, Gardevoir!"

"Stop it with Water Shuriken!" Ash shouted, as the Ninja Pokemon grabs the shuriken on its back and throws it to stop the incoming orb of pink energy.

The two attacks collided once again, resulting in another explosion at the center. Once the smoke vanished, Ash quickly called out his next move.

"Double Team! Let's go!" Ash commands Greninja, as its body glows white. It then starts creating multiple copies of itself.

The copies of the Ninja Pokemon immediately begin surrounding the Embrace Pokemon to confuse it, as it struggles to find the real McCoy.

"Gardevoir, calm down and use Shadow Ball on all of them!" Diantha orders her Pokemon, as it starts firing multiple Shadow Balls towards the copies, hoping to find the real one.

As each Shadow Ball makes contact with its target, the copy quickly vanishes, revealing to be a fake. Once Gardevoir takes out several copies, Ash gives his Greninja an attack command.

"Now, Greninja, Quick Attack!" Ash shouted, surprising the Kalos Champion as she was so focused on taking out the copies that she didn't realize Greninja was waiting for the perfect time to strike.

The moment she saw Greninja charging towards her Pokemon. She quickly calls out a counterattack.

"Quick! Moonblast! Behind you!" Diantha yelled to her Pokemon, as it fires an orb of pink energy at their charging opponent.

The orb slams into the Ninja Pokemon, causing an explosion in front of Greninja. As the smoke was clearing away, Diantha was confident that Greninja was knocked out.

"And that's checkmat-" She started to say before immediately something was wrong as the smoke cleared away.

Once the smoke was gone, it showed that what she hit was one of the copies. Just as this realization came into Diantha's head, the real Greninja suddenly appeared behind Gardevoir, holding two purple energy swords in both of his hands.

"Night Slash! Now!" Ash shouted with pure excitement.

Following his orders, Greninja strikes the Embrace Pokemon, who didn't realize what just happened, with the two purple swords two times in a row, causing the Mega Evolved Pokemon to fall to the ground on its knees.

"Come on! Get up, Gardevoir!" Diantha pleads with her Pokemon to continue fighting.

Gardevoir hears its trainer's cries to stand up. However, it struggles to get off the ground. This battle, along with the ones it had with Charizard and Pikachu, has taken its toll on the Embrace Pokemon. Gardevoir was breathing heavily as it attempted to lift itself back up. Diantha could see the desperation in Gardevoir's eyes. She could immediately tell from her eye contact with Gardevoir that it doesn't have enough strength to keep on battling. Diantha closes her eyes, then takes a deep breath, just as Ash calls out what will be his final attack.

"Water Shuriken! Maximum Power!" Ash exclaimed as Greninja grabs the shuriken from its back.

The shuriken then starts to grow into a larger size as the Ninja Pokemon holds it in the air. Eventually, Greninja throws the giant-sized shuriken towards the completely exhausted Embrace Pokemon. Gardevoir then turns to view her trainer, who opens her eyes to look at her beloved Pokemon. The Kalos Champion then smiles and nods at the Embrace Pokemon, who also does the same back. The two of them already knew that this battle was over and they fought their hardest, but it wasn't hard enough against the bond that Ash and Greninja shared. Gardevoir then turns back to the incoming shuriken as it strikes the Embrace Pokemon down while resulting in an explosion to occur around the area that Gardevoir was in. The entire stadium was in complete silence as they waited to see the results of that conflict between those two powerful Pokemon.

When the dust and smoke cleared, it revealed an unconscious Gardevoir. Its form then changed back to what it was originally, before it Mega Evolved. Greninja also transformed back to its original form. However, when it did, both Greninja and Ash collapsed out of exhaustion as the two started breathing heavily while sitting down on the ground. The referee started to make his way to the center of the battlefield and then made the call.

"Gardevoir is unable to battle! Greninja wins! And so, the victor of this championship match is...Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town!"

The moment the referee finished his announcement, the whole stadium went from utter silence to thunderous cheers as they applauded the two battling trainers who gave them a battle that will go down in Pokemon history as one of the best.

After finally catching a breath, Ash looks around the stadium and hears the crowd chanting his name. This allowed him to realize he had defeated Diantha and became the new Kalos Champion. He smiled brightly as his eyes made their way to the suite, where all his friends were standing up from their seats as they cheered loudly and proudly for him. His eyes eventually met the eyes of his blue-eyed angel, who was happy for him winning the championship. Ash gives his girlfriend a thumb's up and a huge smile across his face, to which Serena responded with an adorable smile across her face.

All of a sudden, Pikachu jumps up onto Ash's shoulder and rubs its head against the side of Ash's head. Greninja and Lucario then join in on the celebration with a dog pile. All four were laughing and smiling as they managed to win the Kalos championship. Eventually, Lucario and Greninja got off of Ash and Pikachu. Then, Ash lifts himself from the ground, as he viewed the Pokemon that helped him win this match today.

"Pikachu...Lucario....and Greninja...we did it...we defeated Diantha and won the championship. Isn't this great?" Ash said as he looked at his three trusted and beloved Pokemon.

Greninja and Pikachu nodded, agreeing with their trainer. Ash then looks at the Aura Pokemon who has a huge smile across its face.

"Yes, master," Lucario said, as he looks around the stadium and hears the excitement of the cheers from the audience. "It truly is."

Ash nodded before noticing Diantha walking up to them. Ash immediately stood up as Diantha got closer to them. Diantha extended her hand out to Ash.

"Witnessing the noble spirits of you and your Pokémon in battle has really touched my heart. I thank you for giving me such an amazing battle today here, Ash," Diantha said to her challenger who was victorious over her.

"I should be thanking you for accepting my challenge, Diantha," Ash responded as he grabbed Diantha's hand, and then the two start shaking their hands. "I shall never forget this battle, for as long as I live."

Diantha smiled at his statement, before saying. "That positive hope for the future and the warm feelings that fill your heart... Those things can never be exhausted. They will never run out. Not ever. If you just find a way to share them with others, I know you'll have a happy life."

Just as the former Kalos Champion finished her sentence, Ash takes another look at the suite, and then, he gives a great big smile to all his friends, especially Serena. Seeing all his friends expressing happiness and joy from their hearts, Ash feels the satisfaction of being able to share his positivity to all the people he has met throughout all his travels.

"Yeah," He said while his eyes met with Serena's eyes. "I definitely will."

After Ash responded, Diantha held his hand up to the audience, as she started her speech to the entire stadium. "Today, we witnessed the birth of a new champion! From the ashes he has risen from, he has proven today that with a lot of care, love, and trust you put into your Pokemon and the people that you cared so much about, then you can accomplish any challenge, no matter how difficult it may be! Let's give another round of applause to our new champion, Ash Ketchum!"

Once her speech ended, the whole stadium erupted in thunderous applause from every spectator, standing up from their seats, including the ones in the suite. Ash couldn't be any happier to have won the championship and all of his friends were here to support. As he gazes upon Serena, who is still applauding for him, Ash smiles brightly as he knows he will have a great happy life with his Pokemon and Serena by his side.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hey guys. This is Trevor. I hope you all enjoyed the epic conclusion of Ash's match against Diantha. It took me over 8 hours to write because I wanted to make sure it was perfect.

Now then, I want to let you all know that I am removing the Ash and Serena vs Max and Bonnie battle portion from this story. I'm removing it because I wasn't really that excited to write that tag battle to begin with. So instead, the next battle to take place in this story will be the Ash vs Gary Promised Battle! Now this one I can't wait to start writing! I'll start writing it hopefully next week.
